Building My Guild With A Blank Scroll-Chapter 54: Bloody Wizard
Chapter 54: Bloody Wizard
"Kyaaaa!!"
The black courser kicked its legs in the air with its rider hanging tight at its back.
"Farewell Master!!" Dan was on one knee with his hands clasped and face down. "Safe Journeys."
Lo-an nodded, hitting the reins as the courser dashed out, galloping as fast as it could. Moving through the path memories of first leaving these bastards resurfaced. ’They didn’t disappoint me— good.’ He mumbled with a warm smile on his face.
*GALLOP– GALLOP!
The path was straight, and though he couldn’t recognize it, he trusted Dan’s words to continue as it led to the main road. Trees could be seen around, stretching for miles being a habitat for beasts. Since most monsters and man didn’t dwell in the same area, the titles of prey and predator would constantly be shifting between both races. Monsters were more organized than beasts, having clans and territories, as they were able to reason to an extent.
’Alicia should have gone to the mansion by now. Of course, she wouldn’t be bothered about my absence, though it’s unusual of me. She’d be lonely having none to listen to her ramble on and on.’ His thoughts wandered ahead of him, thinking about his granddaughter and one of the few people he cared for — his own Mune Family.
"But to think of it, what happened to those two? Let’s hope the least they are is alive. After all, that husband of Mia is quite the strong one- An Expert Channeller"
"Kyaa!" Rae went faster on its hooves as the path ahead seemed to be a dead end. There was nothing but bush or maybe a tree perhaps, he couldn’t tell. However, Dan should have known about this, so he’d trust him and continue towards it. Neighing as it approached, also confident its master was on the right path, Rae broke through it, truly being nothing but a cover up.
"Huh?" Mounted and in golden and white armour, one forged with a monster core— a Knight Tier Armour. A guard noticed something suddenly pop out, raising his head, his eyes widened behind his helmet. Quickly pulling the reins of the horse, he brought it to a halt with the other guards doing same. Thus the party came to a halt, as they were the vanguards.
"Who goes there?" The guards called out to the courser which was now before them with a gray-haired old man on it.
’Aren’t these knights of NobleHouse Elmore?’ Lo-an thought, recognizing their colours as he scanned them. "Are they hunting something?"
Behind, the rear had arrived, as a figure in a much higher tier and flashy white and gold armour appeared.
’That’s Kaleb, wherever he’s heading, it wouldn’t do anyone good to be noticed.’ Seeing the difference of that figure to the rest, he didn’t need to be told who he was, quickly pulling the reins to turn the horse. "Hey, where are you going? Stand down!" The vanguards called out, expecting him to simply do just that— soft life seekers.
"What’s going on here?!" The hoarse voice of Carl was heard loud and clearly. However, Kaleb looked to the front, catching the view of the rider up ahead before he’d turned. "Blood Wizard."
"Huh?" Diz turned to look back, having seemingly heard his superiors say something.
"Kill that Bloody Wizard!!!" Kaleb’s voice resounded throughout the forest, the birds flying up into the air. All heads turned to the other figure on the black mount who could be seen galloping away.
’Oh, great so am the prey here instead- nice.’
"Charge!!!"
"Kyaaa!!!" freeωebnovēl.c૦m
The ground rumbled as the vanguard roared ahead, the hooves of their mounts pounding on it. The sounds of swords sliding out of their scabbards, arrows living their quivers and being drawn filled the air.
Behind Kaleb, mounted beside his brother, Tav couldn’t believe what he’d just heard. ’Did he say Kill?’
"Rear Units! Join me to kill the enemy!" Ral yelled out to the knights behind him, hitting the reins and kicking the saddle, zooming past Kaleb.
’No!’
"Ral!" Tav called out after him. Hearing his brother, he turned with his usual brightened up his face. "Ride with me, Brother!"
’How do I tell him?’ Tav was now lost in thoughts, as he’d recognised that it was their Master. However, the fact that Ral hadn’t also noticed was the fact that in his mind, it wasn’t possible for him to be around here.
"Kyaa!"
"Kyaa!!"
’They are closing in?’ Lo-an could hear them nearer than he did before, despite moving fast they seemed to be going faster. ’Are they on beasts or horses?!’
*SWOOSH!
Suddenly alarmed, an arrow went past him hitting the ground a meter ahead before he went past it. ’Archers are the most annoying types of Knights!’
*SWOOSH!
*SWOOSH!
*CLANG!
*CLANG!
This time round the arrows which came flying, directed at him ended up colliding with a barrier, glowing upon impact and disappearing after.
"Those arrows aren’t going to get through!" One of the knights with a bow, leaning back with his feet tight on the saddle said, pulling the string and firing.
"All Warrior Type Knights charge with me!!" Karl bellowed, his two-handed great sword being held easily in one hand. Breaking away towards him, the knights could be seen brandishing their swords with their arms bulging up.
On the other side, a Diz could be seen with his spear, having units with the same following behind. "Archers Give Way!"
Nodding, the Archer Type Knights slowed down their horses, falling back as the others led by Diz and Carl zoomed after the enemy.
"Archers Fire!" Ral’s voice was heard as he approached with the rear units, including Kaleb who was behind them.
The archers nocking their bows, bending at a 45° angle before releasing their arrows. Going up in the sky and down far ahead, was the best way to avoid their comrades and get the enemy instead.
"Ral, there’s—"
"We have to get closer to have a better shot at him." Ral cut in on him, entirely focused as he drew out an arrow onto his bow.
Glancing back to Kaleb, he contemplated what to do, as the last thing he wanted was raise any form of suspicion. "Eh, brother won’t you draw your blades?" Ral suddenly asked, drawing the string with his eyes flaming silver. He performed his usual stunt — a test shot, channelling energy to the arrow.
*SWOOSH!
The arrow went straight into the forest, heading to the target trees luckily aligned just the way he wanted it.
*CRACK– CRACK!
*CRACK!
*THUNK!
"Hah, guess I’m not rusty after all.’ He remarked, having watched the arrows split three trees apart, the fourth with a crack and almost facing the same fate. Watching, Tav couldn’t believe his brother had grown so powerful all this while.
’No, I can’t allow this! I can’t risk losing Ral, the others would kill me.’
