CEO's Reborn Wife-Chapter 2089 - 2097: Blowing Up Balloons
When Brooke Black and the others returned, they saw Jane Sampson bouncing around the living room like a little madwoman. "Aunt~" As soon as Brooke walked in, Jane ran over to her, hugged her tightly, then whispered in her ear, "We’ll soon have news about James Black!"
Bright Sampson and Peter Gingery, who came in through the back door, were dumbfounded.
"That’s it, Bright, your sister’s been cooped up in the house for a few days, and she’s gone crazy." Peter quickly walked forward, keeping his distance from Jane as if afraid of catching something.
"What’s making my sister so happy?" Bright could immediately see how excited and joyful Jane was at that moment. He scratched his head, pondering to himself, surely it wasn’t because the spooky coffin was taken away that Jane became this happy?
"I’ll tell you then." Jane released Brooke. "Did everything go smoothly this morning?"
"Everything was arranged in advance, so it went quite smoothly. Although some media tried to tail us, we shook them off. These media folks, really, are so annoying, always wanting to stick their noses into everything," Peter replied on behalf of Brooke about the morning’s events.
A few minutes later, Old Master Black came out of his room with his mobile phone, and said to Jane and Brooke, "When there’s news over there, they’ll call me immediately. Let’s have a meal first; we should have results soon."
The discovery Jane made even got the usually poised Old Master Black a bit excited.
The Harper Black family didn’t return after leaving in the morning, and Father Gingery went to the company, so at noon, it was just Jane and the few in the house having a meal.
Since Jane returned, Aunt has been making all kinds of delicious food for her every day.
Feeling happy, even Jane’s appetite improved.
She gulped down her meal, sipped soup heartily, and devoured meat.
"James said if I gain one catty, he’ll give me a reward. When he returns, I want him to reward me until he cries!" Jane declared with ambition, "I aim to gain ten catties in a month!"
"A balloon?" Peter blurted out.
"Don’t dampen her enthusiasm," Brooke chided Peter, "Can’t you say something encouraging? Look at her skinny arms and legs, what’s wrong with putting on some weight?"
"Right, even if you gain more than ten pounds, you’ll still look great on camera," Bright wholly agreed with Jane gaining weight. Since the Sampton Family’s two elders passed away, Jane had been getting thinner and thinner. With this big incident happening, the moment Bright saw Jane at the Black Family home, he could tell she had lost weight again.
She was almost gaunt.
It was only because she had stayed at the Black Family home for a few days that despite being thin, her spirits were high. Otherwise, Bright would have suspected that when Jane first returned, she must have looked pale and emaciated.
Aunt laughed upon hearing Jane’s bold words.
"Alright then, from now on, I’ll prepare three meals for you every day, afternoon tea in the afternoon, and a late-night snack at night. You need to nurture your body by eating small, frequent meals every day, and you’ll surely gain weight."
After saying that, Aunt happily went back to the kitchen to serve Jane some soup.
After being scolded by Brooke, Peter grinned at Jane with a toothy smile. He wasn’t trying to kill Jane’s motivation; he just purely didn’t believe she could gain ten catties in a month.
Not long after the meal, while Aunt was still washing dishes in the kitchen, Old Master Black’s mobile phone rang.
