Chapter 240: New findings

"What kind of a situation." Jing Lihua was not happy.

"Our ranks might have been infiltrated by our competitors. There seem to be some agents deliberately planted to cause chaos." Mei Xiu's tone turned sour as she informed.

Jing Lihua's expressions were far worse than Mei Xiu. She did not need to think twice from whom those specific 'competitors' were being prompted. "Is this what Chen Yuefang had been hinting at when he had told us that President Su is planning something?"

"Unfortunately, no", said Mei Xiu.

"Oh, are they up to something worse?"

"Yup," Mei Xiu sighed. "It seems like after Su Lanfen incident, they are hell-bent on making us fall. They had shown interest in purchasing a few mid-tiers malls in the neighboring areas. Our said 'competitors' are no one other than the subsidiaries of the Su Enterprise."

Jing Lihua felt a surge of anger and frustration coursing through her veins.

At some point in time, she might have fanatic wishes for revenge. But after finding Li Zhiqiang, her priorities had shifted. She just wanted to prove herself to be worthy of his companionship. Get married to him and live a normal life.

Yet, this Su family continued to throw obstacles in her way. "It has to do with things much more than Su Lanfen." The way he cold-heartedly discarded his blood daughter, this Su Donghai definitely not cared for taking revenge for his daughter.

As for Su Liwei, since he returned to President position and actively caused trouble for her, he was also not definitely going to let her be.

"We will discuss the course of action in the office." Jing Lihua walked off the room.

There was still a lot more Mei Xiu wanted to report. Once Jing Lihua disappeared in the distance, she sighed and dialed up to Heng Bingwen. "Listen, about the new findings on President's mother's death, don't share it with her as of yet. She appeared to be a bit exhausted. Let's give her some space. In the coming days, she would need a lot of energy to manage the rapidly expanding things."

"Sir, when are we going to take action?" The adviser felt as if Mr. Qn had been avoiding the matter. However, he couldn't let him continue with this practice for long.

Qin Nianzu cast a glance towards his adviser. The chilliness over his face had his subordinate shudder involuntarily. "Since when did you acquire the privilege to question me?"

The adviser quickly explained, bowing down his head in panic. "Sir, several factions have been pressurizing us from all sides. I would not have dared to bring this up if not for them."

Qin Nianzu remained silent for some time,

not uttering a word. The adviser did not get the cue thus he continued to bow before his Master, unable to see his face and make out his expressions.

It was not that he had not expected this outcome. What surprised him was that it was still too sudden. After all, the head of the Li family was at his death bed, the elder son was not in the company while the youngest son was still too young.

Families in his faction wanted him to make use of this golden opportunity and strike while the iron was still hot.

Countless pairs of eyes observed his each and every action.

As he continued to stand back in silence, not taking any action, people began to grow restless.

This was all under his expectations.

But having his advisor coming with the news so soon was out of his calculation.

"They need to know who is the head." Finally, he said those words.

The indifferent tone had the adviser sharply let out a breath of relief. He straightened, looking at his Master. "Sir, they definitely do. I will get back and convey your words to them." The adviser started to retreat when Qin Nianzu called to him.

"Stop," he stood up, catching up the adviser. "How is the progress with the investigation on their project in Beijing."

The adviser faced his Master with great reverence. "Sir, we have contacted the Tang enterprise rivals in business. Some sources hint at the possibility of them possessing a draft of the classified documents shared between the Li family and the Tang enterprise. The matter is still under investigation."

Qin Niqnzu narrowed his eyes. "That is highly unlikely. There is no power capable of rivaling the Li family in that place. How would they have succeeded in stealing those documents?"

The adviser quickly said. "What Sir said is precise. But the leak was from the Tang Enterprise side." The adviser's face shifted; once again his expressions hinted at derision when speaking of Tang Enterprise. "As we already know, a relatively young novice is currently presiding that company, and she is a female no top of that. So that might have been the reason why the contracts were leaked."

"Very well," Qin Nianzu's eyes were cold. Unlike his adviser, there wasn't any derision in them. From his indifferent expressions, his adviser could not discern his original feelings. But then again, no one could. "If the investigation results in the smallest possibility of those rivals possessing the documents, make sure to get your hands on them first." With that said, Qin Nianzu walked back to his table. "You are dismissed."

"Yes, Sir." With another bow of his head, the adviser retreated.

Once the door closed, there was a flash of light in his eyes. He didn't

go back to his office instead, he went to another different room in the estate.

"Madam," He bowed.

"What did he say?" A woman in her forties sat over the couches. Dressed in extravagant, one-of-the-kind dress, she held an exquisite glass of wine in her hands. Her appearance was striking. She looked at least a decade younger than her real age.

"Madam, rest assured, the reason Sir is not taking action is that he wanted to be certain at first. He had ordered me to first get my hands on further information."

"It better be the case," said the woman bitterly before taking a sip of her wine, "I don't want to be the bad guy again."
