849 The Final Battle III

Far away from the bloody war, where every single person was giving their all to defeat the dark side and the shadow generals, Kyle glanced up as he sensed an eerie, familiar presence looming above him.

His calm gaze locked onto the obsidian eyes of Azazeal, who towered above him, shrouded in an aura of darkness.

Azazeal glanced around the land engulfed in golden light, sensing the array Kyle had engraved in Avalon. He raised his fingers to count just what the human was up to this time, but before he could, Kyle smiled at him, causing him to pause.

He furrowed his brows. Because the smile was very genuine, with a hint of something he had never seen in the human's gaze—at least not directed at himself. Thrill.

It was as if the human was telling him that the real battle had begun and now only one of them would emerge victorious.

However, how could that be possible? He wasn't strong enough to take him on.

"You are—"

Kyle didn't interrupt him. He just vanished from Avalon, leaving him in silence.

Azazeal's eyes narrowed ominously, as if measuring the weight of the world itself.

He wanted to calculate the future to see if it had changed, but his eyes widened when he sensed the presence of a Celestial spirit in the location where Kyle had vanished.

"What... This is the same as what I saw. He's leading me to the Celestial spirits."

This was the first time he felt so bewildered as he hastily vanished toward Kyle's current location, shrouded in an unsettling aura.

His eyes darkened further, and two familiar purple slits that seemed to absorb the very light around them appeared within his dark eyes. Something was wrong, but he could not quite grasp the source of his unease.

Azazeal entered the Sea of Consciousness. His dark gaze immediately fixed on the lone human floating above the still waters. His lips curled upward into a sneer.

"Then I must ensure he fails in whatever scheme he is concocting in that thick skull of his, even after being aware of the vast difference in strength between us."

Kyle was a considerable distance away from him, yet he could see him clearly and discern every movement he made.

A familiar, faint blue aura of a Celestial encircled his body as his false appearance faded, replaced by his true Celestial form.

The blue aura radiated and shimmered, announcing his presence with undeniable intensity that resonated throughout the entire Sea of Consciousness.

A short distance behind Kyle, a Celestial spirit that had surged out of the clear Sea of Consciousness was racing toward him with frightening speed, sensing his aura.

The large formless spirit glowed with a dense spiritual energy surrounding it that surpassed the brightly lit sky above the Sea and emitted a familiar, enchanting melody.

However, Kyle didn't move.

Instead, he remained still with his back turned to the huge entity, staring at Azazeal with a smile, as if urging him to capture the Celestial spirit he had found for him.

Azazeal's gaze turned solemn. He was standing in a separate dimension, so the spirit couldn't sense him. However, what gave the human such confidence to let the dangerous spirit come near him?

The spirit wasn't weak; it wasn't called a Celestial for nothing. It could gravely harm him if he remained so defenseless. Also, it had the ability to absorb the Celestial power of another as long as it was pure.

Azazeal tore his gaze away from the spirit and fixed it on Kyle, who was staring at him with an intensity that could pierce through the very fabric of reality. He also remained perfectly still, as if time itself had paused.

"Let's see what you plan to do."

These were his words, spoken with a calmness that resonated in the air.

Even though Kyle couldn't hear him, he could read his lips. His smile widened, and what he did next sent shockwaves through Azazeal, causing his expression, which was always composed and devoid of emotion, to finally reveal signs of cracking.

Kyle's green eyes turned white, and an aura of the natural law of darkness surged forth from every direction around him under his command before quickly wrapping around the spirit like a predator stalking its prey.

Immediately, the Celestial spirit let out a chilling, bone-rattling cry as its huge figure began to shrink. It struggled to escape, and the melody that had once flowed from it faded into anguished cries.

Kyle was doing the exact actions Azazeal had performed before him many times. He had realized that the easiest way to capture the spirit was by using natural laws. Also, now he was strong enough to capture it.

His intention was clear: If you aren't going to take this spirit, I will absorb it into my body to get stronger. The air crackled with tension as the battle lines were drawn.

Azazeal's eyes trembled as he shouted.

"You dare! They are mine!"

He tore through space and, in an instant, was next to the spirit and captured it. Kyle watched him from behind and spoke up.

"I sensed this spirit the last time I was here. As for the rest, I don't know where they are. So, let's find them together, shall we?"

Azazeal absorbed the Celestial spirit as it transformed into a dark core and landed in his palm. He gazed at Kyle, contemplating whether to kill him now to end his unease. This was becoming annoying.

But before he could reach a conclusion, Kyle's voice interrupted his thoughts.

"Three more to go. You wanted me to help you find them, so I will do just that."

Then he turned and vanished once more, leaving behind solemn words that carried a greater threat than the others.

"Make sure to follow, or who knows, I might end up consuming them before you do."

Azazeal's raised a brow. What was up with Kyle? Doesn't he realize that he can kill him at any moment now that his essence can no longer interfere to save him?

He wanted to calculate the future. Yet, he stopped. He was stronger, so much so that he could easily kill Kyle. So, even if the man was scheming, he could easily handle him.

"I suppose you have a death wish. But I'm curious to see what you are planning, my friend. It was getting boring anyway."

He chuckled and followed behind him as they traversed the universe, searching for the spirits that would emerge because of the celestial aura Kyle had left expanded.

No one could even sense the two as they passed by because they were just too fast.
