CEO's Contract Obsession-Chapter 355: [Bonus - ] Back in Her Arms

Mary could not believe how easy it was to ask Amy to fire Tom. She even planned some things to do in her mind a while ago to uncover the negative side of Tom. But now, Amy will just fire him like that.

"You’re kidding, right?" Mary asked in hesitation.

"No, I am not. But let’s just finish sending off Ash first. We need employees at his funeral so I can’t fire him right away."

"OK, I understand... Now let’s all rest. The hospital staff will coordinate with the funeral service and Ash will be on priority so they told us to expect him ready by tomorrow afternoon at least," Mary explained.

"Alright. I will sleep in my room. Avery wants to stay in the tent with the others. He is enjoying it there. He surely doesn’t understand yet that his father is gone. I think it’s good in a way. He will not become too sad about Ash’s passing." Amy said.

"Are you sure you don’t want to stay here with us?" Sandra asked in worry.

"No. I want to be alone. Don’t worry, I will not harm myself like I did when Henry passed away. I am in my right mind now and I just really want to spend the night alone in a quiet place."

Mary and Sandra did not ask further and let Amy do what she wanted.

Unknown to others, Amy did not go to her room. She went to the guestroom that Ash often used when he stayed there when they were kids.

It holds so many memories of Ash, her brother, Mary, and her. She lay down on the bed and her tears flowed uncontrollably. She and Ash have talked about his passing a million times ever since they found out that his disease is terminal.

They had made plans for the Brighton Industry which would go to Avery when he grew up. He even made letters and videos for his son. But nothing prepared her for the actual day.

She thought that she would not be sad since Ash will no longer be in pain. She thought that she would be fine since Ash was able to settle everything concerning his son and business. She thought that everything would go smoothly according to their plan.

Nothing happened between her and Ash during their marriage but they loved each other, just like how they loved each other since they were kids. They are family not bound by blood but bound by heart.

"Ash..." Amy uttered as she recalled all their happy memories together. He was the man who stood by her side when her family died. His shoulders were always there for her to lean on.

As Amy sobs while hugging the pillow, she suddenly feels a hand and arm slowly encircling her waist, pulling her closer.

"Most of his years were spent loving me, and he died miserably," Amy uttered in between her sobs.

"You know that’s not true. He was thankful to you. He found his true love and became a family with you in the end. His memory and Ava’s will live on with Avery. Both loved you so much that they wanted to leave you a piece of them with you when they’re gone," Henry said. 𝚏𝕣𝐞𝗲𝐰𝕖𝐛𝐧𝕠𝕧𝚎𝚕.𝐜𝚘𝗺

"You think so?"

"I am sure of it, love," Henry assured as he wiped Amy’s tears. "Now, what is this I’m hearing that you will fire me?"

That question made Amy laugh while still in tears, "Thanks for reminding me. Yes, you are fired, Mr. Thomas White. I will have my Henry Welsh now."

"Just how did that happen?"

"I will tell you but I want you to tell me what happened to you," Amy then turned around facing Henry.

"OK, but I want our lawyers to be present when I say it. I don’t want to add more to your sadness. So tell me what did I do to get fired?"

"Mary doesn’t trust you. She thinks you are a social climber or perhaps sent by the mastermind," Amy explained.

"Dimitri, Vanessa, and Francis are the masterminds. I am not sure what happened to Dimitri if he is still alive, but I want Vanessa and Francis to rot in jail," Henry said. Just recalling what he had been through made him very furious.

"Alright let’s do that. I can’t believe that you are back to me. I feel like I am dreaming." Amy was hesitating to ask but asked it anyway, "What are your plans, my love?"

"I want justice... They took me away from all of you. I simply cannot forgive that even if they saved me from the explosion," Henry clenched his fist, but Amy felt it and held his hand.

"I will support whatever decisions you will make," Amy said.

"I also plan to do what I promised you and Jayson five years ago. I will marry you in church and in front of everyone we know. But before I can do that, I have to leave you again."

Amy craned her neck and looked at Henry waiting for his answer.

"I spent a year in Brookegrove, before coming here. Mr. Wilson helped me hide, even his son didn’t know who I was. He also helped me find the best plastic surgeon there is. I want to be myself again when I face our children and when I face you at the altar. Do you think you could wait for me again?" Henry asked.

Amy touched Henry’s face and kissed him gently, "I will wait for you, my love. Do what you have to do, and I will just right here waiting. I will be able to bear it this time knowing that you are alive and will be back soon."

"Thank you, love. Now that it’s settled, I want to leave tomorrow. Plus you already fired me. I just want to get back as soon as possible," Henry said.

"That’s unfair. Now I have to deal with Mary alone," Amy pouted, she could already imagine what are the things that Mary would say to her.

Henry chuckled and kissed her forehead, "You can do it, love. You have been dealing with her all your life. I will talk to Rei and Anton about the case against Vanessa, Dimitri, and Francis tomorrow. For now please go and rest. I will leave early, I need to settle a lot of things."

Amy nodded and closed her eyes. She just feels so at ease going to sleep. It has been years since she had an easy time falling asleep. But now that Henry is back, even if he leaves her again, she can sleep peacefully knowing that, he will be back in her arms.
