Chapter 241: Chapter 241: Blade Levels

Psycho-Blade was a very simple Psionic Skill. It could be categorized as the simplest Psionic Skill out there.

The user could use their imagination to summon their preferred weapon.

Mater had analyzed Selina’s Blade Core from top to bottom and learned how it operated. He taught her a different way to use this core.

Instead of imagination, Mater taught Selina to use her heart to manipulate it. Chaos was close to one’s emotions and using the heart instead of the mind was the superior tactic.

This method, however, prevented Selina from creating her preferred weapon. Instead, she had to use whatever it materialized for her.

Mater called this technique Chaos-Blade.

Selina clenched the practice core. Chaos wrapped around the metal rod and penetrated inside its components.

Energy shot out from within the rod and formed a dark sinister blade. That blade split and created four other blades, each with its own uniqueness.

The blade in Selina’s hand was plain, reliable, with a straight wide blade. Its guard spread to either side and was broad like a cross. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝚠𝕖𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝕖𝚕.𝚌𝗼𝗺

The other four swords.

The first had a thin blade with no guard.

The second had a wide frame and no edges.

The third was twice as long as the usual blade and was a great sword. It had two guards, a big guard near the hilt, and a smaller identical pair down the blade.

The fourth one had serrated edges with the guards pointing toward the ground.

"Four blades? How could this be?" Oscar frowned.

He had seen many things in his services. But never a Blade Cores that could create five different blades.

May squinted her eyes. John had told her about her mission. She needed to make sure that Selina could never get out of the Institute with a diploma or alive. But this task may be much more difficult than she thought.

Professor Brand’s lips curved up.

"You already reached the second level of Psycho-Blade. As expected of the daughter of a PHANTOM."

A student raised their hand. They obviously wanted to know what the levels of the Psycho-Blade were.

Professor Brand gestured to the student to lower their hand before they could speak.

"Psycho-Blade had three levels in total. Shock Blade. Unity Blade. And Spirit Blade.

Shock Blade is the basic level. You can use the core to make the weapon of your choice. No additional perks.

Unity Blade is when you can fuse your Psycho Force with the core and create a unique blade. A blade that is different for everyone. Each blade would have their own unique abilities and power. Miss Isles here has reached it."

"What is Spirit Blade, Professor?" A student said.

"A Spirit Blade is where you create your own natural Blade Core. Not the artificial core you’re using."

Professor Brand opened her hand. A small fiery core appeared on her palm.

"This is a Spirit Core. And this is my Spirit Blade."

Flame engulfed the core and transformed into a bright red sword with flame ornament.

Then it quickly disappeared. "Unfortunately, a Spirit Blade Core is much more powerful than the usual Mechanical Blade Core so I can’t show you its power."

Professor Brand clapped her hand, "Let’s continue."

Aside from Selina, Oscar, and May, the other students weren’t quite as successful in summoning their blade.

The fourth person that managed to materialize their blade was Ken. His choice of weapon was a large curve blade with only one edge. The blade was as big as him and was thrice the size of any normal blade.

"Oh? You pick a rather unique weapon, Ken." Selina said.

Ken nodded, "This is a traditional blade. Less famous than the usual long sword or heavy sword."

Ken swung the curved blade around. The blade curved only slightly to maximize the destruction it could do. It had a very broad blade and did not have the finesse that a weapon like the katana had.

After Ken, quite a few other students managed to summon their blade.

"You need to focus. Don’t force your way into the circuit of the core." Professor Brand walked around and guided the students. Not everyone was a genius like the first three.

Cole and Miles also managed to summon their blade.

Cole was a large baton with a blunted edge. The perfect crowd control weapon for an officer like him but lacks the lethality of a normal sword.

Miles was the only one that had a normal blade. For him, Psycho-Blade was the sub class, not the main class. His main class was the Psycho Mechanic so he wasn’t that good in offense.

The class took the entire afternoon and ended Selina’s first day in university. It wasn’t that gruesome like how she remembered school was like.

The black cat got bored and had climbed out of the window after Selina successfully summoned the Psycho-Blade.

Mater still had business he needed to attend to.

Crow had agreed to become a fighter for the Luciente’s Trial of Combat. Tommy was the patriarch of the Luciente Family. But apart from him, there were several capos, leaders that were under Tommy that managed the street-level made men.

Tommy had suggested Crow to be the fighter but Crow also needed to prove himself in front of his capos.

The black cat climbed onto the roof of the university, waiting for his ride. Soon. A black crow flew over and landed by his side.

"Master!" The crow bowed.

"Let’s go." The black cat jumped on the large crow’s back as it flew away.

Erin was trailing off in class. She looked out to the window and saw everything, the crow landing on the roof and bowing to the black cat.

"Is this cat some kind of evil overlord or something?"

Mater and Crow flew to the meeting place with Tommy.

"When we’re there, don’t tell them I am your Master."

"Roger, Master."

Crow landed in an empty alley and turned back to his Abomination Form. He caught the materialized fedora in the air and put it on his head.

The ground in front of them split open as Sparrow climbed up. Sparrow wore a striped suit with open chest. He looked like some kind of performer.

"Master!" Sparrow climbed.

"Very nice suit, Sparrow." The black cat meowed.

"Thank you, Master. It’s what Miss Isles has chosen for me."

Going to a crime family meeting without a back-up was a foolish idea. It’d show your weakness. So Mater arranged Sparrow to go with Crow. Tommy and his capos needed to know that Crow was not alone.

"Let’s go."
