Calculating My Way To Immortality-Chapter 88: Dragon [PART 2]
After everyone had settled down, a woman in red robes embroidered with crossing black serpents stepped onto the elevated platform.
The murmuring crowd quickly quieted down after seeing her.
Her voice, enhanced by qi, carried clearly to every corner of the auction house.
"Honored guests, I welcome you to tonight’s Grand Auction hosted by the Dark Guild."
Yu Tian observed the woman on the platform. Although she was hiding her cultivation, he confirmed through calculation that she had reached the peak of the Nascent Soul Realm. He had also confirmed that she possessed the highest cultivation level here.
Although he was relieved that there weren’t even stronger experts here, he still felt that this wasn’t going to be easy.
"~Hey, Yu Tian... I forgot to ask but...how are we going to afford the soul stones?" Xueling asked. Although they had quite a bit of wealth from selling items to the three righteous sects, there was no way they could afford the soul stones, especially through bidding.
"~Ah, I forgot to tell you. We’re going to steal them," Yu Tian said casually.
"Among our treasures this evening, you will find one hundred mid-grade soul stones, a fragment of a Rebirth Pill - don’t underestimate it just because it’s a fragment. With this, a peak Nascent Soul Realm master should be able to break through to the Soul Formation Realm."
People began murmuring upon hearing this. She wore a wide smile as she watched them talk. She didn’t mind - after all, they were building hype for the items without her even doing anything.
When they had calmed down a bit, she continued, "And finally, today’s top item..." She glanced to the side where a well-dressed man stood. She nodded, and the man pressed a button on the wall.
When the button was pressed, all the doors and windows in the room sealed shut.
Before people could start making a ruckus, the hostess spoke up, "Everyone, calm down. Today’s top product is just too valuable. We have to take a few safety precautions."
Once she said this, the people seemed to settle down.
She then gestured to the man again, and he pressed another button. The ceiling at the front opened up, and a cage began lowering from above. The cage was made from spirit metal and hung on qi-infused chains.
As the cage lowered, the people seemed to recognize the item inside, and their expressions instantly changed.
The host’s eyes swept across the gathering, lingering meaningfully on several VIP cabins where powerful auras emanated. "Looks like I’ll make a huge profit this time," she thought.
"As you can see, today’s top product will be a dragon," she announced. "A genuine, live dragon. Although we don’t know the exact bloodline level, it can fully transform into dragon form, so it’s at least high blood."
When the crowd heard this, they began murmuring once again.
Xueling was still frozen in shock. "Steal?" The word kept repeating in her head. How were they supposed to steal something here in front of all these experts?
"There’s actually a dragon here?" Yu Tian was surprised.
He then smiled. "So that’s why..." From the dragon before him, he felt the same sensation as from that girl who had been looking at him earlier. He wondered if she was also a dragon.
[100%]
Now he understood why his calculation ability showed there was a chance he could steal the soul stones.
"I’m guessing a dragon isn’t here to bid for their kin."
[0%]
...
Yu Tian guessed the dragon was here to save its kin. That meant a battle was about to break out here. This was the chance they needed. When the battle broke out, they needed to quickly grab the soul stones and run.
Of course, it wouldn’t be that easy.
He still needed to do a few more calculations and make a solid plan.
"Before we begin, let this one remind all present - regardless of what distinguished guests grace us with their presence tonight, the Dark Guild recognizes neither status nor bloodline within these walls. Any who disrupt this auction or attempt to seize goods through force will answer to our Guild Master personally. We deal in spirit stones, Dark Guild coins, and treasures. Nothing more, nothing less."
A slight smile curved her lips as she raised her jade gavel. "Now then, let the auction begin!"
"Are we really doing this?" Xueling whispered to Yu Tian.
"Of course. Scared?" he asked.
She placed her hand on her chest. "Of course not," she said with pride. She then sighed. "It’s just..."
Yu Tian smiled. "Don’t worry, I have a plan."
"Alright..."
Well, this was the kind of person Yu Tian was. He had never been wrong before, so all she had to do was listen to him. Still, this was really insane. Stealing from the Dark Guild... although the dark market was seen as a free market, in actuality, it was mostly controlled by the Dark Guild.
From what she’d heard, the Dark Guild was one of the most powerful demonic sects on the continent, with their influence suspected to spread across other continents too.
A few minutes later, people were bidding like crazy.
They weren’t even close to the main items yet, but the bids being made were already many times more than their entire net worth, Yu Tian thought.
"~Get ready. We’re going to make our move soon," he transmitted to Xueling, and she nodded, her eyes never leaving the soul stones at the front.
Yu Tian had made thousands of calculations and had perfected his plan. Somewhat.
He had decided to take advantage of the dragon to make his move. Although the dragon VIP wasn’t that strong - just a Golden Core ultimate peak - he had calculated that she had an accomplice at the mid-stage of the Nascent Soul Realm. Since this girl wanted to save her kin, he would take advantage of when she acted to make his move.
The accomplice of this dragon girl would rush to the hostess, and the dragon girl herself would rush to the caged dragon to rescue him. In that split second, all guards would instantly swarm the dragon girl’s accomplice.
With them doing that, it should be easy for Xueling to swipe the soul stones.
As for him, there was a sixth-grade containment formation surrounding the auction house. It would be his duty to disable the formation. By the time Xueling picked up the item and reached his position, the formation should already be disabled, and they could fly away into the night.
Of course, there were some other things to account for, such as the experts in the crowd, but this was generally how it was going to be.
