Building My SSS-Rank Universal Empire: From Trash to Cosmic Overlord-Chapter 192: Bad Feeling
"Ah... shit," Vale said. This time, he knew he would have to fight, no way around it. But first, he jerked backward with the other towers, falling back so the Flagbearers could take the front view.
The mirror that Pomora was carrying jetted out waves of water that shot into the air, curving around and falling like rain, shooting down like abnormally long bullets.
Bam!
The attack spread like a ripple, with Pomora and the teams in the middle, blasting away all the monsters surrounding them.
At the same time, the crown Takoda was wearing flared with red light, and his figure blurred down. He grabbed two monsters from the ground and slammed into a third so fast that all they saw was a flash of red and fur.
This way, Takoda had created space for himself to fight so he wouldn’t disturb others.
Pomora simply flew away on her water platform, and four flying monsters chased after her. Steelclaw stood where he was, the clouds beneath him flashing angrily with red lightning.
He raised his hand, and a thick forest of lightning fell to the ground, slamming into the mud monster and frying it together with its clones, turning them into charred, hardened mud that crunched beneath his feet as he descended.
He then condensed lightning into a spear and faced the charging reptilian monster.
The moment the fight broke out, Vale had already disappeared from his place. Using short-distance teleportation, he appeared behind the crystal monster that hadn’t yet joined the fight.
’.....the best option right now is to hit them before they have a chance to hit me...!!!’
The monster turned with quicksilver speed and sent a punch at the tower that had suddenly appeared behind it. But Vale was already gone, reappearing below it and quickly sending a wave of intense, cracking fire above him.
Red fire spread overhead, burning the air with a woosh.
’...that should do some damage...!’
A flash of light pierced through the fire wall, and a multicolored crystal hand reached out, punching the tower from the battlement.
Bam!
The tower shuddered and rocked, sent downward by the force. The crystal monster then stretched out its hand, creating lumps of crystal that shot toward Vale’s tower and exploded.
But Vale was already gone, disappearing with short-distance teleportation. Again, he appeared behind the crystal monster, but this time, a glowing, thick band of molten fire flew out from in front of him in an arc and smashed into the monster.
The fire splashed harmlessly against the monster, but the force sent it reeling back so hard that it slammed into the ground, skidding across the dry earth and cracking it in the process.
The monster was on its feet and on Vale in a flash. Crystals grew on its hands, rapidly increasing in size and length. The now-massive hand clamped onto the tower in a crushing hug as the monster’s main body dissolved into a flash of light that floated away—only to reform into its original shape.
But the long crystal hand had already encircled half of the tower.
Vale understood at once. ’...explosion...!’
He wasted no time. "No explosion is allowed here!"
At the same time, he sent a beam of fire at the monster, driving it back.
The crystal around the fire flared and then dulled as the law took over.
’...i can’t use the Commander’s law for anything else since this crystal is holding onto me... I have to do something fast...’
"Tiber, Slya! Hold on!"
Suddenly, the tower shrank into its smaller size, expelling the three humans into midair, where they began to fall. Tiber and Slya shouted in shock. When Vale told them to hold on, they didn’t know this was what he meant!
The crystal was heavier, falling faster—passing them in a blur—but the ground was rushing toward them just as quickly! Before the three of them crashed, the tower returned to its original shape and sucked them back in.
At the same time, the tower vanished from its current position and reappeared higher in the air. Immediately, Vale shot down continuous beams of light to keep the crystal monster away while he thought about what to do.
’...the closer that crystal monster gets, the more dangerous it is... I must not let its crystals touch me... Constant explosions from a monster of that rank are definitely something I do not want...’
"Crystals are too heavy here!" Vale shouted.
A pulse spread from the tower as the new law took effect. The crystal monster, which had been flying toward him, suddenly staggered in midair, whirled, and then plummeted, crashing into the ground with a ground-shaking thud.
At the same time, the crystal ring that had been an attack against Vale finally exploded, sending dust and stones showering up.
Vale sighed. Finally, a chance to regain his breath and figure out what to do.
He began casting Infernal Balls around himself to form a larger Infernal Ball when something shot out of the dust. It was the crystal monster, standing atop a crystal pillar that continued to grow, pushing it forward.
Vale didn’t have time to react. He could only drag the five Infernal Balls he had already bound and send them slamming into the monster. The two forces collided, but the fire had little effect on the crystal monster. Although its left arm was blown away, it had already regrown.
So Vale did the only thing he could, short-distance teleportation!
And he realized, with surprise, that they had been fighting farther and farther away from the group. He could hear the clap of thunder and Takoda’s growling, only because they were loud but he didn’t have time to worry about that.
The monster he was fighting had no flesh, no easy way to wound it, while Vale, on the other hand, was burning through essence faster than he would have liked.
Suddenly, Slya’s voice reached him. "What’s that around us?"
His attention focused, and he saw what she was talking about. Indeed, crystal dust was sparking all around them, brushing against the tower and settling on it. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎
’...ah... shit... I have a bad feeling about this...’
