Chapter 100: Secret Affairs

"Fight!" Burrito didn’t hesitate, leading his team to charge towards the Moonlight.

Seeing this, Carlotta sighed.

It was hard to know what to say about such a reason for confrontation, but since the other side had made the first move, she wouldn’t show any mercy.

Burrito’s strength was not low; he immediately displayed the level of a ninth-tier apprentice, and the rest of his team were also quite strong.

Facing such a group, Carlotta directly activated the Moonlight, not planning to engage in combat herself.

Although she wasn’t afraid to fight personally, she didn’t want to waste time on this and aimed to end it quickly.

She still wanted to return to the seafloor to take some beautiful photos of Amelia.

"Boom!"

On the Moonlight, a row of energy cannons appeared, and a volley of dazzling white beams shot out, instantly riddling the nearby sailboat with holes, causing it to start sinking immediately.

The Wavebreaker Adventure Group members on the deck were utterly shocked, never expecting that a sailboat like this could unleash such terrifying firepower.

Half of the Wavebreaker Adventure Group members, including their leader Burrito, were killed on the spot by the bombardment.

"How is this possible? Is this even a sailboat? Why can it fire such cannons?"

"No, don’t kill me, I surrender, I can surrender!"

"Help!"

Amid the terrified screams of the remaining Wavebreaker Adventure Group members, a second round of bombardment fell. The intense light erupted, annihilating the group completely, leaving no survivors.

Carlotta didn’t care about their lives; instead, she pondered another issue.

Because she had taken on too many commissions, she might have stirred up resentment among many adventure groups. Groups like the Wavebreaker Adventure Group, who wanted to take her down, were probably not few in number.

"From now on, I can’t directly admit to being from the Moonlight Adventure Group," Carlotta muttered.

She had the pirates search the sinking sailboat, finding some loot.

After confirming there was nothing of value left on the sailboat, the Moonlight set sail again, and Carlotta and Amelia returned to the seafloor.

The rest of the journey was uneventful.

Guided by the information, Carlotta completed one commission after another with ease.

Occasionally, ships would approach to ask if they were the Moonlight Adventure Group, and the pirates on board naturally denied it, so no further disturbances occurred.

Gradually, the sky brightened, but the seafloor grew darker.

The Starlight Sea became quiet. Although the sunlight of day shone down, only the shallow areas had some light, while visibility greatly decreased in the deeper parts.

After Carlotta defeated a sword shark, she had completed all 50 commissions and returned to the Moonlight with Amelia.

"Let’s sleep now; there’s no rush to turn in the commissions. The fastest expiring commission still has three days."

"No problem."

After a busy night, Amelia was naturally a bit sleepy.

The two returned to their respective cabins. As she went back, Carlotta couldn’t help but ponder a question.

’Should I change my routine in the future, sleeping during the day and working at night?’

Mainly, Carlotta felt that after reading the intelligence, she couldn’t sleep peacefully and had to do something, like tonight, which often improved her routine.

Rather than that, it would be better to reverse it earlier.

"After waking up, I can talk to Amelia," Carlotta thought, returning to her bedroom and falling into a deep sleep.

When she woke up again, the sky had darkened once more, and the sea of stars was once again filled with dazzling lights.

Although it was already night, Carlotta took out her clock card and saw that there was still some time before midnight.

She used a cleaning card to wash up, bathed, and then used a fashion card and a wardrobe change card to put on a black, tight-fitting cropped top, paired with matching split-leg pants and low boots. Her red hair fell naturally, giving her the feel of an adventurer.

Amelia had woken up earlier and was already training in the training room. Carlotta noticed but didn’t disturb her, instead first taking care of her first meal after waking up, and then heading to another training room to train.

The 50 commissions she had previously taken were already completed, but Carlotta wasn’t in a hurry to turn them in, planning to wait until after midnight to review the intelligence.

The training lasted until midnight.

"Time flies," Carlotta stopped training, sat down on the chair in the training room, crossed her legs, and summoned the intelligence panel for a look.

[ 1: Recently, besides handling matters at the Adventurers’ Association, Tristian Dalsheim has been secretly meeting with Katrina Nash. This illicit affair brings him great satisfaction. He believes his infidelity is extremely well-hidden, unaware that his wife Sonia Dalsheim has already noticed something amiss, just lacking evidence. In fact, many of the love letters Tristian wrote to Katrina have been treasured by her and hidden under a tree in the yard where they often meet. The location of their secret meetings is shown in the attached map.]

