Chapter 33: Chapter 32: I Choose You

Jay couldn’t focus.

Not on work. Not on emails. Not on anything.

She stared at her laptop for ten minutes... and didn’t read a single word.

Her mind kept replaying one thing:

"Do you trust me?"

And her answer...

Or the lack of it.

She groaned and shut her laptop.

"I can’t do this," she said.

Aries looked up from the couch. "Finally. You realized."

Jay threw a pillow at him. "This is your fault too."

"How??"

"You told me to think."

"That’s called good advice."

Percy walked in, holding his phone. "What’s happening? Why does she look like she just lost a war?"

Jay stood up suddenly.

"I’m going to Keifer."

Aries blinked. "Oh. Okay. That was fast."

Percy grinned. "Dramaaaa." 𝕗𝚛𝚎𝚎𝐰𝗲𝗯𝗻𝚘𝚟𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝕞

Jay grabbed her bag. "You’re both coming with me."

"Why?" Aries asked.

"For support."

Percy nodded proudly. "I am very supportive. And handsome. Double bonus."

"No one asked," Aries said.

Watson Enterprises. 20 minutes later.

Jay didn’t wait.

Didn’t stop.

Didn’t think.

She walked straight into the building like a storm.

Employees stared.

"Is that her?"

"She looks serious."

"She always looks serious—"

Jay ignored all of them.

She reached Keifer’s office.

The door was slightly open.

She pushed it wide—

And ran inside.

"KEIFER—"

She stopped.

He was standing near the window.

Back facing her.

Hands in his pockets.

Still.

Quiet.

Honey stood beside him, holding a tablet.

She turned when Jay came in, surprised.

Jay didn’t care.

Her heart was beating too fast.

Her chest felt tight.

She ran.

Straight to him.

Wrapped her arms around his back.

Held him tight.

"I’m sorry," she said quickly, her voice shaking. "I’m so, so sorry. I didn’t mean it. I was scared and confused and stupid and I said the wrong thing and—"

Keifer froze.

Completely.

Jay pressed her face against his back.

"I trust you," she said softly. "I do. I choose you. Even if everything goes wrong... I still choose you."

Silence.

Then—

Slowly—

Keifer turned around.

Jay didn’t let go.

She looked up at him.

Eyes a little red.

"But you have to tell me everything," she added. "No more secrets. Okay?"

Keifer stared at her.

Then his arms came around her.

Pulled her closer.

"Okay," he said quietly.

Jay smiled.

Small. Real.

Behind them—

Honey quietly covered her mouth, trying not to smile too big.

Percy leaned against the doorframe, grinning like an idiot.

Aries crossed his arms, nodding slowly. "Good. Took you long enough."

Jay didn’t even look back.

She was still holding Keifer.

Percy clapped once. "Alright! Emotional moment complete. Now let’s talk about how amazing I am for supporting this relationship."

Aries rolled his eyes. "You did nothing."

"I EXISTED," Percy said proudly. "That’s already a lot."

Honey laughed softly.

Jay finally pulled back from Keifer, but she didn’t let go of his hand.

She glanced at Percy. "You’re embarrassing."

"I’m iconic," Percy corrected.

Keifer looked at Jay, a small smile on his face.

"You ran here?" he asked.

"Yes."

"Didn’t even knock."

"I don’t knock when I’m fixing my mistakes."

He almost laughed.

Almost.

Jay squeezed his hand. "Now tell me everything."

Keifer nodded.

"I will."

He looked at Honey.

"Show her."

Honey stepped forward and placed the tablet on the table.

"There’s something you both need to see," she said.

Percy leaned closer. "Is this where the mystery music plays?"

"No," Aries said. "This is where you shut up."

Percy gasped. "Rude."

Jay ignored them.

Her eyes were on the screen.

Something serious was coming.

But this time—

She wasn’t alone.

She looked at Keifer.

He looked back.

And this time—

There was no doubt.

Whatever was coming...

They would face it together.
