CEO's Sweetheart is a Super Idol-Chapter 491 - 483: Introducing a Friend
Dawn
Why are you up so early?
The still drowsy Zhang Yuzhe looked at Li Jiaqi, who was washing her face.
This woman seemed to become more radiant by the day—her fresh, delicate face resembled the morning glow outside the window.
Li Jiaqi felt very uncomfortable with the way he was staring at her; she had already tried her best to act ordinary.
"Yuzhe, today we’re also meeting my friends together."
"I know, but isn’t it too early? It’s only 6 o’clock."
"I take a bit longer with makeup, so I got up a little earlier. You can keep resting."
"Forget it, I can’t sleep anymore anyhow."
As he spoke, Zhang Yuzhe walked to the shower and started rinsing off.
Even though the villa had central air conditioning, he couldn’t shake off years of habit, always feeling sweaty after getting out of bed.
Li Jiaqi, meanwhile, headed to the dressing room for careful styling.
At 8:30, Yu Qingjia was picked up by a driver and arrived at the villa.
Looking at the building that resembled a small palace, she revealed a complex expression.
There were some young heirs and heiresses in her team, and she had visited their homes.
But this level of extravagant luxury in a villa was a first for her. It was more opulent than any European castle she’d seen.
Even the car that picked her up—it turned out to be a Land Rover worth tens of millions.
She knew this couldn’t possibly be the only car Li Jiaqi owned; she recalled last time the latter had driven a Maserati.
"Qingjia!"
Just as Yu Qingjia was glancing around, the excited Li Jiaqi quickly walked over.
"Jiaqi!"
Yu Qingjia responded joyfully and instinctively extended her arms. The two instantly embraced.
"Qingjia, it’s so great you could come. I’ve missed you so much."
"Why are you crying! You’re introducing me to resources; of course I’d come."
"I’m just happy. I was worried you wouldn’t come."
Yu Qingjia hugged her tightly. Though the two had embraced countless times before, today still left her deeply moved.
When she raised her head to comfort the latter, she suddenly noticed a young man standing on the second-floor balcony.
Despite the brilliant sunshine and vibrant flowers surrounding him, Yu Qingjia couldn’t help but feel a chill vibrating from deep within her bones.
It wasn’t that the man looked hideous or horrifying, but his gaze was chilling, as cold and endless as the depths of hell.
This eerie feeling, however, vanished in an instant. Upon closer inspection, the man now showed a noble calmness, with an aura blending sophistication and authority, accompanied by a hint of friendliness.
Yu Qingjia surmised that this must be the investor Li Jiaqi planned to introduce to her today. 𝕗𝐫𝐞𝕖𝕨𝐞𝗯𝚗𝕠𝘃𝐞𝚕.𝐜𝗼𝚖
Still, she understood the relationship between the two—they were more than mere acquaintances. He was her patron.
"Qingjia, let’s head inside."
"Alright!"
Li Jiaqi held her hand and led her into the extravagantly luxurious hall.
The servants quickly brought out refreshments.
"Are these Filipino maids?" Yu Qingjia whispered softly.
"Yuzhe doesn’t trust hiring domestic staff, so he brought in these professionals."
As they spoke, Zhang Yuzhe, dressed in a white shirt and suspenders, walked over.
"Qingjia, let me introduce you. This is Zhang Yuzhe, the investor for our variety show and also my boyfriend."
"Hello, Yu Qingjia. I’m actually a fan turned sponsor."
"Oh! You’re a Galaxy fan?"
"Indeed, I frequently watch your performances. It’s an honor to collaborate with you this time."
Yu Qingjia never imagined that this man would turn out to be a fan of their girl group.
"Qingjia doesn’t seem to believe it, Yuzhe. Should we do a call-out?"
"Haha, no need, no need. Working with you is already my good fortune."
"Let’s drop the formalities then. Have a seat for some tea."
Zhang Yuzhe’s gentle demeanor was worlds apart from the twisted psychological face she had seen earlier.
Yu Qingjia offered him a warm and serene smile.