Carlotta’s expression turned somewhat subtle. She hadn’t expected today’s intelligence to be related to Tristian Dalsheim, the vice president of the Adventurers’ Association.

This vice president, who had previously made her want to flip him off, was really no good, actually cheating.

"Poor Mrs. Dalsheim," Carlotta sobbed in her heart.

She thought of Mrs. Clorinde Austin in the imperial city of Kestholm, whose husband had also cheated. Unfortunately, she never got the chance to tell Clorinde before escaping the Wendell Empire.

Hopefully, this lady can be more alert on her own.

Carlotta thought, then looked at the next piece of intelligence.

[ 2: Many adventurer groups have appeared in Pine Town to head to Sky Island. Notable groups include the Shadow Phantom Adventurer Group, the Illusion Thorn Adventurer Group, the Blade Fang Adventurer Group, the Rock Shield Adventurer Group, the Light Sculptor Adventurer Group...]

A large amount of information appears before Carlotta’s eyes, surprising her. She hadn’t expected it to be about other major adventurer groups.

Many adventurer groups were mentioned, even their personnel composition and strength were detailed, giving Carlotta a deeper understanding of the various groups in a short time.

These mentioned adventurer groups were no ordinary ones; they all had listeners among them.

As for those with beings beyond Listeners... adventurer groups with such powerful members had already entered Sky Island and weren’t mentioned in this intelligence.

"Pine Town is quite crowded," Carlotta remarked.

It’s just unknown how many of these strong adventurer groups will eventually enter Sky Island.

She looked at the third piece of intelligence.

[ 3: Tristian, the vice president of the Adventurers’ Association, has already figured out how to allocate the Sky Island spots. He has heard the rumors circulating outside and scoffs at the idea of buying spots with contribution points. He would never use such a crude method. He decided to give the spots to familiar people, those with good relations. His wife Sonia opposes this, believing that giving spots only to connections is not good, but Tristian insists.]

Seeing this intelligence, Carlotta’s face immediately darkened.

Numerous adventurers and adventurer groups have been working hard around Pine Town, completing commissions to earn contribution points, only to find that obtaining a Sky Island spot has nothing to do with the amount of contribution points?

Then what was the point of her taking on 50 commissions at once?

Carlotta hadn’t expected this vice president to have no sense of fairness or justice, only wanting to give Sky Island spots to connections.

What a scoundrel.

This wasn’t good news for her, as she currently had no other way to get to Sky Island. With the Adventurers’ Association pulling this stunt, what was she supposed to do?

After some thought, Carlotta’s expression turned fierce, "Since you’re not acting human, don’t blame me for exposing your affair."

There were only three pieces of intelligence today.

After reading them, Carlotta put on her Illusion Mask and hurried off to find Amelia.

When Amelia came out of the training room looking for Carlotta, she found out that Carlotta had sneaked off alone, leaving Amelia puzzled about what Carlotta was up to.

...

Pine Town.

Carlotta walked quietly over, blending in with the crowd, completely inconspicuous. The face she made with the Illusion Mask was new, and no one would recognize her.

As she walked, she reviewed the intelligence. The first piece today not only mentioned Tristian’s affair but also included a map, clearly indicating Tristian’s secret meeting place in Pine Town.

Passing by the Adventurers’ Association, Carlotta glanced inside and saw that Tristian, the vice president, was currently in the association hall, handling official business.

She looked away and continued on, soon arriving at Tristian’s secret meeting place according to the map.

It was a house with a yard, quite beautiful, the best building on the current street, but it was dark now, with no one inside.

Only during their secret meetings would Tristian and Katrina come here. At other times, no one came, and Katrina wouldn’t come alone, as she was also a married woman.

Carlotta had actually heard of Katrina Nash. The current commander of Pine Town’s garrison was called Nick Nash, Katrina’s husband, who still didn’t know he had been cuckolded.

Nick Nash wasn’t the local garrison commander but had been temporarily assigned to Pine Town by the Brandon Kingdom from elsewhere after Sky Island appeared and people gathered in Pine Town. He was no ordinary person.

Yet, even such a remarkable figure had been cuckolded by Tristian Dalsheim, the vice president of the Adventurers’ Association, in such a short time.
