Chaos Devourer System: My Classless Ascension-Chapter 44 - 43:MOTHER!
Rage...
Pure. Unfiltered rage..
That’s what I was feeling at this moment...
[Bloodline<?????>(sealed) is reacting.....
His own family betrayed him????
All this time I’d thought my enemies were the filthy demons, yet it turns out his own family were the orchestrators??
[Bloodline<?????>(sealed) is reacting.....
The atmosphere trembled from my building anger...
The winds outside churned...
Storm clouds gathered...
The rumbling of lightning reached me even through my rage..
It felt like the heavens were raging together with me...
"They’ll pay... I’ll make sure they pay.."
The thought slid into my head. Cold. Murderous.
I didn’t care who they were..
It didn’t matter that they were some ancient family that stood far off from the world’s standard..
It didn’t matter that they bred monsters like common folk..
They were going to pay..
Pay in blood...
[Bloodline<?????(sealed) is reacting...
But before I could spiral completely..
"Dante!!!" Aunt V’s voice broke me out of it..
My red eyes snapping towards her, only to freeze..
She was in tears, worry evident in her gaze.
My mind slowed, reason slowly returning to me, the wrathful haze dispersing...
The moment I’d come too, an overwhelming feeling of exhaustion took hold, "wha..what was that?" I asked, voice tired..
That didn’t feel like me..
I was angry yes, but that felt like something else entirely..
Felt like I was almost possessed by something..
"Hooooo... it seems big brother was right.." aunt v muttered to herself, slowly regaining her composure..
"Aunt V, what just happened?"..
"Little Dante" she adjusted her posture, the sheets falling to her hips, "that was your bloodline reacting, your Draken bloodline.."..
"What? But, I don’t have a...." I stopped mid sentence..
"No way??" My eyes widened..
"Yes, it’s as you have guessed, one of your sealed bloodlines is your Draken bloodline"..
"As for the other one.. big brother said you’d know when the time was right.."
"Wha..How..why??" I didn’t know what to say, it had been one twist after another..
This was one of the reasons I’d dreaded ever knowing. I knew it was just going to get complicated, but this was way off my expectations..
"I told you that your father was the greatest talent the family had ever seen, but what I didn’t tell you was that your father, at the moment you were born, had said your talent surpassed even his, so much so that it, was in his words . "IMMEASURABLE"...
......
"Hold on.. let’s backtrack for a moment.. aunt v, tell me everything, start from the beginning.."I needed a pause..
No more bombshells...
Just needed a breather and a clear picture of what I was dealing with here..
"Alright.. so it all started when.."
So as it turns out, my father was indeed a big shot, the most talented genius the Draken ancient family, had seen since the first ancestor...
His bloodline grade was so powerful he was able to assimilate draconic bloodlines belonging to pure blooded ancient dragons.. provided he could slay them first as per Draken tradition...
His rise was unprecedented..
He was untouchable..
Not by his siblings, not by his rivals, hell even those of the older generation had started losing out to him..
He was that good..
Unfortunately, he fell to something most great men always seemed to fall for..
Love..
Yes. The old man fell in love.
And unfortunately, he’d fallen for someone his family couldn’t approve of.
Her bloodline was mediocre.her talent useless. Her family lineage nothing to speak.
She was well and truly beneath their consideration..
And considering the family’s rule of keeping the bloodline pure, marriages outside the clan had always been forbidden.
But could something like that have stopped the arrogant regulus? Well he wouldn’t be himself if it had..
He gave up the heirship to his younger brother Damien Von Draken..
Gave up his family name, cut off all ties with them and went off to live with the woman he’d come to love.. 𝒻𝑟𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝑛𝘰𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝘤𝘰𝘮
But like all tales involving powerful families..
Those in power almost always seemed to have an irrational fear of the past coming for them, and so, Damien Von Draken, after assuming hold of the patriarch’s seat, set out on a manhunt for his talented older brother, intent on making sure he never returned...
Aunt Raven, getting wind of the family’s scheme, had run to their father to plead regulus’ case, only to be met with the cold shoulder..
"He abandoned the family on his own whim, let him face the consequences of his actions himself" was the old man’s reply..
She had seethed back then.
Her brother had always loved her, spoiled her rotten and taken good care of her, she’d wanted to run away with him, but he insisted she stayed and grow, yet now, his own blood was after him? ’No, I must warn him’..
She’d stilled herself, leaving the family soon after..
Alas, she’d underestimated how low her brother, Damien could stoop just for power..
He’d gotten those retched demons involved, and even gotten an alliance with the Dragons Nest, to hunt down the man that had taken the life of not one but 3 ancient dragons..
It was a hunt fit for gods, and yet it was all aimed at one man...
Raven had arrived late..
The only thing she’d met at the site was carnage...
Blood soaked the earth.
Corpses laid strewn- beasts, demons, humans even dragons- formed literal mountains of bodies..
The air smelled of copper and iron, the wails of souls vanquished accompanying the whispering wind...
The only sign of life within that nightmarish tapestry was a small child, his unconscious form barely breathing as he lay straddled within the arms of a still woman, my mother, her tears still visible..
"No... sister Seraphina.." she had broken down back then, seeing the still form of that kindhearted woman, her own brother’s body no where to be found..
She crouched beside the body, gently moving to lift the child when an arm held hers softly, she was startled, looking down, she saw my mother’s gaze focused on her, a spark lighting up ever so briefly..
"Rave...Take..care..of..him" mother had croaked out of her dying form, the words sound like dying embers..
"I will.. sera.. I promise you I’ll take care of him to the best of my abilities.." Aunt raven cried tears of pure anguish as she answered..
Mother couldn’t reply, only managing a weak smile as her form began crumbling, turning to ash slowly, almost as if she’d only been holding on long enough to pass me on to whoever found me..
"Always remember, little D.. we’ll always be with you.." her voice was the last thing that faded after her entire body was erased from existence..
******
"And that’s how you ended up in my care little D up until now ..."
I wasn’t listening anymore...
My eyes had already flooded...
The tears streaming down In cascading floods...
Aunt V hugged me tightly...
"I’m so sorry... I’m so sorry.. I couldn’t be there in time.. I couldn’t save them.. I’m useless.. I’m so sorry..." she’d broken down with me.. her self reproach and soft sobs resounding within the silent room..
I was still. Body unmoving. My mind replayed all I’d just heard over and over again..
I didn’t know any of this...
Five year old me had already been out cold by then..
Who knew she’d held on that long..
Who knew she’d fought off death just to protect me still?
Who knew her sheer willpower had kept her long enough to make sure I was safe before departing??
Who knew A MOTHER’S love could force even DEATH to stay it’s hand even if just for the moment...
At that point what I felt wasn’t rage, it wasn’t anger..
All that filled my heart was love and pain..
Love for the impossibly Wonderful woman I’d been blessed with as a mother..
And Unexplainable PAIN at the fact that I’d never see such a wonderful woman again...
"Mother...."
I couldn’t help choking out..
For truly, what a wonderful mother I’d had...

A/N: y’all understand why my boy hates demons now? Ngl, I’d probably hate them just as much, hell, I already do....
