Chosen By The Lover's Constellation-Chapter 176: Star Players, Part Five
{Lianna}
"Did you seriously have to bring that woman to Telvan?" Enverna asked with a sigh.
Next to her on the couch, Lianna just smirked a bit.
"I thought you two had kissed and made up. Literally. I mean, you, uh... Left on a pretty good note, didn’t you?"
Enverna rolled her eyes, her annoyance dripping off her every move.
"That’s precisely my point. I’d meant for that to be the *end*. Knowing that I’m going to see her again, especially after the... time we spent together," Enverna looked away. "It feels odd."
Although she couldn’t hide her amusement, Lianna did reach over and take gentle hold of Enverna’s right hand.
Enverna lifted those frosty, white-blue eyes of hers up to Lianna. Lianna then said:
"Don’t worry, it’s just until that girl is dealt with. That’s all. Strictly business, you know?"
"Is it?" Enverna’s eyes half closed then, looking back at Lianna with some subtle skepticism. "I mean, the buffs you and I benefit from are acquired in a very specific way, after all."
"It’s still up to you whether you want to stack it or not, and whether you want to choose her to stack it with," Lianna made sure to remind her. "If you don’t even want to see her, you don’t have to."
"Hm."
Enverna leaned so far back on the couch that she looked like she was melting into it. Lianna knew the look on her face.
She wasn’t proud about *every* one-night stand she’d ever had, after all.
[I get what she’s feeling, but I really do think Caroline’s the best choice to help us out. The only other person I can think of is Vayn, but... I feel like she’d be far likelier to underestimate this enemy of ours than Caroline is.]
"I suppose it’s fine," Enverna finally said, quietly. "Any word on when she’s supposed to arrive?"
"Her responding letter said she’d be here in less than a week," Lianna replied. "Until then, all we can do is keep an eye out and try to avoid fighting the girl directly."
Still resting her head on the couch, Enverna’s tilted gaze fixed itself onto Lianna.
"We’ll have to make sure we’re ready, though."
"Yeah," Lianna nodded.
Enverna shifted a bit closer.
"We’ll have to keep training... Keep going on missions..."
"Mhm."
Enverna blinked.
"We’ll have to maintain our buffs."
Then, Lianna blinked.
"... Yeah," she giggled. "We will have to-"
Enverna got on top of her.
Taking Lianna’s wrists, she pinned her arms behind her head. The skirt she wore slid up her thighs from Enverna spreading her legs to straddle her.
Lianna swallowed.
"... We better get to work then, right?" Enverna asked so softly.
Lianna, with her breath fully out of her lungs, could only nod fervently before Enverna decided to initiate the process.

The following day, Lianna, Enverna, Mel, and Zura went to take on another mission.
Partly to keep their edge up. Partly because Miss Taylor thought it would be a good idea for them to not always be at home.
After all, if Athene managed to find them a few months ago so easily, that girl probably could as well.
"Oh," Lianna said, looking down at her phone as she and the others walked across a field of corn. "The exhibition is on the 27th."
She’d just gotten the notification.
Setting all this anxiety-inducing news aside, Lianna was looking forward to that showcase.
[It’s the perfect chance to put these stats to use.]
Over the course of the last month, Lianna had been keeping her stats buffed through the gracious assistance of her three guildmates, though Enverna hadn’t.
Lianna’s buffed stats currently looked like this (with 3 partners contributing to the buff):
MP: 300/300
RP: 60
---
STR: A-
END: B+
DEX: A 𝒻𝑟ℯℯ𝑤𝑒𝑏𝑛𝘰𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝒸𝑜𝘮
MYS: B+
L: S
Lianna shook her head.
[Crazy. I mean... Aren’t I actually a strong Player now? Agh, I need to see how I match up against people. But, I have to be on par with the vets at this point.]
Theoretically, Enverna could probably reach even further heights than Lianna, but the only partner she’d been sharing her nights with was Lianna herself.
Even then, Enverna was still very strong as a result.
MP: 100/100
---
STR: A-
END: A-
DEX: A-
MYS: B+
L: C-
But, this was partly why Lianna was excited for Caroline to come to Telvan.
[If she doesn’t want to, she doesn’t have to do anything with her. But, if she does, it would definitely help our case. Hell, Envy could just end up being as strong as Caroline herself. if she gets buffed enough.]
"Isn’t that shit just gonna be one prolonged bullying session?" Zura asked. "I kinda feel bad for the people you two are going up against."
"It shouldn’t be," Lianna replied. "This isn’t a rookie showcase, after all. This time, it’s actual veterans and high-ranked Players."
"I doubt there are many people experienced enough to overcome that ridiculous boost in power you’ve got," Mel added.
"Letting our guard down would likely help them do that," Enverna replied. "Thus, we should approach this upcoming combat like we do not have these stats."
"Agreed. By the way," Lianna looked over at Mel and Zura. "Why don’t you two enter?"
"Hm?" Mel tilted her head, one brow raised high. "With who?"
Lianna smirked.
"With each other."
Mel blinked.
Zura blinked.
The two of them looked at each other, with Zura having to look down and Mel having to look up due to the severe height difference there.
Mel laughed.
"I-I... Uhm, hehe, I’m not sure about that..."
"Yeah," Zura laughed as well. Both chuckles were equally as awkward. "I mean... That’s, uh..."
Lianna stopped, turning to look back at them.
[... What? Am I missing something?]
"I-I guess, maybe?" Mel looked up at Zura once more.
"I mean..." Zura looked away. "If you’re down..."
"Yeah!" Lianna barked out. "I’m sure you two would kill it together."
"..."
Both girls remained silent after that.
Soon, they arrived at the site of their mission. An old barn in the middle of nowhere.
[Okay, time to do some more actual adventuring... And, maybe get my mind off this enemy of ours for a bit.]
