Chosen By The Lover's Constellation-Chapter 212: Eternity, Part Thirteen
The colossal eye of Saren turned, its gaze falling directly on Lianna.
The atmosphere grew heavy with a palpable, oppressive energy. His voice echoed throughout the entire city, a deep, resonant timbre that seemed to vibrate through the bones of everyone present.
"Children of Mana," Saren’s voice boomed, "do you not wish to rule your own world? To become the oppressors instead of the oppressed? Join me, and I will grant you the power to reshape reality itself! I will let you take all your anger out on those who wronged you. All you need do is kill the humans standing next to you, and you will be spared by my Fiends. I promise."
Not many people took him up on that offer. A couple did, though they were quickly put down.
Most children of mana, however, simply fixed their eyes on Saren, same as the humans, all considering him to be the enemy.
Lianna felt the weight of his words pressing down on her, but she didn’t waver. She turned to Enverna, reaching out to take her left hand.
"Are you ready?" she asked, her voice steady and filled with resolve.
Enverna squeezed her hand tightly, nodding.
"I am. Let’s finish this."
"I," Lianna chuckled. "I’d love to help but, uh, having only one hand kinda killed my ability to shoot arrows."
"Hahahaha," Enverna giggled, leaning forward and placing a gentle kiss on Lianna’s lips. "I only need you to use your mouth for me. That’s all."
"What? Here?" Lianna gasped dramatically. "In front of everyone." Enverna just rolled her eyes. "I guess I’ll have to do that, then."
Beneath the giant eyeball, more Fiends began to take shape, their grotesque forms emerging from the shadows, ready to launch a new wave of destruction.
Lianna and Enverna shared a look, a silent understanding passing between them. With a nod, Enverna took up her spear as Lianna stood behind her.
"FOR TELVAN!" Athene’s rallying cry echoed behind them, galvanizing the other adventurers and soldiers.
The adventurers followed in a united surge, their collective willpower forging a path through the chaos. Spells crackled, swords flashed, and arrows flew as the fiends ran forward.
In no time at all, the Fiends reached the broken-down gates. Enverna’s spear struck the first one to come in with lethal precision, while Lianna began using {Lover’s Intuition} again.
"Enverna, left!" And, as quickly as always, Enverna did as she asked.
Mel stood a little further back, launching devastating spells into the fray.
Lightning crackled, and flames roared, each spell a precise and powerful blow against the encroaching horde. Not just from her, but all the mages around them.
Caroline danced through the battlefield, her blade slicing through Fiends with lethal grace. Each swing of her sword brought down another enemy, her movements fluid and unyielding.
Athene and Zura worked in tandem, a bastion of defense amidst the chaos. Athene’s holy aura radiated, bolstering their allies while Zura’s shield intercepted attacks, her strength and determination a bulwark against the tide of darkness.
All the while, Lianna’s eyes lingered on the colossal eye of Saren. His gaze seemed to pierce through the battlefield, a constant reminder of the greater threat they faced.
[This won’t be easy,] she thought, [but we need to take him down.]
As Enverna fought to keep the Fiends at bay, Lianna focused on the Player Shop.
She needed something powerful, something that could turn the tide of battle and end Saren’s reign of terror.
Her fingers moved swiftly, navigating through the options. She had amassed a significant number of tokens, and now she needed to use them wisely.
She searched for the most broken, overpowered weapon she could find.
Finally, she found it.
{Divine Spear}
The description made her heart race.
"A blade forged in the celestial fires, imbued with the power of the heavens. Capable of cutting through any darkness and banishing even the most powerful of evils," Lianna read with a grin. "Perfect."
Without hesitation, she purchased the weapon, her tokens disappearing as the transaction completed. A radiant light enveloped her, and in her hand, the spear materialized.
"Enverna!" Lianna called out, raising the thing high. "I’ve got something that can end this!"
Enverna, her eyes wide with surprise.
She didn’t question it, though. She just walked up, took the spear, and said:
"As strong as this feels, I think I might not be able to do it justice. That wretched woman took off my dominant hand."
Lianna walked up, hugging her from behind.
"I’ll have to help you out then."
"... Please, do."

"Enverna!" Lianna called out, raising the glowing sword high. "I’ve got something that can end this!"
Enverna’s eyes widened with surprise, but she didn’t question it. Instead, she walked up, took the sword, and said, "As strong as this feels, I think I might not be able to do it justice. That wretched woman took off my dominant hand."
Lianna walked up behind her, wrapping her arms around Enverna in a reassuring embrace. "I’ll have to help you out then."
"... Please, do," Enverna replied, a soft smile touching her lips.
Together, they moved through the chaos of the battlefield, making their way towards Saren.
The Divine Spear glowed, cutting through the darkness and marking the path they took.
The Fiends seemed to recoil from its presence, their outer layers disintegrating as the radiant light touched them.
As they got closer, Lianna felt a familiar sensation in her mind.
