Chapter 339: Chapter 253: Overcoming the Mountain Wind!_1

The sea serpent mission is nearing its end.

Inside the dormitory of the last monitoring station.

Feng Yi hadn’t gone out to catch snakes for two days.

His mission was already complete, there was no need to dive into the water in search of sea serpents anymore.

Because Feng Yi was so efficient, the snake-catching exceeded the mission team’s expectations, and the task concluded earlier than in previous years.

The data collection was almost finished, and for many researchers, this was just the beginning. There was a lot of data processing and analysis work ahead.

But all that was beyond Feng Yi’s assignment.

With no more snakes to catch, Feng Yi didn’t immediately leave the team to go home.

He still had to write a mission summary report!

Never having imagined he’d have to write such a report, Feng Yi expended quite a few brain cells with little progress to show for it.

He hadn’t gone back to work specifically because having the group’s experts nearby meant he could ask them for advice now and then: what format to use, how to make revisions, what needed to be added, how to choose the right words, and so on—all skills he needed to learn and apply.

The mission summary reports for the United Insurance Bureau weren’t as simple as ordinary reports, they had many requirements and were very formal, plus they were linked to evaluations and promotions.

It was all in keeping with the United Insurance Bureau’s serious style.

Therefore, Feng Yi dared not take it lightly.

In this regard, he was truly a novice. Without consulting his seniors, he was at a complete loss.

The other experts in the group had to write academic papers in addition to their mission reports. However, at this stage, the other experts were busy analyzing data and fixing any shortcomings. They planned to continue writing their papers once they returned.

Compared to them, Feng Yi should have had it easier. No data analysis, no pressure of writing papers.

But just working on the mission report, having written only half of it, Feng Yi felt as if he had lost several pounds!

Catching snakes was just a moment’s effort, simple and straightforward, but who would have thought the aftermath would require writing such an extensive report!

Today, after sitting at home and writing for half a day, he looked back at the few words he had written, thinking that not even pigs could get fat on this!

Headache!

This was far too mentally taxing!

He deeply realized that his hands were more capable than his brain.

As he was nursing his headache, Feng Chi called.

Feng Chi, knowing his snake-catching mission was over, often kept in touch.

"I thought appearing on the show meant just going to that one station, improvising, and everything looks easy on TV. But who knew there were so many details to pay attention to! The more lessons I have, the more I feel I was an idiot before!" Feng Chi scratched his head.

"Tch, I’m pretty much in the same boat, writing the mission report made me realize my lack of awareness, and I’m struggling to keep up with the United Insurance Bureau’s pace. I’m reflecting on it," Feng Yi said with a pained expression, massaging his temples.

The two brothers complained to each other during the call, then they realized they were both having a tough day, finding solace in each other’s misery.

Well, that balanced things out.

At least they weren’t slaving away while the other was out enjoying himself.

After the call, Feng Yi let out a long sigh of relief.

He sat at his desk for a while, staring blankly at the mission report document on his computer, feeling his brain swell the more he looked at it.

He closed his computer and set it aside for the moment.

He went out to the balcony to look at the mountains behind the house.

The location was near the sea but not by the coast, from the dormitory’s back balcony, he could see the green mountains and patches of colorful flower forests.

It had rained last night, and today’s weather looked gloomy, but there was no rain forecasted for the next two days, and any rain would be a minor drizzle.

The roads were nearly dry, the air was still a bit humid, but the temperature was fine. ƒree𝑤ebnσvel.com

Many people might not be comfortable with such a climate, but for Feng Yi, it was acceptable, not affecting him in the slightest.

He stretched out lazily, loosening his muscles.

He said to Jia, "I’m going out for a run!"

His brain was overworked today, and he needed to relax it a bit.

He went downstairs and out the door, running in the direction away from the coast. He didn’t head deep into the mountains or forests; he had seen on the map that there was a newly developed tourist area in that direction, which he hadn’t visited since arriving for the mission. He’d heard the flowers on the hillside there were in full bloom.

For others, the distance to the scenic area from here might be a bit long, but for him, it was merely a light exertion.

There was a shorter route from the monitoring station to that scenic area, but it was more secluded, with fewer people passing by and not a very good signal. Tour guides would advise visitors to minimize traveling alone on that stretch of road.

There might be robbers, or one might encounter snakes or pythons passing by.

Feng Yi wasn’t afraid.

If someone did try to rob him, he would opt to send them flying first.

As for snakes and pythons, he feared them even less; they were all just minor playthings to him.

He ran on, his mind empty, along the mountain road.

Indeed, not writing the mission report felt so liberating!

The further he ran, the more refreshed he felt!

The surrounding natural environment also brought him great pleasure.

As he ran, the path forked ahead. Feng Yi already knew from checking the map which direction each path led and planned to stick to his intended route.

Up ahead was the tourist area, which was divided into two regions. One region was more crowded with hotels, guesthouses, and shopping streets—it was the main attraction for tourists.

The other region was closer to a natural state, often explored with a guide or local people showing the sights. Solo tourists rarely ventured there.

This wasn’t one of the nationally famous scenic spots; it was a lesser-known place with beautiful scenery. The local tourism development was still in its early stages and wasn’t very well-known, gaining a bit of popularity only in the last two years.

Therefore, there weren’t any large hotels in the area, but there were some chain hotels and local guesthouses.

And there were many guesthouses.

In the past two years, people who had worked elsewhere began returning home to start their businesses by opening guesthouses. They built marketing teams, and business was quite good.
