Salvatore frowned at the sight of the little girl that was clutching onto his knee whereas Evelyn was barely able to control her laughter.
"Arabella," Salvatore started out gently, "what are you trying to do, little child?"
"Going with you!"
Evelyn choked on her laughter and ended up looking away from the duo. Salvatore, on the other hand, narrowed his eyes at the toddler before he huffed.
"Where are you going with me?"
That seemed to put her baby in a small thought process. The clear answer would be that she didn’t know. But as far as evelyn knew her girl, there was no way this girl would agree.
"Um.." Helpless, Arabella looked at her mother.
Evelyn shrugged, "to his office; the place where he works."
"Yes," Arabella nodded, "ophice."
Ah, her heart.
"My office is not for children, Arabella." Salvatore picked her up. "How about I take you this Saturday?"
"When ?"
"Two days after." Evelyn answered.
"Then ophice?" Bella asked Salvatore for confirmation who nodded.
"Yes, Saturday," he kissed her chubby cheek, "now can I go? I have to make money to buy you toys."
Within seconds her daughter moved away from Salvatore, "Go, Go," She waved her hands, "work a lot and bring a lot toys."
Evelyn crackled from the side, no longer being able to control her laughter.
Salvatore maintained a serious face and nodded at his daughter before giving her one last case of goodbye.
"Kiss mummy too," the toddler pointed out dutifully, with an expectant look on her face.
The moment Evelyn heard what Arabella had said, her eyes widened and blood flew straight to her cheeks and ears. She looked at Salvatore, only to find him already looking at her with narrow eyes and with a secretive smile.
Don’t, she glared at him.
He glanced down at the child before shrugging his shoulders to the bare minimum in helplessness.
As if, She narrowed her eyes at him in warning but not react as she wanted to because Salvador started to walk closer, completely ignoring the glare that she was sending his way.
Slowly, she felt him lean in and gulped when he was less enough for her to smell his cologne.
Her eyes fluttered close when she felt his lips gently kiss her cheek. The skin on her face dipped as his lips landed on them and Evelyn clenched her fists.
"The next time," he whispered in her ear, " it would be on the lips."
Her eyes opened when she heard him step away. Salvatore gave her nod, waved at Arabella and then walked out of the house leaving the mother and the daughter standing at the door,
Arabella huffed and raised her hands up in the air, "tired, mummy."
Evelyn grinned before picking her baby up and smooching her cheek.

Something had changed in between them. Something definitely had.
Evelyn found herself smiling much more than before and that was because of Salvatore and her daughter.
At the moment both of them were watching Arabella play on the swings as Marcelo gently pushed her.
They were slowly introducing her to people. At the moment Bella Rosa and her father were at the last. Bella Rosa head demoted herself after the incident with her daughter which Arabella was still traumatised from. Her daughter had barely been in the company of other children and only for the child to come screaming and throwing things at her... Evelyn understood if Her daughter required space or just some time away from Alessia.
Angelo was at the last because he was quite scary on his own. She could not really Picture him as a loving grandfather which is why he was the very last reason behind his daughter.
Alexis had already been introduced and Marcelo was next on the line alongside Lucas who was on his way here.
Her daughter looked quite speaking to Marcello which was a good thing considering that Evelyn also liked him amongst all the brothers.
Even if he was quite different than the last time she had seen him.
"Mummy!" The little bundle of joy came running towards her and Evelyn held her arms out. Arabella jumped into them making Evelyn pick her up with an ’uff’.
"Oh," Evelyn grunted, "someone is definitely getting big!"
Arabella giggled before she leaned to her father who picked her up. "Hi papa!"
"Hello, little one," Salvatore winked, "are you having fun with your uncle?"
"How many Uncle’s I have?"
That was a very good question. Her daughter was definitely going to turn out a genius.
"you don’t need to worry about that," Marcello said as he near them, "I am the one who is going to be your favourite."
"Nope," Lucas said from behind and made all of them turn around. The eldest brother made his way towards the group before raising the pink bag that he held in his hand with Arabella. "For the sweet princess."
Evelyn could see the greed in her daughter’s eyes but the control was also there. Instead of taking the bag offered by a stranger, Arabella turned to look at Evelyn for permission.
She wanted to praise her daughter for this but not in front of three men.
"Go ahead, baby."
The moment Arabella Heard the confirmation from her mother she snatched the bag from the man and opened it.
She gasped loudly before pulling it out for everyone to see. "It’s a doll!"
Evelyn almost felt a cringe come in. Now her daughter was definitely going to have a new obsession: it was going to be of dolls.
Marcelo and Lucas once again took Arabella towards the swing. Lucas tried to fit on one of the swings that were clearly meant for children and when he failed to do so repeatedly, Arabella laughed at him while pointing her finger at the man.
"Evelyn," she heard Salvador say before he came to stand right behind her. She could feel his breath fan over her ear.
"Yes?"
"Would you like to have dinner with me?"
Her eyebrows shot up for a quick second before the Lord and Evelyn blink. Did he really say that or were her ears ringing? Dinner with him?
Evelyn turned around and this time, with a firm voice she said, "yes, I’d love to."
