Bride To His Darkness-Chapter 283: He Abandoned You
Chapter 283: He Abandoned You
When Marius walked into the chamber, as it had been two nights gone since he last saw her, he decided to visit his quarters where he kept her locked, wanting to confirm if the beauty had awoken or if it was time to wake her up himself. He never knew the spell would hold this much effect, so much so that two nights had passed her by, and she hasn’t woken up yet.
The room was draped in shadows when his silhouette, almost a waltz of darkness, stepped into the room. As he glided across the floor, a predatory grace marking each silent fall, his eyes darted to the curtains that were left open. Registering the fact that he had closed the curtains himself before leaving, his eyes moved to the bed that was presently empty of her presence, whilst it conveyed her rise from her deep slumbers, and that made his lips curl deviously.
Unbeknownst to him, the woman cowered behind the half open door, her breath held in anxious anticipation.
A flicker of uncertainty danced in the dimness, whilst he stilled, his obsidian eyes narrowing. Sensing Samantha’s presence behind him, he turned with an eerie precision. Before she could unleash the chair she clutched in desperation, his hand shot out, effortlessly catching her arm mid-swing.
"Is this how you choose to welcome me?" Her violent actions, though unexpected, had piqued his interest, and his Sierra was never a violent type. Was this proof that the rebirth of a lost soul usually returned with a completely different personality? His Sierra would never once think of wiping him with a chair, she considered it an abomination.
"Do I have to start all over and make you realize your place, just like before? When I had you in my grasp?" He took the chair from her grip and closed the distance between them.

The room seemed to hold its breath as their eyes met. His dark hair framed a face that was both alluring and unsettling– a sculpted masterpiece that belonged solely to the shadows. The obsidian eyes, pool of mystery, gleamed with an otherworldly intensity that betrayed the unnatural being before her.
As he held her delicate arm in his firm grip, the subtle play of shadows danced upon his face, revealing just enough to captivate her imagination. In that brief moment of stillness, Samantha couldn’t help but feel the need to keep her distance, a simultaneous alarm and apprehension taking over, whilst she jerked her arm free and moved four steps back, keeping a safe distance between the unfamiliar man standing in front of her.
Caught between fear and confusion, she stammered, "who... what are you?"
"I am but a Demon." He introduced formally, his resonant voice echoing in the darkness as he elaborated, "I am the shadow in the night, you cannot escape what lurks beyond the veil... unless you wish to try."
Samantha’s pulse quickened, and she took another cautious step back, attempting to escape from the chamber since he had left the door open on his way in, but when she got to the door, a lady came in her way, blocking her path and forcing her to halt.
When the lady took a step forward, Samantha took a step back, and she came to the realization that she was trapped in the presence of unfamiliar, but dangerous people.
She hadn’t noticed it before, but they were both draped in regal cloak, which meant they held a significant title.
Where was Viney?? She wondered worriedly, but unknown to her, her pet plant had been hit hard by the spell Marius had used to summon her. It weakened the plants energy, making it fall to an even deeper slumber in order to regenerate.
"What do you want from me?" Samantha’s eyes darted cautiously between two of them. When no one answered, she took a deep shaky breath and asked steadily, "How am I here? Where... where is Ivan?"
"Oh my dear, you’re a pawn in a grander game now." Said Carmela who sneered with a cold smile on her red lips, "your lover has abandoned you, I thought you’d be more sensible to realize the obvious once you awoke. It’s been two days, this will be a lot to take in."
Staying calm and regally composed, Carmela sauntered towards the nearby table and poured herself some glass of water. She refilled it and returned to Samantha, kindheartedly handing her a cup of water.
"Here."
"What do you mean he abandoned me?" Ignoring Carmela’s polite gesture, Samantha demanded from the strange Auburn-brown haired woman, her voice laden with trepidation, "What is this place, what do you want?"
Carmela simply rolled her eyes in disdain before returning to the table and dropping the untouched water on the surface. She sat on the bed, her legs crossed, whilst she smiled once more.
"Welcome, Samantha, to your new reality. You’re far from the comforts of GreenHollow now. We are your new owners starting from today. After All, your lover sold you to us overnight, you must know about the battle he’s presently undergoing with the... witches from the south?"
Samantha recoiled, disbelief etched on her face at the realization that sunk in, "you’re... a witch?"
"The Queen of witches." She corrected and spoke with a tone as sharp as blade, "you’re in a realm far removed from your precious GreenHollow, and what we want from you is simple– your obedience."
Samantha’s gaze darted between the two Intruders, unable to make herself believe a word that were currently spewing, "I don’t under–"
"Your beloved King of GreenHollow has deemed you expendable." Marius cut in with a dark chuckle, "you belong to us now."
"That is a lie!" Samantha didn’t think twice before denying it. She may have no recollection about what truly happened, but there was absolutely no way Ivan would go to that extent. "I want to leave, I don’t know how I ended up here but I want to return to my home."
"Believe what you will," Carmela, who was reveling in the cruelty of her deceit, smirked. "But they will be futile as your fate is already sealed. You will never see your husband again."
"You don’t own me, and you don’t get to decide that." Samantha’s heart pounded in her chest, refusing to grapple with the false reality.
"I’m leaving, and I’d like to see which one of you will stop me."
"We certainly won’t." Marius answered, but that did not calm her heart at all, "you want to see your family, sure, you will see one of them, but you need to wear this and come down the stairs, that is the only way you can see them and confirm the truth for yourself."
Clapping his hands, a servant walked in and carefully kept the arranged outfit on the bed. Lowering her head politely at Carmela and Marius, she left.
"Wear this, and join everyone downstairs." Carmela rose from the bed, "if you are eager to see your family betray you instead of having a make-do with what we’ve told you, then please, be my guest tonight."
She haughtily arched an elegant eyebrow at Samantha, almost challengingly, and with Marius, they stepped out of the room, locking the dazed Samantha inside.
Samantha gazed at the outfit on the bed, and when she lifted it from the tray it was placed in, her face paled, her eyes widening in pure horror.
"They... want me to wear this?"
