Clumsy Beast, Keep Your Paws Off-Chapter 394: The Teng Clan’s Greatest Embarrassment
Teng Siyan’s expression slowly turned solemn as he looked at the nonchalant man sitting before him.
In the entire Upper Domain, aside from this person, who would dare to speak to him in such a mocking tone?
No one.
This man was truly something else.
If it were not for his extremely high status in the Upper Domain, and his identity as the heir of the God Clan, Teng Siyan would have already taught him a harsh lesson for such disrespect.
But now, he could only grit his teeth and endure it.
His fingers tightened slightly around the tea bowl before he slowly placed it down.
And that damn brat, Xuan Long, just had to be friends with someone like him.
Both of them were unruly. Both of them had no respect for elders.
Thinking of Xuan Long, Teng Siyan’s hand clenched under his sleeve.
That damn brat had never given them a good face.
They were clearly his only remaining relatives in this world.
Yet he always looked at them with cold eyes, as if he did not acknowledge them at all. He even dared to look down on them.
Teng Siyan’s gaze darkened slightly. But not anymore...this time, things would be different.
He had already thought of a way to tie Xuan Long down. No matter how arrogant or distant that brat was, he would have no choice but to return.
And once he returned, everything would fall into place.
Teng Siyan looked at An Mo for a long moment before finally speaking.
"I have already prepared a mate for Xuan Long," he said in a steady voice. "Go and tell him to return and mate with the designated female."
An Mo had just lifted the tea bowl to moisten his throat. But listening to this bullshit he almost spat it out.
"What?"
Teng Siyan’s face remained stern.
"He is the only one in the younger generation with the purest bloodline. He cannot waste his time hibernating in unknown places. He carries the burden of continuing the line. The clan cannot wait any longer."
An Mo blinked slowly.
For a second, he truly thought he had misheard. Then he almost laughed at the absurdity of this situation.
"Found... a female for Xuan Long?"
The corner of his lips twitched uncontrollably.
Teng Siyan’s expression darkened when he saw the obvious amusement on An Mo’s face.
"Yes," he said coldly. "Is there a problem?"
An Mo finally could not hold it in anymore. A low chuckle escaped his throat.
It quickly turned into open laughter.
Teng Siyan’s face completely soured.
"Why are you laughing?" he demanded.
An Mo wiped the corner of his eye as if he was truly amused. "Elder Teng, since you are so capable, where did you find such a female? Tell me as well. I am suddenly very curious."
Teng Siyan’s eyes turned sharp.
"That does not concern Lord An Mo. This is a matter of the Teng Clan."
An Mo laughed even harder.
"A matter of the Teng Clan?" he repeated.
He leaned back in his chair lazily, crossing one leg over the other.
"Then it truly has nothing to do with me. I am not interested in any female chosen by the Teng Clan."
His tone was light and careless, but his eyes held a dangerous glint. Then he tilted his head slightly and looked directly at Teng Siyan.
"But tell me, Elder Teng... how do you even dare to assume that Xuan Long will actually mate with that female?"
The room grew quiet.
Teng Siyan’s gaze became cold.
"That is not your concern," he said once again. "Once the arrangement is made, he will obey. He cannot defy the clan forever."
An Mo almost wanted to clap.
Obey?
Defy the clan forever?
Inside his heart, he was already laughing wildly.
This old man truly knew nothing.
Xuan Long had already found a mate. Not only that, he had treasured her like a jewel.
And he had even birthed a precious egg. Whom he loves more than his life.
If this old geezer knew that the so called clan heir had long since tied his fate to someone else, he would probably faint on the spot.
An Mo’s lips slowly curled upward into a cunning smile.
"Elder Teng," he said in a mocking tone, "as far as I know Xuan Long... he will never mate with anyone."
He paused deliberately.
"And especially not with someone chosen by the Teng Clan."
Teng Siyan’s jaw tightened.
"You are overestimating him," he said coldly. "Bloodline and duty are above personal feelings."
An Mo snorted softly.
"Is that so?"
He leaned forward slightly, resting his elbow on the table.
"Then why not try it yourself?"
Teng Siyan frowned. "What do you mean?"
An Mo’s smile widened.
"If it concerns the Teng Clan so much, why do you not mate with that female yourself? Go and give birth to plenty of Teng Clan eggs. Would that not solve the problem faster?"
For a split second, the hall fell completely silent.
Then...
Crack!
The porcelain tea bowl in Teng Siyan’s hand shattered. Violent energy surged violently around him. His eyes turned icy.
"Lord An Mo," he said through clenched teeth, "mind your words."
But An Mo only laughed louder. He knew very clearly what he was doing.
Teng Siyan had a very tragic problem. He couldn’t form a true mate bond.
Actually... it wasn’t just him. The entire Teng clan had the same issue. For such a mighty, powerful, legendary dragon-snake clan, they had a terribly small population. Why? Because none of them could bond properly!
It was honestly embarrassing.
So when he saw that Xuan Long not only managed to bond with a beautiful female...but also had a strong, healthy cub?
He almost choked on his own pride. How did that grumpy snake manage to do it?!
An Mo told himself he wasn’t jealous.
That was a lie.
A BIG lie.
He was so jealous that he felt like his insides were turning green. He had done so much for that cold-faced fellow...helped him, supported him, tolerated his bad temper and this was how he was repaid?
Not even an invitation when he found a female? Not even a word when his son was born?!
Hmph! Unforgivable...
Revenge would definitely be taken.
But first things first...He needed to win the affection of that beautiful female.
Then he would show that grumpy snake who the real winner was.
