Rocky opened his eyes, still leaning his back against the tent. He glanced at his beasts massacring the demons without mercy.
He summoned the system screen.

Rocky sighed and dismissed the system screen. He had hoped his beasts would be in the mood to do something—at least they could learn something interesting. But it looked like they weren’t really in the mood, or maybe they just didn’t have any skills to learn at this point.
Rocky summoned the other runes.

Rocky smirked. Indeed, The benefits from his role as a soldier killing demons had helped him earn a lot of points. Unlike monsters, demons gave him a ton of points. But unfortunately, they couldn’t help his beasts level up.
While still lost in his thoughts, he suddenly glanced at the snowy sky. For some reason, he could sense the presence of a strong individual.
’’Here it comes.’’
Rocky forced himself to smile as he slowly stood up. He commanded his beasts to stop killing the demons and come to him.
Now he fully understood why that smartass demon had smirked at him. Not because he was happy to be killed by Rocky, but because their commander would return to the outpost.
It seemed the information he got from the demon he controlled was slightly off. Their commander wouldn’t return after a week—but after one day.
There were two thoughts apparent in his mind at this point.
Firstly, the demon had tried to resist the mindbind and fed him false information, creating a gap in their plan... What a smartass demon.
Or secondly, the demons here had used some trick to contact their commander and report the situation.
Or maybe all of it was wrong... but who cares. Now, he had to deal with a threat capable of changing the tide of battle.
(Hope the enemy isn’t too strong.)
He gazed at the vague figure, who was standing on the head of a flying monstrous abomination. Over time, Rocky could see his appearance more clearly.
A demon with a firm, cold, and noble face looked at nothing in particular, his hands kept behind his back in nonchalance, as if the chaos below the outpost wasn’t even worth his attention. Sometimes, the freezing wind blew past him, but instead of showing the usual shiver of a normal being, it only made him look even more badass.
His muscular lines were carved perfectly across his body, as if he were an unholy being from hell.
After a few seconds, he simply jumped off his beast, descending to the ground where the chaotic fighting was taking place.
Rocky muttered,
’’Seems like this harsh environment has no effect on him.’’
Rocky narrowed his eyes as a bad feeling crept in—worse than anything he had felt before.
Then, instinctively, he checked that demon’s beasts’ stats, but it only solidified his reasoning.

’’Shit!’’
Rocky’s face darkened as he gazed at the status. He was sure of one thing now: the possibility of beating that bastard was quite low.
Without hesitation, Rocky yelled to warn everyone.
’’Everybody! If you don’t want to die, focus on that ice-skinned demon standing in the center of the outpost. He’s the commander for sure.’’
But it seemed too late.
The monstrous abomination, shaped like a dragon fused with a shark, stood on its knees while straightening its towering torso. Then, it widened its maw, releasing an icy flame onto the battlefield, freezing everything—even its own side.
Pretty soon, less than half the people there were frozen, then burst apart, sending shards of ice into the midair before they fell like a rain of snow.
The abomination giggled and was about to unleash the next blow when Matt had already leapt into the air, turning into his massive devil form and standing in front of his enemy.
Matt gazed at the abomination with eyes full of murderous intent, as if it were an enemy from centuries ago.
Bobby stood on Matt’s head and quickly triggered his skill, materializing a unique, pure black armor over Matt—an armor able to negate the freezing from the abomination’s skill.
Rocky stood by Matt’s one of gigantic legs while glancing at his fellows.
’’Leave him to me... but prepare for the worst case.’’
Paul gulped in worry when he heard that. He gritted his teeth, remembering his earlier stupid decision. If only he had listened to Rocky’s advice, things wouldn’t have turned out like this.
A commander of an outpost wasn’t an enemy they could deal with. He had already witnessed fights like this back in their stronghold.
He knew what kind of monster that was.
He glanced at Rocky one last time, then turned to the others still alive.
They would retreat, but they still had the advantage of having killed a large number of enemy forces. So if Rocky could hold the commander back, they might be able to carry some supplies and escape.
Paul said,
’’We’ll wait for you... and don’t die too soon.’’
Rocky didn’t reply. At this point, his focus was locked onto the ice-skinned demon ahead.
The noble demon glanced at Rocky indifferently, then shifted his attention to Matt and Bobby. A hint of excitement flickered in his eyes. The corner of his lips curled up as he spoke calmly.
’’A beast from the deepest black zone?... I suppose this is fate between us...’’
