Chubby Mommy: Scheming Daddy, Surrender Now!-Chapter 436: Suspicions
Cypress said to his sister Holly, "Yes, I got anxious."
Seeing this, Shawn Sheffield started chatting with their third uncle about nostalgic topics, glossing over the matter. Aidan Sinclair felt like Ruby Sullivan was staring at him in a way that she wanted to rip him apart, but given the situation, it wasn’t the best time to clarify that he had no interest in Wendy Sheffield.
Aside from Shawn Sheffield’s relationship with the third uncle, he didn’t like Wendy Sheffield, but he didn’t dislike her either, and they could barely be called friends. To hurt a girl so heartlessly didn’t align with Aidan Sinclair’s basic principles of dealing with girls.
So, he could only grin foolishly at Ruby Sullivan, hoping to gain some understanding through his smile.
Ruby Sullivan shot him a sharp look, lowered her head to eat, and stopped looking at him, but her expression remained sour.
Only then did Aidan Sinclair exhale a long sigh of relief internally, and he no longer felt like he was choking while eating.
Wendy Sheffield, who had been intermittently glancing at Aidan Sinclair, saw all the eye contact between the two and felt a bit suspicious.
After the meal, the third uncle invited Shawn Sheffield and his wife to continue chatting in the tea room, letting the younger ones entertain themselves. Vivian helpfully suggested that there was a game room here, and if they were interested, they could play a few rounds of Mahjong or card games like "Fight the Landlord."
Ruby Sullivan was tired and wanted to return to her room to rest. Naturally, Ethan Sterling wanted to follow his wife. Honey had already lost interest in Jasper Sheffield and wanted to go back to the room with her brother to watch TV.
Cypress initially wanted to organize a gambling game to facilitate interactions between the Song and Sterling families, but seeing their lack of interest, he decided not to push it and chose to return to his room to watch TV.
The sky was still bright outside, and the hotel scenery was nice. Wendy Sheffield wanted to ask Aidan Sinclair to take a walk, but she saw him chasing after Ruby Sullivan and Ethan Sterling, seemingly apologizing, though Ruby wasn’t buying it. Then, Aidan Sinclair picked up Honey.
It wasn’t until the group entered the elevator that Wendy Sheffield withdrew her gaze.
"Aunt, stop looking," Jasper Sheffield waved a hand in front of her eyes, teasing, "Aidan Sinclair doesn’t like you."
Wendy Sheffield’s face flushed, "You’re just a kid; what do you know?"
Jasper Sheffield scoffed, "Believe what you want, but don’t say I didn’t warn you if you get rejected." He walked away proudly, thinking if it weren’t for grandpa insisting he stay, he would have left with mom this morning.
Wendy Sheffield felt uneasy and couldn’t help but catch up with her nephew’s pace, "Do you think Aidan Sinclair’s way of looking at Ruby Sullivan is normal?"
"She’s the most beautiful woman here. Don’t you think even dad is particularly courteous when he looks at her? I heard she’s a perfumer, understanding women through scent..." He laughed.
Such a woman would captivate any man, right? If only the little girl weren’t so young, he wouldn’t be able to resist considering it. With a mom so exceptional, the little girl should grow up just as well.
Even though Jasper Sheffield was only fourteen, he was already 1.75 meters tall and immaturely trying to act adult-like. Such kids are easily attracted to beautiful and mysterious mature women like Ruby Sullivan.
Wendy Sheffield saw him leaving his thoughts unfinished, with everything written on his face, and smacked him on the back of the head, "I told you that you shouldn’t have been in any commercials at such a young age and not learn well!"
Jasper Sheffield was annoyed by the inexplicable smack on the head, "What’s not learning well? Ridiculous! It’s your dirty mind that thinks wrongly." He stepped out of the elevator, "So rough, what man would want you."
"Fine! I want to see what your mom has to say." Wendy Sheffield, furious, pressed the elevator button sharply, not wanting to see this little troublemaker for even a moment.
In reality, she was just venting her frustration on her nephew without realizing it. Jasper Sheffield might not be perfect, but he definitely qualified as a "kid from another family," a model child. How could a "kid from another family" be a troublemaker?
Her heart burned because even her nephew thought Ruby Sullivan was prettier than her. How could a woman past her prime be more beautiful than her in her prime? And what was up with the way Aidan Sinclair looked at her? Even if Ruby Sullivan divorced Ethan Sterling, she wouldn’t possibly have anything to do with him, right? Would he still want to meet Ethan Sterling in the future?
The more Wendy Sheffield thought about it, the more twisted she felt, even beginning to suspect Vivian of having problems.
At the moment, Aidan Sinclair was explaining himself to Ruby Sullivan, swearing on the rooftop that his relationship with Wendy Sheffield was as clean as disinfectant. Seeing Ruby’s disbelief, he could only reveal that the Sheffield family intended to match him with theirs.
Aidan Sinclair initially felt that this matter related to the Sheffields and Wendy Sheffield’s reputation, so he didn’t want to mention it to others, but he couldn’t let Ruby Sullivan misunderstand and then spread rumors through Stella Jennings.
Ruby Sullivan finally started listening. "What did the third uncle say?" She grew up in such a family as well, knowing that the elders’ opinions could heavily influence marriage. After all, wasn’t Ethan forced by his grandmother to marry her?
Despite Aidan Sinclair’s current success, once the third uncle meddled in his marriage, who knows what might happen.
"The old man respects my opinion, and now he listens particularly to Vivian. If you don’t believe me, you can ask Vivian."
"What if the third uncle changes his mind after meeting Stella Jennings?" Ruby Sullivan persisted, "When it comes to a little one’s happiness, I can’t slack off at all."
"My dad’s shares were already fully transferred to me. You know my dad’s thoughts. Do you think his disapproval would matter?" Aidan Sinclair wanted to cry.
Ethan Sterling put his arm around his wife’s shoulder, laughing and backing him up, "I think he’s quite honest." 𝒇𝓻𝓮𝓮𝙬𝙚𝒃𝒏𝓸𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝓬𝓸𝒎
Ruby Sullivan cast him a sidelong glance, "Are you abetting the wrongdoer?"
Aidan Sinclair muttered under his breath, "He’s just supporting a good cause, okay?" How is this aiding and abetting the enemy?
Ethan Sterling smiled, "I just want this big third wheel to hurry and leave."
Ruby Sullivan giggled, "Alright, I won’t tell Stella about the Sheffield family, but I’ll still observe your character."
Aidan Sinclair, after being scolded and fed a large amount of PDA, felt all sorts of discomfort in his heart, "Thank you, Mrs. Sterling, for your kindness."
Ethan Sterling pushed him towards the door, smiling, "Don’t worry, when I see that little girl, I’ll surely put in a good word for you." For that phrase, "Mrs. Sterling," he was tolerating what could be seen as aiding the wrongdoer.
Aidan Sinclair gritted his teeth and said "Thanks," thinking to himself, the little girl sees you as nothing but a wolf or a tiger, nothing good, and you’d better say less in front of her.
He looked up and saw Wendy Sheffield waiting by his room door, thinking it was a good time to get things clear.
"I’m a bit bored in the room. Do you have any good suggestions?" Wendy Sheffield asked nonchalantly. In actuality, just a moment before seeing Aidan Sinclair, her heart was still on fire.
