By Seeing Beasts' Training Paths, My Beast Became Invincible-Chapter 88: A mindbind pill
The demon knelt on the ground, his hands locked behind his back. He forced a twisted smirk, even after getting brutally battered.
"I won’t say anything, so just kill me."
Paul clenched his fist in rage before delivering a merciless kick to the demon’s mouth, shattering its incisors, blood and broken teeth dropping and sinking into the thick snow—the demon fell backward, letting out a painful groan through his broken lips.
He didn’t stop.
He continued his cruel acts upon the demon with bloodshot eyes.
’’No need to say that. It’s already obvious... I’ll kill you.’’
Rocky let out a long breath while witnessing Paul torture the demon in fury. He understood that kind of thoughtless action. Paul and his fellows had spent many days gathering supplies for their stronghold, and now it was all gone.
Others showed both mental and physical exhaustion, yet there were still some guys smart enough to act at this moment.
They swiftly stopped Paul, who was about to kill the demon, and began some recovery on it. Anyway, they still needed the demon alive.
They needed to extract information from it at any cost in this situation—it might be the key to escaping this snowstorm.
Now, the big question was how they would extract that information.
Torture until he revealed it... hmm, it wouldn’t be effective. Instead, they should try another way.
Using their beast, whose ability was related to mind control, wasn’t a bad option. Although, demon possessed a solid mind, they should give it a try.
But Rocky had an idea, so he spoke up.
’’Leave it to me.’’
Paul and his fellows gazed at it with curiosity, but seconds later, they nodded.
Rocky took a pill from his pocket.
A mindbind pill.
He stared at the pill in his palm for a moment, recalling its description.
—
[Description]: Whoever eats this pill will become a puppet for the first person they see. However, the effectiveness of the pill lasts only a week and has no effect on someone who is mentally strong.
—
Rocky lingered for a while before slowly approaching the demon, who was restrained by soldiers.
The demon’s face twisted in fury as he gazed at the pill in Rocky’s palm. It gave him a bad feeling. But the more he struggled to escape, the two guys beside him just tightened their grip.
’’Damn! Let me out! F*CK YOU!’’
Before the demon could make another irritated sound, Paul landed a precise, brutal punch to his face, leaving him stunned for a moment—then Paul and a few others forced his mouth open.
Rocky smirked and tossed the pill into the demon’s mouth.
’’He’s still fighting back?’’
Rocky frowned as the demon refused to swallow the pill, but it didn’t last long. Another punch landed on his jaw, forcing him to swallow it completely.
The next moment, the demon’s face distorted in pain as veins writhed and bulged visibly across his body. It seemed the mind-blind pill had taken effect.
The demon collapsed, shivering as he struggled against the pill.
He forced himself to look up.
Sweat poured over his face, only to freeze in the icy wind moments later. He glared at Rocky with eyes full of hatred.
’’W-What have you done to me?’’
Rocky simply squatted down and yanked the demon’s hair up. His voice was cold.
’’Nothing much.’’
Paul, nearby, asked suspiciously,
’’Is it really working?’’
Rocky rubbed his chin as he waited for the result. He had no idea whether it would work or not—waiting was the only thing they could do.
Five minutes later, the demon’s head dropped, his hollow eyes fixed on the ground.
Rocky hesitated for a moment, then asked,
’’State your identity... tell me the truth.’’
The demon’s lips trembled at Rocky’s command, continuing to quiver, making the soldiers swallow in unease.
At some point, they finally let out relieved breaths as the demon spoke obediently.
’’My name is Torq... a common demon serving under the Sword Demon Commander. My father is...’’
Rocky frowned as the demon revealed everything, though he was clearly rambling about unnecessary things, so Rocky cut in,
’’Tell me your plan... Is it just to wear us down and ruin our supplies?’’
The demon lingered for a moment before nodding. Almost everyone here instantly got angry—some were even ready to kill the demon right then.
"I must kill that son of a bitch."
But some smarter guys quickly held that soldier back and tried to calm his hot head.
Rocky blinked for a while before asking again.
"How did you know our routine in this snowstorm?"
The demon said,
"Because... we’ve been watching from the storm. There are around 100 small groups out here, so wherever you go, we’ll still see you."
He added, "We already knew you’d have to pass through this ice land. After all, it’s the usual route for lowly races to transport supplies."
Paul’s face darkened, his expression turning grim. It couldn’t be helped—after all, the mission had already failed from the start.
The others shared the same feeling.
Rocky rubbed his chin a few times before asking,
"So... is your outpost nearby? ...It must be. You guys need a place to gather and rotate shifts anyway."
The demon nodded.
"I guess... your outpost has a lot of supplies."
The demon nodded again.
"Good!" Rocky nodded to himself and spoke to everyone.
"Get ready, everyone. We’ll prepare for a battle. If we take their supplies, the mission can still be completed."
"A bloody battle."
Paul and the soldiers frowned in bewilderment. They were surprised by Rocky’s plan—a plan they had never thought of, but it really was a good option right now.
However, if there was an outpost here, that meant a commander would be stationed there. Did they have enough force to face them? 𝒇𝓻𝓮𝓮𝙬𝙚𝒃𝒏𝓸𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝓬𝓸𝒎
"Is that really fine? I don’t think it’s a good idea right now. We should return to the stronghold and ask for backup."
Rocky tilted his head and said,
"Well, that’s an option, but I’m afraid we don’t have time."
Rocky glanced at the demon, who was shivering and showing some strange symptoms. Even so, the demon still had a tough mind—he was resisting Rocky’s pill.
The chance to use that demon as a trump card wouldn’t come twice, so they had to act now.
