Something slammed into me..

It felt like the world itself had decided I was an enemy as my body was launched for what felt like miles...

I crashed through trees, mountains.. and things I was still trying to figure out...

My consciousness for the second time that day blurred....

I could hear the system notifications but my mind was to blurry to understand anything...

My body was violently stopped..

The creature had just stopped my body mid air like it was nothing...

The whiplash sending my my neck hurtling forward, spine snapping into two...

I couldn’t even scream, the pain was blurring my mind..

I found myself floating before this massive monstrosity..

It still hadn’t moved.

It merely looked at me the way one would an ant..

<Chaotic Adaptation>, <Chaos Healing>, <Warborn Regeneration>.. all my adaptive and regenerative abilities working to keep my battered figure whole...

I cracked one swollen eye open, my sight being filled with creature’s massive head.

It’s slitted eyes still regarding me with the majesty an emperor would a peasant.

NO!

Maybe even less so..

"Heh.. so...the big lizard got an upgrade..." I wheezed through broken ribs.

It’s cold eyes remained steady, not an ounce of rage in that cold gaze just pure disregard...

The creature merely willed it and I could feel the atmosphere compress around me..

Crack!!!!....Crack!!!!

My bones twisted violently. My body was folding in on itself...

"Aaaarrrrrrrgggggggg!!!!!" I screamed...

The pain was horrifying...

I’d never felt anything like it in my whole life..

It felt like the world was caving in around me....

I willed everything of me to its fullest..

My regeneration...

My adaptation...

Whatever was meant to be passive I actively pushed...

My just regenerated CE bottoming fast....

It barely worked...

<Chaotic adaptation activating....

<Chaotic adaptation....Evolving.....

I couldn’t careless what the notification were saying, just please "MAKE IT STOP!!!" I screamed in visceral pain...

<Chaotic adaptation has evolved.....

I couldn’t care less what happened after that message, the pain finally relented....

<Chaotic healing has evolved.....

My bones started mending themselves, even as the force continued to press all around me..

It was like my body was reverting to its uninjured state whenever it was crushed...

Slowly, painfully..

It stopped.

The pain vanished.

And I was finally whole again..

Breath heavy, bloodied and battered, but whole..

I could see the shock and disbelief that flashed briefly within the creature’s eyes.

"Heh...not so tough now are you?" I taunted..

It responded with a claw swipe too fast for me to even react...

Slash!!!!!

I was sliced cleanly into three distinct portions...

The left part of me seeing with visceral clarity how my organs were spilling out of the other parts of me..

But then..

As if time itself had rewound, my body returned to its pristine form..

Gasssp!!!

I gasped as the sensation hit me..

"What the hell??" I didn’t know what that was, but it definitely wasn’t healing..

It felt like a reversal, as if something denied the attacks effect...

Rooarrrr!!!!

The creature roared..

Annoyed at the fact that the tiny creature that I was had refused to die.

So for the first time ever, it moved.

NO.

It didn’t move.

It BECAME THE STORM....

Dark clouds churned for miles and miles on end...

The creature’s body lifting into the dark skies as the atmosphere turned violent..

Lightning struck wantonly..

The winds raged and heavy rain pelted the earth as if fury from the gods...

I didn’t see it.

I couldn’t see it move.

But <War God Ascension> was still active <Asura instinct> pulsing subtly in sync with it just in time for me to duck a claw swipe that deleted the surrounding area behind me...

Kilometers of land. Gone. Just like that..

There wasn’t time to react..

I let instinct take over..

<Geotectonic Architect> surging to life as I made a towering metallic avatar of pure menace...

A massive black steel sword appearing within my avatar’s grasp..

This thing.. whatever it was.. wasn’t going to be affected by my fists...

The attack came.

My body reacted before I could think..

Ting!!!

Sword met claws..

Crack!!!!...

Sword shatters against claws...

Riiipppppp....

The result? My torso being completely separated from my lower body...

But before the sensation could completely settle, my body reformed...

I surged forward..

Into the eye of the storm..

The lightning raged..

The winds battered my body..

