62:When Kings Collide

"I thought as much," Eryx suddenly remarked.

"Huh?" Zaiyila snapped back to reality and blinked twice.

Eryx pulled his hand away and smiled. "I mean, my Queen is blessed with natural beauty that’s hard to believe. If you act with me looking like this, it’s truly a blessing," he commented.

Zaiyila blushed slightly. "Don’t embarrass me," she murmured.

"I’m simply stating the facts. Also, the reason I didn’t want other actresses is because they’re so artificial all in plastic surgery—I don’t feel comfortable around them," he explained.

Zaiyila nodded. "So long as you agree to help my sister, I don’t mind acting in a movie with you," she responded warmly.

"If my Queen doesn’t mind, could you share your food with me? I don’t want to order another dish since I’m not sure if I’ll like it," Eryx inquired, his eyes never leaving Zaiyila.

"Sure," Zaiyila handed her remaining food to him. "The food’s nice though—you can eat it if you don’t mind that it’s leftover," she added, her confidence dropping to nearly zero.

Eryx smiled. "Leftover, you say? My Queen is truly adorable," he complimented and began eating, using the same chopsticks Zaiyila had used.

Zara stood frozen where she was, eyes wide with disbelief as she stared at both Zaiyila and Eryx.

"Why are they acting like everything they’re doing is normal? And... and they’re having an indirect kiss right now! What’s going on?" she exclaimed inwardly.

Zaiyila turned toward Zara and was about to speak when her gaze shifted past her. "Husband!" she exclaimed joyfully and immediately stood up, running toward Everett, who was approaching them.

Everett lifted Zaiyila as if she were a child and kissed her cheek. "My Queen summoned me. Hope I’m not late," he teased with a smile.

Zaiyila shook her head. "Your name escaped my lips accidentally. I didn’t mean to disturb you," she replied.

Everett chuckled, then his gaze landed on Eryx, who continued eating without sparing him a glance.

"Eve, this is my sister, Zara," Zaiyila introduced.

Zara glanced at Everett, unsure of what to say. "Good... good afternoon, sir," she stammered.

Everett ignored her and sat down on Zaiyila’s chair with her on his lap.

Zaiyila blushed in embarrassment. "Let me sit on the chair properly—we’re in public," she whispered, face flushed.

Instead of letting her go, Everett wrapped his arms around her waist and rested his head on her back. "My Queen is embarrassed now?" he asked, closing his eyes.

"Of course not," Zaiyila replied quickly.

"If that’s the case, continue what you were doing. Don’t mind me," Everett uttered, his arms wrapped around Zaiyila’s slim waist.

Zaiyila’s face turned even redder. "How will I even concentrate?" she thought, glancing around—only to notice people were secretly taking pictures. That made her even more self-conscious.

Among everyone, Zara was the most confused. "The acting god is calling sister ’my Queen,’ and now this man is doing the same. Could it be that... no, my sister isn’t like that. And this man—she called him her husband? How could that be?" she wondered, not daring to look at Everett again. She felt as if she might go blind if she did.

"The food is indeed delicious. Had I known, I would’ve ordered mine directly instead of taking yours. It’s really my bad—I hope I didn’t make my Queen stay hungry," Eryx commented, emphasizing his words deliberately for Everett to hear. Even a fool could tell he was provoking him.

Everett slowly opened his eyes and stared at Eryx with murderous intent. "Dear wife," he addressed Zaiyila without removing his gaze from Eryx.

"Mhn?" Zaiyila wanted to turn around to look at him but changed her mind.

"Order something. I’m quite hungry," Everett mentioned casually.

"Okay," Zaiyila nodded and called the waiter, placing an order. "It’ll be here soon, okay?" she assured him warmly.

Everett glanced at Eryx, casting him a deliberately provocative look.

Eryx’s lips twitched, but he continued eating. "My Queen, about..." he began in an affectionate tone that made it seem like they had a long-standing relationship.

"What did you just call her?" Everett’s cold voice cut in sharply.

"My Queen," Eryx replied calmly, not the least bit intimidated. Instead, he returned Everett’s provocative smile.

"I’m talking about the tone you used! Dare to use that tone again!" Everett snapped, his eyes narrowing dangerously.

Eryx smirked and was about to speak, but Zaiyila quickly interrupted, sensing that things could escalate.

"The food is here already, Eve. There’s no need to argue. Stop, okay?" she pleaded, looking at Everett with gentle eyes.

"Tsk," Everett hissed in annoyance but didn’t say another word.

Zaiyila sighed. "What’s wrong with both of them? That reminds me, I’m supposed to apologize to Eryx. The first time they met, it was Everett who picked a fight with him," she thought.

"Um... Eryx, actually I’m sorry for—"

"I said I’m hungry. Very hungry. Can you please pay attention to me and feed me?" Everett interrupted, clearly catching on to what she was about to say.

"Eve," Zaiyila looked at him.

"What? Did you forget that I’m your baby now? Your son" Everett arched a brow slightly.

Zaiyila’s eyes lit up with excitement, remembering that she was still roleplaying as Everett’s mother. "Owww, my baby. Don’t be upset with mommy, okay? I’ll feed you now," she cooed, kissing him on the cheek before preparing to feed him.

Not only Zara but even Eryx was dumbfounded, staring at Zaiyila and Everett in disbelief.

Eryx was in the worst condition—he clenched the spoon in his hand tightly, his eyes softly glowing with murderous intent.

Everett, noticing the aura, smirked. Zaiyila was still sitting on his lap, turned slightly to the side, and Everett wrapped his arms around her waist again and placed his head against her chest, clearly enjoying the moment while intentionally provoking Eryx.

Zaiyila continued feeding him but suddenly remembered something and turned to Eryx. "Eryx, in the future, if you need someone to play a mother-and-son role, Eve and I are available," she suggested innocently.

Everett, who had been chewing, paused and lifted his head.

Hearing her proposal, Eryx suddenly smiled. His smile was so radiant that Zaiyila was dazed for a moment—but little did she know that the smile was brimming with ill intent.

"Now that you mention it, I do have a movie that needs that kind of character..."
