Chapter 38: Kael’s Arrival

Kael stepped out from the shadows of the oak grove, lightning crackling around his fingers like trapped starlight. His clothes were different from the servant outfit he’d worn at the auction.

Now he was dressed in dark leather robes that seemed to absorb the moonlight. At his side hung a sword that hummed with barely contained power.

After his intimate encounter with Lady Leya and Lady Morwen, the Porn Empire System informed him that he had gained sufficient experience points to upgrade the system to Level 2.

The multiple rounds of intimate sessions had also pushed his cultivation forward dramatically—he now stood at the peak of level 9 Mortal Rank, teetering on the edge of breakthrough to Earth Rank.

His quest completion notifications chimed in his mind, displaying two significant rewards for satisfying the countess and Lady Morwen, and even earning a ninety percent performance rating.

The first was Heaven’s Judgment, a lightning-type skill that crackled with raw elemental power. The second was Sword of Judgment, a weapon-based technique that would enhance his blade work considerably.

Both skills carried an Earth Grade classification, though the system indicated they possessed upgrade potential for future advancement.

Even at their current level, these abilities packed considerable force. Kael recalled how effectively he had used the techniques against Commander Cole, managing to wound the experienced warrior despite the rank difference between them. These new skills would only amplify his combat effectiveness further.

"Sorry I’m late," he said again with a slight smile, his voice calm despite the chaos around him. "I had some ’business’ to finish."

Shortly after receiving these rewards, a thunderous crash from the Blackwood Estate’s main building interrupted their intimate moment.

The sound sent shockwaves through the area, followed immediately by terrified screams and the sight of noble guests fleeing in panic as Church Knights gave chase. The peaceful atmosphere had shattered into chaos.

Recognizing the danger, Kael made a tactical decision to split their group. He suggested that Lady Morwen and Lady Leya escape towards the Blackwood Forest with LiLa and Sara to ensure their safety, while he returned to the main building to locate Madam Vex.

This decision led him directly into the confrontation where he discovered the battle already underway—Madam Vex and an unfamiliar woman engaged in fierce combat with a church knight who’s name he’d overheard was Commander Cole. He had undergone a shocking transformation into a member of the Sanguine Court.

Madam Vex stared at Karl with wide eyes. This wasn’t the Level 1 Mortal Rank newcomer she’d brought to the estate just hours ago.

The aura radiating from Kael was strong enough to make her take an involuntary step backward. Peak Level 9 Mortal Rank, just one step below Earth Rank cultivation.

"How?" she whispered.

Kael smiled and tossed two small pills he’d bought from the system’s shop toward the women. "Healing pills. Take them quickly."

Velara caught hers with trembling hands, not bothering to ask questions. The gray streaks in her hair and the lines around her eyes were proof enough that she needed whatever help she could get. She swallowed the pill without hesitation.

The effect was immediate. Color returned to her cheeks, and the premature aging began to reverse itself. Not completely, some damage from Cole’s entropy magic was permanent, but enough to get her back on her feet.

Madam Vex took her pill and felt her wounds begin to close. The cuts on her back stopped bleeding, and the ache in her muscles faded to a dull throb.

Cole had recovered from the lightning strikes, his regenerative abilities already healing the burn marks. But his red eyes were fixed on Kael with something approaching intrigue.

"Interesting," the Sanguine Court member said, circling like a predator. "Level 9 Mortal Rank, but those lightning bolts hit with Earth Rank power. How is that possible?"

Kael drew his sword in one smooth motion. The blade was silver-white and seemed to glow with its own inner light. "I guess you’ll have to figure that out the hard way."

"A mortal dares challenge me?" Cole laughed, but there was less amusement in it now. "I’ve been feeding on life force for over two centuries. I’ve killed Earth Rank warriors, half-step Spirit Circle masters. What makes you think—"

He never finished the sentence.

Kael moved like lightning himself, crossing twenty feet in the blink of an eye. His sword came down in a blazing arc that left a trail of white fire in the air.

Cole barely got his arms up in time to block. Dark energy formed a shield around him, but Kael’s blade cut through it like mist. The sword bit deep into Cole’s forearm, drawing blood that steamed and hissed where it hit the ground.

"Impossible," Cole snarled, stumbling backward. "That sword—"

"Sword of Judgment," Kael said simply. "Don’t worry about the name. You won’t be alive long enough to remember it."

He pressed his attack, his blade moving in patterns that seemed to bend the light around them. Each strike carried the weight of something far beyond Mortal Rank cultivation. This was skill made manifest, technique refined to its perfect form.

Cole tried to fight back with his blood magic tentacles, but they withered and died wherever Kael’s sword touched them. The consecrated steel was like poison to the Sanguine Court member’s dark power.

"What are you?" Cole demanded, launching himself backward to create distance.

"Someone who’s had a very blissful evening," Kael replied, following without breaking stride.

The truth was more complex than he was willing to share. The intimate sessions with Lady Leya, Lady Morwen, and his two work partners had been... intense. But they’d also been incredibly rewarding. Every touch, every hard-fought round, every moment of shared pleasure had fed his system with experience points and lust points.

By the time they were finished, his system had advanced to Level 2. New options had unlocked in the shop. More powerful rewards had become available. And most importantly, he’d been able to receive skills that would have taken years to purchase naturally.