The rain felt like battering rams wishing nothing than to turn me into pudding..

The Wyvern from earlier had total command of the atmosphere..

But right now, it didn’t feel like I was fighting something commanding the atmosphere. NO!. It felt like I was fighting Mother Nature herself, and I was losing...BADLY...

Boooooommm!!!!!

A lightning bolt, over 20 meters thick slammed into me, erasing my form completely...

My body regenerated..

I didn’t relent.. I couldn’t..

So I pushed..

I pushed harder...

<Geotectonic Architect> working in overdrive..

Whatever the creature destroyed, I rebuilt, stronger, more resilient..

I could feel a difference in the workings of chaotic adaptation..

It had stopped adapting to the creature..

I was TOO weak..

It was now adapting to MY own abilities...

My constructs became stronger the more I rebuilt it...

My regeneration if you could even call it that at this point, became smoother, faster, less jarring on the mind..

But the true game changer was <War God Ascension> I pushed the skill to its absolute limits..

Predicting movements before it was even made...

Defending attacks I had no business defending..

I should’ve been dead, meat paste..

But the skill kept me just a hair’s breadth ahead...

The carnage continued..

The storm relentless...

Then a shift, one I’d never expected....

My title kicked in..

The effect was immediate..

I could feel the effects of <War God’s Ascension> improving drastically...

The creature’s patterns..

It’s attacking sequence..

I had begun to read nature itself....

The storm slowed, and I could finally see it..

A heart beat before the creature had even moved...

A thick massive claw carrying the authority of the storm itself as it tore through the atmosphere, ready to rip me apart..

I moved before the attack even came..

And then..

Wooosh...Booom...

The attack arrived, erasing another portion of the land beneath us, but I was nowhere to be found, already gone before the attack even happened..

"Wha.."

The notification settled on me with a comforting ding...

[LIMIT BREAKER] the title I’d gotten after surpassing my limit, forcefully broke through the limits of the skill...

The change was immediate..

I could feel a surge of strength explode within me..

My perception growing sharper...

The atmosphere shuddered at the sheer presence i radiated at that moment.

The aura pouring instinctively out of me suppressing the violent nature of the elements around me..

I didn’t feel mortal anymore, NO! I felt like something more.. something DIVINE...

For the first time since this thing evolved, I could finally breathe...

The creature felt it too..

The shift in the atmosphere, the shift in the scales of power..

It was still the apex predator around here, but the evolution of my skill just made me no longer an insignificant presence..

A massive eye opened in the storm, looking down at me, and for the first time ever I saw what seemed to be acknowledgment? Within its gaze..

It had stopped treating me like worthless prey and had decided to take me on as a challenger..

I couldn’t tell how I knew this, but I felt it.. something within me recognized the creature’s gesture..

Rooooooarrrrrr!!!!!!

The storm roared..

The dark clouds parting, making way for the massive form of the beast to be seen.. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝓮𝒘𝙚𝙗𝒏𝙤𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝒐𝙢

It spread its majestic wings in all it’s glory..

Its presence poured out without restraint...

Creeeeeeeeee...crack!!!....crack...

The surroundings groaned, space creaking and shattering as the void beyond became visible, unable to bear the full weight of just what had appeared...

I could feel the creature’s gaze on me as I tried to acclimate to the current surge of strength within me..

[LIMIT BREAKER in effect] there it was again..

And this time, I could feel myself getting instantly familiar with the newly evolved skill...

"Heh.. seems all those attribute points I’d burned out earlier finally paid off"..

I muttered softly..

<Geotectonic Architect> the true mvp of the day, was called forth once more..

This time I willed on a full body armor..

It reformed..

I felt the difference instantly..

This was weightier..

This felt sturdier...

’I really should study the effects of my newly evolved skills properly if I survive this’...

Done with my preparation, my grip tightened on the massive steel black sword in my grip..

The creature patiently letting me prepare in an act of chivalry?

"Yea, my day couldn’t possibly get any weirder..."

I stared up at the majestic creature..

Letting my aura clash wildly with the all encompassing force surrounding me..

It was time for round two..

And hopefully, this time, I make it count...
