Conquest Game: The Aloof Husband is Dangerous!-Chapter 230 - 203: I Do
Time ticked by, second by second. In the room, it was just the three of them; John and the others had quietly slipped out long ago, as outsiders wouldn’t want to disturb such a warm moment.
Just as Justin Hawthorne was about to speak, he was stopped by a look from his dad. He had selfishly brought his son to witness today’s proposal, and he couldn’t let his son speak up and help, otherwise...
"I do."
Laura Quincy’s clear and pleasant voice suddenly rang out in the room. Jason Hawthorne looked up in surprise, his eyes filled with unrestrained joy.
He suddenly got up, approached, and lifted Laura off her feet, spinning her around, his voice overflowing with excitement, "Laura, I didn’t hear wrong, did I? You agreed to marry me! You finally agreed to marry me!" 𝒻𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝘯𝘰𝑣ℯ𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝘮
Laura was infected by his happiness, a joyful curve involuntarily tugged at her lips, and even her ears turned slightly red in her bashfulness, "Put me down quickly! Your hand hasn’t fully healed yet!"
Hearing her concern, Jason was even happier, but the strength of one hand was indeed not as lasting as both. So, he promptly set her back down.
As her toes just touched the ground, Laura felt a few scenes flash rapidly through her mind, some clear, some not...
Recently, such situations had become somewhat frequent, completely irregular, with past memories occasionally popping up...
However, before she could reminisce, her lips were sealed...
Her thoughts instantly became a mess...
Despite just this, Laura’s cheeks were already flushed with embarrassment, and she playfully scolded, "You... how could you in front of Twinkle..."
Jason, however, was indifferent, "It’s nothing, our son should be taught from a young age. He’ll have to learn sooner or later."
Hearing his shameless words, Laura wished she could punch him.
Twinkle blinked his big, clear eyes and asked in confusion, "Daddy, Sis, if you do this, will you give me a little sister?"
Laura instantly wished she could find a hole and crawl into it...
So embarrassing!
Jason cleared his throat lightly, "Does Twinkle really want a little sister?"
Twinkle’s eyes rolled around and then he nodded heavily, "Uh-huh!"
After a pause, he asked worriedly, "After I get a little sister, will Sis not like me anymore?"
Laura hurried to speak, "No! Sis will always like Twinkle."
She spoke quickly, but with clear certainty.
Twinkle finally felt happy, "Hehe... Then Daddy, hurry and give Twinkle a little sister!"
Jason’s face went black, did his son think having a child was up to him?
He couldn’t help but beckon his son over, "Twinkle, having a little sister isn’t that easy, it requires Daddy and Mommy..."
He was interrupted by Laura before he could finish, "What nonsense are you telling a child?"
Twinkle looked bewildered, seemingly very curious to know the answer.
Jason quickly reassured his agitated lady, "Don’t worry, I’ll eventually have to talk about these topics with Twinkle, I’ll be careful with the way I do it."
Laura pouted and stopped speaking. Since he said he’d be careful with the way he handled it, he shouldn’t say anything inappropriate...
Just the thought of teaching her son about that subject now still seemed too early!
While she was anxiously worrying, Twinkle was already eager to know the "truth," so Jason took him aside to whisper...
On the same night, Jason successfully proposed, and the family of three was overjoyed. As the May Day holidays approached, Twinkle had already blurted out his desire to visit Disneyland...
Asher Thorne was a bit worried when he couldn’t get through to Sophie Sutton’s phone, especially since he couldn’t reach Silas Sutton either. After pondering for a few minutes, he decided to call Eric Thorne.
Currently at a hotel, Eric Thorne didn’t expect his third brother to call him, a strange smile appearing on his lips. He then forcibly dragged Sophie into the master bedroom, locked the door, and warned, "You’d better behave, or else..."
His threat was very effective, making Sophie a bit frightened by Eric’s sudden, unreasonable behavior, which was akin to that of a devil...
After locking the door, Eric walked to the balcony to answer the call, "Third Brother, is there something you need?"
Asher, having waited for a long time for the call to be answered, long enough that he thought Eric might not pick up, finally spoke.
"Oh... nothing much. The young owner of New City Group came to me a few days ago, wanting to collaborate with you on developing an IP web series. They detailed the market and fan value carefully, but unfortunately, I don’t understand these things, so I gave them your business card. How did the talks go?"
Eric chuckled, "Third Brother, you usually never asked about these things."
Asher lightly tapped the table with his fingers, speaking blandly, "New City Group has always been one of Thorne’s most loyal partners. Now that they’ve suddenly proposed this new project, I naturally have to pay attention."
Eric didn’t expose him, "Their proposed plan is indeed very enticing. I’ve decided to give it a try."
Asher raised his brow slightly, and from his brief conversation with Eric, he could tell that Eric didn’t want to talk much with him, only wishing to get it over with quickly...
What does this indicate?
The call itself was just a test...
And positioning his exact location at the same time.
"Alright, as long as you’ve decided."
"Third Brother, if there’s nothing else, I’m hanging up."
"Okay."
Upon hanging up, Asher obtained a geographic location.
"Young Master Thorne, Young Master Eric is now at the Castlewood Resort outside the Sixth Ring Road."
"Alright, got it."
He then turned to his special assistant, Connor Sterling, "Check if Eric has scheduled any client meetings over there tonight."
Connor nodded, "Yes, sir."
After delegating the task, Asher lit himself a cigarette; he couldn’t shake off a sense of foreboding that Sophie not answering might have something to do with Eric.
Upon hanging up, Eric had a sense that Third Brother seemed to have realized something and promptly walked back to the bedroom, opening the door without thinking twice.
He initially thought Sophie might rush over angrily, but instead found her sitting quietly at the dressing table...
He noted that her long hair, which was initially loose, was now neatly tied up.
"Let’s go."
Sitting in front of the mirror, Sophie slowly turned, casting a sharp, cold look his way, thoroughly checking him from top to bottom.
"Where are you taking me?"
Her tone was lighthearted and casual, making it impossible to discern her mood.
Though Eric felt that Sophie appeared a bit different from just moments ago, he didn’t overthink it. After all, she had been here the whole time, it wasn’t like she could have transformed into someone else.
Besides, perhaps she’d just thought things through and decided not to argue with him anymore.
Thinking this way, he didn’t find anything strange about it, "Just come with me."
He then stepped forward to hold Sophie’s hand, only to have her pull it away, "I can walk by myself."
Eric looked at her suspiciously; had she indeed thought it through?
Then he coldly warned her, "You better not have any funny ideas!"
Unexpectedly, Sophie flashed a bright smile, tilting her head playfully, "What funny ideas could I have?"