A flicker of brightness flashed deep in Zhang Yuzhe’s eyes.
This was his first time closely observing Yu Qingjia; the girl possessed a tranquil beauty like the flickering lanterns along a riverside.
The three of them sat down as Li Jiaqi poured Sri Lankan red tea into elegant cups for them.
"Jiaqi, if you hadn’t contacted me, I’d probably be spending the year entirely in the theater dancing."
"I recall you had some external gigs?"
"Just the kind of shows that take a day or two to record—a handful at most."
Yu Qingjia smiled wryly while sipping from her finely glazed ceramic teacup.
"Galaxy’s resources have always been highly competitive. Weren’t you one of last year’s top three?" Zhang Yuzhe asked somewhat puzzled.
"We originally planned for a lot of gigs this year, but, as you know, Tian Ou happened."
At the mention of Tian Ou, a glint of icy hostility flashed across Li Jiaqi’s facial expressions.
"Lu Ye seems to have made it big."
"Indeed, Tian Ou’s captain has gained mainstream recognition."
Though Yu Qingjia noticed her companion speaking with a cheerful facade, she sensed an underlying tension and chose not to say more.
Unconcerned, Zhang Yuzhe remarked, "Tian Ou is undeniably formidable; it’s crushed all other domestic girl groups."
"That’s just luck. If Galaxy had sent members, we definitely would’ve been stellar." Li Jiaqi, like every girl in Galaxy, refused to accept defeat to Tian Ou.
In her eyes, their rival’s tactics were nothing but refurbished leftovers from Galaxy.
Zhang Yuzhe couldn’t hold back a laugh. "Who would you send? Xiao Yan? Didn’t she terminate her contract?"
Li Jiaqi and Yu Qingjia realized he was ridiculing Galaxy.
Xiao Yan had been referred to as Galaxy’s Lv Fangxin.
When Lv Fangxin made her debut, many team members thought she had merely adopted Xiao Yan’s persona.
"There’s no need for mocking us. We could easily pick out eleven members who wouldn’t be inferior to theirs." Li Jiaqi replied with a hint of displeasure.
Zhang Yuzhe simply smiled lightly and chose not to argue further.
He knew it would be pointless; he was no longer an impulsive fan.
Li Jiaqi, however, was adamant:
"Had the company not been so shortsighted, we’d at least have had two members debut."
"We could’ve secured spots in the Milky Way Girl lineup."
"True. I still don’t understand what the company was thinking back then." Yu Qingjia chimed in.
Zhang Yuzhe countered, "Lu Ye went, and one more actually did debut."
"That doesn’t count—it was just a stopgap by the company without proper preparation." Yu Qingjia shook her head.
"At the last sports festival, we ran into them, but unfortunately, we weren’t allowed to perform."
Li Jiaqi sneered, "Of course their platform wouldn’t risk it. Don’t forget how terrible their initial debut was and how they had one member dragging them down."
Zhang Yuzhe hadn’t realized Li Jiaqi and the others harbored such deep resentment toward Tian Ou.
"If we work hard enough, we may yet surpass them one day." Yu Qingjia’s voice carried firm determination.
In her eyes, Zhang Yuzhe saw something familiar—aspiration and passion.
His heart warmed inexplicably, finding Yu Qingjia’s allure magnified significantly.
Li Jiaqi suddenly turned to Zhang Yuzhe: "Yuzhe, could you help Qingjia land a role in the movie I’m working on?"
Yu Qingjia was taken aback and immediately blushed, her heart racing.
She watched as Li Jiaqi clung to Zhang Yuzhe’s arm in a coy manner.
If fans ever witnessed this scene, chaos would surely ensue!
Still, she was deeply touched, feeling grateful for having befriended this person.
Li Jiaqi was genuinely dedicated to her, no doubt about it.
Zhang Yuzhe replied naturally, "That’s not up to me. It depends on the director. But I can certainly put in a good word."
"Thank you, President Zhang!" Yu Qingjia expressed her gratitude graciously.
"You! Always like this." Li Jiaqi teased with a coquettish smile.
