Chapter 377: Chapter 377: A Father’s Fear

At the mention of her name, Hu Yan’s eyes suddenly snapped back to life.

He looked up at Xuan Long and quickly pushed himself to his feet.

"Yes... we have to find Lan Lan," he said hoarsely. "She needs me. I can feel it."

He was about to transform into his huge tiger form and rush off, but before he could move, Xuan Long grabbed his shoulder.

"Nothing has happened to our female," Xuan Long said firmly, looking straight into his eyes. "She is not weak."

Hu Yan froze.

Xuan Long did not know what had happened before the explosion, but he could tell it was nothing good from the look in Hu Yan’s eyes. Still, he could not let one of her mates fall apart like this.

He knew how much each of them mattered to her. And more than anything, he wanted to find her as soon as possible.

He doesn’t have time to waste on consoling someone.

Just then, loud noises came from the distance.

Many figures rushed back into the valley. It was the remaining members of the Fox Tribe, along with the Lion Tribe and the Rabbit Tribe. They had cleared the beast tide and only now returned.

Many of them were injured. Some were limping, others were covered in blood. But they were alive.

Soon, Su Mingxuan arrived as well. The moment he saw the destroyed clearing and his daughter was missing, his expression turned pale. But when he heard that his daughter might still be alive, he forced himself to calm down.

There was still pain in his eyes.

Then, suddenly, he asked, "Where is Lan Yue?"

Lin Muyu, who was trembling beside Bai Ling, slowly stepped forward.

"Lan Yue... also disappeared," she said quietly. "She vanished in front of us, together with the cubs. It was like... like she was swallowed by the air."

Silence fell over the clearing.

Everyone was stunned.

Not only had Su Qinglan disappeared... but Lan Yue too.

Both daughters of the tribe leader were gone.

Su Mingxuan’s face went completely white. It felt like the world was spinning around him. His body swayed, as if he was about to lose consciousness.

Rong Ye quickly stepped forward and caught him.

"Don’t worry, Tribe Leader," Rong Ye said quickly. "We will find them. Maybe both females are together. They disappeared at the same time."

He spoke in a calm voice, trying to steady the older man.

"I can feel it. Lan Lan is fine. The cubs are fine too. Nothing has happened to them."

Su Mingxuan said nothing. He just stood there, his expression full of shock and pain.

Around them, the Fox Tribe, Lion Tribe, and Rabbit Tribe stood in silence. No one knew what to say.

The entire tribe was safe.

But it seemed the price for that safety was both daughters of the tribe leader.

A heavy, suffocating atmosphere settled over the valley. No one spoke, and no one dared to break the silence.

The valley was still wrapped in heavy silence. The atmosphere felt suffocating, as if even breathing had become difficult. Too many things had happened in a single day.

First, the warning about the incoming beast tide.

Then the panic and the running.

After that, the attack of the evil ferocious beasts.

And now, both daughters of the tribe leader had disappeared.

The tribe had barely survived, but the cost was too heavy.

Many of the beastmen stood with blank expressions, still unable to process everything. Some were injured. Some were simply exhausted. Others were lost in their own thoughts.

Just as the depressing silence grew deeper, several heads suddenly snapped up.

Because they felt it... someone’s presence.

Two, actually.

The aura was unfamiliar, and it was coming closer to the tribe.

At once, the already tense tribe became even more alert. Many of the warriors straightened up despite their injuries. Some shifted into defensive stances. Others immediately let out their claws.

After everything that had happened, no one trusted strangers.

All eyes turned toward the edge of the valley.

Soon, two figures appeared, walking slowly toward the tribe. They looked like travelers. Both of them had haggard faces, as if they had not rested for days. Their expressions were filled with worry.

Still, no one lowered their guard.

Several beastmen glared at them fiercely, ready to attack at the first wrong move. Even though the witch doctor was dead and the beast tribe had been wiped out, the tension had not left their hearts.

They had suffered too much in a single day.

On the other side, the two strangers also stopped when they saw the scene. Their eyes widened slightly at the destroyed clearing, the injured beastmen, and the lingering smell of evil energy in the air.

It did not take long for them to realize what had happened.

This tribe had clearly faced the evil ferocious beast tide.

There was a trace of pity in their eyes. But they did not linger on it. Right now, they were the most miserable ones.

They walked closer but stopped at a respectful distance.

The younger man stepped forward first. His voice was tired but polite.

"Please don’t mind us, strangers. We are just travelers. We are looking for my mate."

He swallowed, his eyes searching the crowd.

"I felt that my mate was here. Have you seen her?"

Han Jue stepped forward. As someone who had always assisted the tribe leader, he naturally took the lead when the leader was not in a state to speak.

He looked at the two men carefully. His senses picked up something strange.

There was a faint scent of the sea around them. They were not land beastmen; clearly, they were sea beastmen.

"Are you from the sea?" Han Jue asked calmly. "You don’t look like land dwellers."

The younger man nodded without hesitation.

"Yes. We are from the sea. We were returning from Beast City, but we were attacked on the way. My mate disappeared during the chaos."

He clenched his fists.

"The totem guided me. It told me my mate was in this direction."

Then he gestured to the older man beside him.

"This is my father-in-law, my mate’s father."