{Target Analysis} leveled up one last time, showing Saren’s Status.
Saren
MP: 1000000000/1000000000
---
STR: N/A
END: N/A
DEX: N/A
MYS: N/A
L: N/A
A short paragraph was at the bottom of his status.
What they needed to do became clear.
"We’re only going to get one shot at this," Lianna said to Enverna, her voice urgent. "We need to take full advantage of it."
Saren’s eye turned towards them, his voice booming with a mixture of amusement and scorn.
"Ah, the lovers. So touching. Lianna, I might just be willing to forgive your defiance if you kill Enverna here and now. Join me, and I will grant you power beyond your wildest dreams."
"Yeah?" Lianna asked.
She stopped Enverna, turning her around to face her.
Without a word, she leaned in and kissed her deeply.
"..." Saren looked about as disappointed as an eyeball could.
It was a kiss filled with love and determination, a silent vow that they would face this together.
Saren’s voice echoed with mockery.
"How cute. If you are so eager to meet your end, though, very well. I will oblige."
On that note, he began to create Fiends again.
Greater Fiends this time, much larger and far more powerful than the ones behind Lianna and Enverna.
But the kiss had another purpose than to just make Saren mad.
As their lips met, Lianna whispered the last instructions Enverna needed into Enverna’s mouth, hidden from Saren’s prying gaze.
She shared the precise moment to strike, the exact angle, and the timing needed.
It would be tough. Even for Enverna. But, {Lover’s Intuition} hadn’t been wrong yet.
They needed to bet on this.
When they broke apart, Enverna’s eyes were filled with understanding and resolve. She nodded, gripping the sword with renewed determination.
"Let’s end this," Enverna said, her voice steady.
Enverna’s grip on the {Divine Spear} tightened as she looked at Lianna, their shared resolve evident in their eyes.
Without another word, she turned and sprinted forward, the Divine Spear held firmly in her left hand. Fiends swarmed around her, but she moved with precision and speed, cutting through them almost effortlessly.
Lianna’s heart pounded as she watched Enverna fight, her eyes fixed on Saren’s colossal form. Fiends continued to spawn, their grotesque shapes clawing their way towards the fighters, but Lianna knew it didn’t matter. Enverna was making progress, each step bringing them closer to ending this nightmare.
As Enverna fought her way through the horde, she executed their plan with perfect timing. She leaped onto the head of a Fiend, using it as a springboard to jump onto another. With agile grace, she continued to leap from one Fiend to the next, her movements fluid and purposeful.
Each leap brought her closer to Saren.
Finally, she reached a position directly below the massive eye. Without hesitation, she launched the {Divine Spear} like a javelin, aiming for the heart of Saren’s form.
The spear flew up, piercing the eye with a blinding burst of light.
Saren’s screech of pain echoed through the battlefield, a sound of unearthly agony.
But he wasn’t dead.
Lianna’s heart sank as she saw Saren still floating, his massive form convulsing in pain but not defeated. The Fiends around Enverna dissipated, their bodies crumbling into dust, but Saren’s presence remained, a looming threat.
[What? But... What were we supposed to do? {Lover’s Intuition} said...]
Then, she saw them.
The Constellations appeared, their celestial forms shining brightly in the dimming light.
One by one, they all manifested. The Judicator, the Lover, the Hunter, the Champion, the Wizard, the Forger, the Monk, and the Peaceful all emerged, their figures radiant and awe-inspiring.
Opposing them, the Scoundrel, the Demon, and the Merchant manifested, their dark auras contrasting sharply with the others.
"Again," Saren said. "Again, you rebel... Don’t you know it’s pointless?"
The Lover walked forward.
"We didn’t give up before. We won’t give up now."
Led by the Lover, the good constellations surged forward, their combined might focused on Saren.
They attacked with a coordinated fury. Beams of celestial energy poured into Saren and each of the evil constellations at the same time, just like Enverna’s spear had, each blow weakening the monstrous eye further.
Saren’s form began to falter, his power waning under the relentless assault.
Lianna watched in awe and relief as the celestial beings fought.
The sky itself seemed to shimmer with their presence, the stars aligning to aid in their battle. The ground shook as the Constellations brought Saren down to earth, his massive form collapsing under their might.
With a final, thunderous crash, Saren fell, his body dissipating into nothingness.
The oppressive energy that had hung over the battlefield lifted, replaced by a serene calm.
It was over.
Lianna ran to Enverna, her heart pounding with a mix of fear and joy.
She reached her just as Enverna collapsed to her knees, exhausted but victorious. Lianna knelt beside her, wrapping her arms around her in a tight embrace.
"We did it," Lianna whispered, her voice choked with emotion. "It’s over."
Enverna smiled weakly, leaning into Lianna’s embrace.
"We... We did it."
But, before Lianna could celebrate for too long, the world went black.
She was no longer there. Instead, she was in a void, with a woman standing before her.
The Lover.
