CASSANDRA: The Unfavored Princess-Chapter 93: Real Truth
All the dukes were silent. They knew that the origin story differed from what the royal family portrayed.
The Dukes had a copy of the original at their place but it was confiscated by the Royal Family. It was done centuries ago so no one doubted it even though all the Ducal families knew that there was some hidden agenda behind this.
Duke Garfield’s eyes narrowed. "So according to you, the story is far different than what we have known through the centuries."
"Maybe it is." Duke Crawford said in a soft tone as if he was in deep thoughts. "It was said that the founding Dukes had made some sort of deal with the first Emperor."
"Yes, that is why I want Achard to go and understand the truth." Duke Bentham looked down with a sly smile. "I feel like we should not object to it to know the real truth."
Aiden looked at everyone with a smile. He tapped his fingers on the table as he said in a low tone. "Maybe we should discuss this after the ball."
All the Dukes thought about it for a while. Everyone thought that it was necessary to think now. A short break is required to clear out their mind.
"Okay."

Princess Cassandra could not sleep. Her mind was full of thoughts.
’What is happening?’
’Why cannot I take my mind out of those thoughts?’
’Should I really go to the Vivere Kingdom?’
’Will I get the desired results?’
Cassandra rested her head on her hands as a smile formed on her face. ’I really want to know about these powers.’
’Is it related to my mother?’
’Why does Prince Carl know about my mother?’
’Does he really know about my mother?’
Cassandra’s mind was filled with thoughts. Her eyes blurred as she could not come to any decision.
"Why is the Princess always in deep thoughts whenever I come by?" Duke Salvador asked as he smiled.
Princess Cassandra looked back with a surprised gaze. Ed was standing there with the mask on his face. A smile played on Cassandra’s lips unknown to her.
"Why do you always come by without making any sound?" Cassandra asked with a narrowed gaze.
"I do not come here without any sound. I am a knight that was trained throughout my life. I have to walk around without any noise to survive." Aiden laughed as he sat beside the fifth Princess.
"How are you feeling?" Duke Salvador asked in a soft tone as his hand relaxed.
Princess Cassandra’s gaze looked down. She swallowed hard. "I don’t know. I am confused as to what should be done."
"What is troubling you? Why don’t you tell me? I might be able to help you. We are friends after all." Duke Salvador said. His body moved forward a little to listen to Princess Cassandra’s words more clearly.
"I do not want to go to the Vivere Kingdom but I want to go there as well." Princess Cassandra smiled helplessly.
"I thought you wanted to go there as well." Duke Salvador said. His eyes blinked in a daze.
"I do but I am afraid. I am afraid that I will be alone there." Cassandra’s voice turned low. "When Lord Bentham first told me that he wanted to marry me I did not know how to react. How can a popular man like the Lord want someone like me?"
Princess Cassandra giggled in a sad tone. "But as he explained his point of view, my unsteady heart became stable. He needed a partner in the name so that people would not want him to fight over the Duke’s title and I needed a person to get me out of the palace."
"It was like freedom for me. My heart was at rest looking at the harmless face of the Lord." Cassandra chuckled at her childishness. "But who would have known that it would turn out like this?"
"The man who gave me a good feeling wanted to take me to a place away from here. Am I going to be caged in the Vivere Kingdom again? Even if I want to go there with Lord Bentham, will the Emperor send me without a marriage?" Princess Cassandra rubbed her hands on her head. "So many things are not making any sense. I wanted to marry a soldier. Leave this palace and move out. I was about to get my freedom and now this."
"It was okay to marry anyone then, but now that Lord Bentham had said to act and not really marry him. But now I do not want to get married. The Lord had broken my trust." Princess Cassandra’s gaze shook. "Now I feel like the Lord has broken my trust."
"Lord Bentham had broken the trust of many. Maybe of people very dear to him." Aiden smiled as he looked into Princess Cassandra’s eyes.
Cassandra was silent for a few seconds before she looked down. It was true that Lord Bentham had broken many peoples’ trust. No one knew how hard the other Dukes were reacting at this but Princess Cassandra was sure that they might not be happy.
"The fifth Princess does not want to marry Lord Bentham right?" Duke Salvador asked with a narrowed gaze.
"Initially I wouldn’t have minded." Princess Cassandra sighed. There was disappointment in her tone as she played with her fingers. The uneasiness that came with talking about the situation was high. "But now I don’t want to marry him."
Cassandra looked at Duke Salvador’s eyes. "Yet I want to go to the Vivere Kingdom. Is it too abrupt?"
Duke Salvador’s eyes softened as he shook his head in denial. "It is not abrupt at all. It is what the Princess is feeling and no one can control such thoughts. Thoughts are usually weird, even I get them at points. It is brave of the Princess that she is talking about it and taking action for it."
"Taking an action?" Princess Cassandra asked as her head tilted. "Have I taken action on them?"
"Saying them out loud is a step towards action." Duke Salvador smiled. "And I will take it forward from this."
Duke Salvador’s eyes shined brightly. "I will make sure that the fifth Princess’s wishes come true."
Aiden looked into Princess Cassandra’s gaze. "You will not marry Lord Bentham but will be able to go in the Vivere Kingdom well protected. The freedom that you have always dreamed about will be granted to you, and no one will be able to take it away."
Princess Cassandra looked at Ed. She smiled but did not say any words. It was true that if it was him then things would be much simpler.
’But can he really do it?’ Cassandra wondered.
"You should trust me, Princess. I will never let you down." Aiden said playfully. His eyes showed the determination and seriousness of his words.
Cassandra was lost in that gaze as she nodded her head. "I do trust you."
"So then the Princess should not worry about anything else. I will take care of everything." Duke Salvador said as he wished that the fifth Princess would not worry about such trivial things.

"Is Princess Valeria still concerned about it?" The secretary said in a soft tone as he moved towards the first Princess.
"HOW WOULD I NOT BE?" Princess Valeria shouted as the frustration was getting on her mind. "THESE HANDCUFFS ARE NOT LEAVING ME AND NOW YOU AND YOUR SILLY WORDS MAKE ME WANT TO KILL SOMEONE."
The secretary smiled as he stood in a place. "Do not worry Princess. The Emperor will come soon to remove these handcuffs. We have the ball tomorrow. And a very important day."
"HAA HA .." Princess Valeria laughed sarcastically. "IMPORTANT DAY? WHAT IMPORTANT DAY? WHAT HAVE YOU DONE FOR ME SO FAR? ALL I HAVE DONE IS TO TRY MOVING THE ELEMENTS THAT I CANNOT MOVE A INCH."
"But you will be able to do it soon."
"WHEN?" Princess Valeria’s eyes were burning with rage. Her hands were itching to burn the man in front of her. Princess Valeria knew that if she could not hold the position of the next Emperor in hand by the end of the Royal ball, she would definitely kill the secretary in pure annoyance.
"Today." The secretary said with a smile. "The first Princess will be able to use all the elemental powers today. But you need to control it today."
Princess Valeria was silent for a second. Her eyes shook a little as she blinked her eyes. "Today?"
The secretary came forward as he took something out from his pocket. "This will get you the power you would need to prove that you can control all four elements."
Princess Valeria’s eyes expanded. "This?" She could not believe that something so small can help her get a hold of all four elements.
"Yes. This is something that would help you to claim the position of the Emperor."
Princess Valeria could not believe it. "These crystals?" She asked as she looked at the clear crystals in the secretary’s hand.
