Clumsy Beast, Keep Your Paws Off-Chapter 321: Su Qinglan and Shi Feng looks good together!
Lin Muyu felt the heavy pressure of the Lion King’s presence and immediately shifted toward Shi Kuang.
She leaned in close, her voice a tiny whisper. "Why is your brother here?" she asked, her body tensed.
She was genuinely afraid. Shi Feng had the overwhelming aura of a true Tribe Leader, just like Su Qinglan’s father. To a fox beastman, he felt like a mountain that could crush them at any moment.
Shi Kuang looked at his older brother and then back at his new mate. He gave a playful shrug.
"I don’t know. Maybe he just came to see me? After all, I am his favorite brother," he replied with a grin.
Lin Muyu nodded slowly. "That makes sense, I guess."
But then Shi Kuang leaned down and whispered into her ear, his eyes sparkling with mischief.
"Actually, my brother is probably just jealous. I have a beautiful mate and a cub on the way, but he has no one. And with that scary, stiff face of his, who would even want to mate with him? He is nothing like me...I am charming and handsome. See?" He struck a small pose, looking very proud of himself.
Lin Muyu was still too tense to laugh. She kept her eyes on the ground, avoiding Shi Feng’s golden gaze.
Shi Feng, who had the sharp hearing of the strongest lion, heard every single word of his brother’s nonsense.
He didn’t change his expression, but he made a silent mental note to give Shi Kuang a very thorough "training session" and a good beating once they were back home.
Ignoring his brother’s nonsense, Shi Feng looked directly at Su Qinglan. "I have something important to ask the Tribe Leader," he said, his voice deep and calm. "Is he available to talk?"
Su Qinglan adjusted Xiao Er in her arms. She could feel the protective gaze of Rong Ye on her face.
"I was just heading toward his house myself," Su Qinglan replied politely. "You can come with us and see if he is ready for visitors."
Shi Feng nodded, still holding the bribed Xiao Yi in his arms. The little cub was too busy happily munching on his boneless fish to care about the tension between the adults.
"Okay, I will follow you," the Lion King said.
The group finally made their way toward the tribe leader’s house. Shi Feng walked in the front, tall and powerful, holding Xiao Yi effortlessly in one arm. Beside him walked Su Qinglan, who was carrying Xiao Er.
From a distance, they looked like a perfect, happy family. They both had the same calm expression, and they were each holding a cub that looked almost identical.
To any outsider, it looked like the Lion King and the daughter of the tribe leader were out for a stroll with their children.
Rong Ye, who was walking just a step behind, felt a sudden jolt of panic and anger.
No... no! he screamed in his head. He felt like a complete stranger watching a scene he didn’t belong in. He could not allow this image to continue for even one more second.
He quickly stepped forward, moving between them with a forced smile.
He reached out his arms toward the cub Su Qinglan was carrying. "Lan Lan, you’ve been carrying him for a while now. Your arms must be tired," he said, his voice a little tight but trying to sound helpful.
"Let me take Xiao Er. I’m his father, after all; I should be the one doing the heavy lifting."
Su Qinglan looked at Rong Ye’s slightly flustered face. She could see the hidden tension in his eyes. She knew he was feeling territorial, especially with the Lion King acting so comfortable with their children.
"I’m fine, Rong Ye; he’s not that heavy," Su Qinglan said with a small laugh. "But okay, if you want to hold him, go ahead. Xiao Er was just saying he wanted to see his daddy anyway."
Rong Ye immediately took Xiao Er into his arms, pulling the cub close to his chest. At least Xiao Er is a good baby, he thought, feeling a wave of relief.
The cub didn’t struggle; he just blinked his big eyes and rubbed his fuzzy head against Rong Ye’s chin.
The licking and grooming Rong Ye had done on the day the cub was born had clearly paid off. This one, at least, knew who his real father was.
Su Qinglan then turned her gaze to the other side. "Xiao Yi, come here now. You’ve bothered King Shi Feng long enough. Come to Mommy or Rong Ye."
But Xiao Yi was a different story. The naughty cub was still gripped onto the Lion King’s arm, his little mouth busy chewing on the red fish.
When he heard his mother’s voice, he just tightened his grip and let out a muffled, happy grunt through his snack. He had no intention of leaving the "tall man" who gave out free food.
Su Qinglan sighed and looked at Shi Feng. "I’m sorry, King Shi Feng. He’s a bit... food-motivated. He’s being very shameless today."
Shi Feng let out a low, rumbling chuckle that vibrated in his chest. "It is no trouble, Female Qinglan. He is a spirited cub. I don’t mind carrying him to your father’s door."
Behind them, Shi Kuang, Wang Mo, and Lin Muyu were watching the whole scene like it was a feast performance.
Lin Muyu leaned toward her husband and whispered, "Look at them. If you ignore the angry husbands, don’t you think Qinglan and the Lion King look like they belong together? They both have that ’leader’ energy."
Wang Mo looked a bit worried, but Shi Kuang just grinned. He knew his brother was interested, even if the Lion King wouldn’t admit it yet.
They finally reached in front of the tribe leader’s house. Su Qinglan took a deep breath, checked on the tiny snake cub Xiao San in her pocket, and called for him.
"Father? It’s me. We have... quite a few visitors."
