106 Tempted!

"Duuuuuuum"

Zeras landed on the ground, head first, as he coughed up blood in anger and disbelief, his face rapidly changing color from white to red, then to green before a devilish howl rang throughout the Humban Forest.

"Curse You Damn System!!!" Right in front of Zera's eyes was a notification:

[Main Quest Activated: Save The Amazonian Princess and take her back to the EIA base on the Planet.]

"To save the princess, what the fuck? Do you think I'm some kind of hero with no damn job to do?" Zeras said as he clenched his teeth furiously but he stood there dumbly at the set of other notifications that appeared:

[Rewards:

i. An increase from 30 to 50% Fusion with the Chaos Devourer Genome to the Host's Human Genome. f𝐫𝗲eweb𝗻o𝐯el.𝚌o𝗺

ii. +2 Level Up Card.

iii +3 Ability Upgrade Card.

iv Awaken a Class Authority.]

Zeras stood there numbed looking at the notification as he couldn't help but swallow a little and all the anger in his mind suddenly cleared away.

"I..Um..I..." Another Notification panel.

[Punishment: Your Cultivation will regress to the Early Star rank stage.]

"What the!!!!???, Regress my cultivation!! You shitty piece of trash, do you know how hard I suffered before arriving at this cultivation stage? And you want me to start all over again?" Zeras asked in rage looking at the panel.

This was the first time the system would be giving him so much reward, yet also the first time, he was told the punishment.

"Well, to...Um...avoid getting my cultivation regressed, then I'll try fulfilling the quest. Heck, if not because of the punishment, I definitely would not complete the quest. Yes, yes, that's the only reason why I would be completing the quest..." Zeras said out loud, as for who he was trying to convince, only the devil knows.

"But I've been told by the Officers to not leave the forest..." Zeras said to himself, a little conflicted by the order given. Yeah, just a little.

Heck, staying on this damn tree wouldn't give him such an amazing reward. Besides, looking at the bright side of things, he would be praised as a hero if he was the one to finally achieve the EIA mission becoming the first New cadet to complete a main mission.

Heck, staying on this damn tree wouldn't give him such an amazing reward. Besides, looking at the bright side of things, he would be praised as a hero if he was the one to finally achieve the EIA mission becoming the first New cadet to complete a main mission.

He would no doubt be heavily rewarded by the EIA. Besides, how could his hot blood spend four days on a tree doing nothing? He would just die of boredom.

"Well, it might be a bad idea not following the order given but the rewards are greater than the punishment, so I'll risk it..." Zeras muttered to himself as he dusted his uniform and slowly headed outside the forest but his steps couldn't help but halt as he stood there raising an eyebrow.

"Wait, how do I save the princess?" The Humban Tower has been filled to the brim with powerful Humbans who are acting as guards. How would he enter into the tower and where is the princess being hidden in the tower?

Besides, how would he get out with the princess in such a tight guarded area? "Tch, cunning system. No wonder you gave me such alluring rewards. You're just luring me to my death. A single wrong move and I'll be squashed to a pulp, automatically losing my life and also ruining the mission for the EIA.

I'll be branded a traitor and a bad Cadet by the entire EIA with my name forever written on the bad sides of history.

This is not a quest at all. No, it's a way for me to ascend to the highest heavens in a single step or fall to hell in a single step.

Failure and passing have so much effect on how my life will be directed from now on..."

Zeras mused thinking deeply about the quest and he knew it was more of a clever setup with very tempting rewards.

A Star rank-stage human infiltrating the Humban tower would have been a death sentence but he just had to have the absolute morph gene. "Ahh, Life and Karma. Is this fate?" Zeras looked up into the sky muttering to the stars.

Plans formulated quickly in his mind and a sinister smile lined his lips.

"Activate Absolute Morph..." Zeras activated his genetic ability as he closed his eyes and concentrated on an image in his head.

The image of a dead Humban was shown in the video shown to them by Sergeant Milliamp.

In the middle of the Humban Forest, an Humban could be seen dressed in an EIA uniform, exactly 2 meters in height, with blue scales lining his body while four muscular arms could be seen as it repeatedly swiped them around in the air.

Zeras couldn't help but take glances at the figure he just morphed into as he gave a nod to himself.

Now that he had successfully disguised himself and he was using the image of a random Humban who had died in the war. It would become hard for him to be easily noticed.

Zeras took off his EIA uniform as he was well aware through the footage that the Humbans are not a fan of shirts, besides his four arms just made them look ridiculous.

Looking at the four arms, it was incredibly hard to control all four at the same time as he wasn't used to four arms but that was something he'll be learning later.

Now that he was disguised as a Humban, he could proceed to the next step of his plan which was moving into the Humban settlement and experiencing life as an Humban.

"Ah, this would be another crazy adventure..." Zeras said to himself, his heart beating in his chest as he headed out of the forest, and not far away he could already see the lights hundreds of kilometers away.

-- -- --

Two humanoid shadows could be seen on one of the roofs of a Humban home.

The figures blended into the surrounding darkness as a dark robe completely covered their body making their true form and features indistinguishable...

"I honestly think this is a waste of time..." A very husky voice sounded out from one of the two figures as they both looked into the distance where the Humban Forest could be seen.

"You're not the only one, but Arroyo's guts have never been wrong, that is something we all knew well. If he had a hunch Zeras would truly leave the rest then there was a good chance he could be right, anyway it's just for the night, we can, waste that much time..." The other voice replied as they both quieted down and kept watch, until suddenly, a figure emerged from the forest as their eyes narrowed.

"Hmmm, a Humban in the forest... I thought it was an Off-limits area..." The husky voice rang out as they looked at the Humban who was coming out of the forest and quickly moving towards the settlement.

"The Humbans have been known to be very primitive. Probably another one going to ease himself out. Don't let that distract us, we have to make sure if Zeras truly exited, it doesn't escape our vision..." The second voice said as they kept watch over the forest while the Humban who came out of the forest quickly disappeared among the settlements.

Ready for another wild adventure? Me too.

Golden Tickets and Power Stones are greatly appreciated.
