Consequences of Dumping the Obsessive Boss: Stuck with Him Forever-Chapter 170: Couple Outfits, Sending Flowers—Smile for Me, Honey?
Maxim Sinclair lowered his head and chuckled without saying a word. After a while, he glanced at the small yacht cutting through the waves in the distance and turned to ask Summer Lowell, "Do you see that yacht they’re playing with on the sea? Doesn’t it look fun? I’ll take you to play with it tomorrow, okay?"
Summer glanced in the direction he was looking, then continued eating, her expression revealing nothing about whether she agreed or disagreed.
Maxim was used to her indifferent attitude and continued talking to himself: "In a couple of days, two designers from Freland will come here for a vacation. I’ve already contacted them. I’ll take you to their gathering."
Hearing this, Summer was a bit tempted. Designers who could come to this island for a vacation certainly weren’t ordinary. This was a big allure.
Maxim noticed her excitement and a satisfied look flashed in his eyes. It seemed that his well-paid little assistant was quite useful, and catering to her interests might have a significant effect.
Airport.
Tina Huxley pushed her luggage out, and before reaching the exit, she heard someone calling her from behind. Turning around, she was surprised to see that it was Melanie Sinclair.
Melanie quickly caught up, equally surprised: "Miss Tina, it’s really you. I thought your silhouette looked familiar when I was waiting for my luggage. Did you take this flight too? Why didn’t I see you on the plane?"
Tina smiled, "Perhaps because I fell asleep right after boarding. What a coincidence, are you here to see your brother?"
Melanie blinked, looking even more surprised: "Is my brother here too?"
"Yes, he’s here with Mrs. Sinclair for a vacation. I was going to ask why you didn’t come with him." Tina pushed her luggage, walking and chatting as they headed out.
"What a coincidence!" Melanie said casually, then explained to Tina, "I’m here for a pre-wedding party of a friend of mine. A classmate from abroad is holding a week-long pre-wedding party on this island, and I came to join in. If you’re free, you should come along too!"
"Sure, let’s keep in touch. My car is here." Tina waved goodbye and pushed her luggage toward the car she had booked in advance.
At dusk.
The glow of the setting sun spilled generously across the picturesque island. Awaking from her nap, Summer Lowell poured herself a cold drink and stood on the balcony to admire the rare beauty.
Returning from a swim, Maxim Sinclair quickly showered and, wrapped in a bathrobe, came to the balcony looking for Summer: "On my way here, I heard there’s a large barbecue area to the west. It’s quite lively. Put on something you like, and I’ll take you there to have fun."
Summer tiptoed to look toward the west but saw nothing.
Her antics amused Maxim: "There’s a large coconut grove between here and the barbecue area, you can’t see it."
Summer let out a slightly embarrassed "hmm," put down her cup, and went to change clothes.
When she came out after changing, she saw Maxim leaning against the door, fiddling with his phone, and paused, then turned to go back and change again.
The dress she chose looked too much like a couple’s outfit with Maxim’s clothes. 𝚏𝐫𝚎𝗲𝕨𝐞𝐛𝕟𝚘𝐯𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝗺
"No, don’t change. I like you in this outfit," Maxim put away his phone and took a few quick steps to Summer, his voice carrying a hint of playful threat, "If you insist on changing, guess how I’ll handle you tonight?"
Summer glared at him angrily, gave up the thought of changing, muttering as she walked out: "You only know how to play these tricks on me."
"It’s not about how many tricks, as long as they work." Maxim said with a smile, holding her hand and tying a bracelet with a white jade stone around her wrist, "I picked this up on my way back from swimming this afternoon. I forgot to give it to you earlier, but it goes perfectly with your outfit and suits you too. Just like you, not eye-catching at first glance, but prettier the more you look."
Summer blushed at his words but subtly avoided Maxim’s hand reaching for her waist, quickening her pace to put some distance between them.
Maxim quickly saw through her ploy, but he was in too good a mood to bicker with Summer tonight.
He maintained a leisurely distance of a few steps, walking with her toward the barbecue area.
From their hotel to the specially designated barbecue area to the west, they had to pass through a large coconut grove.
The groves were meticulously designed by the island owner with exquisite stone paths. Dim and romantic street lights lined the paths, a favorite strolling spot for vacationing couples at night.
Summer and Maxim walked along the stone paths, one after the other. Just as they were about to exit the coconut grove, a little boy carrying a large bouquet of flowers suddenly appeared from nowhere.
The boy ran straight to Maxim, eagerly holding up the bouquet, skillfully pitching his sale: "Sir, buy a bouquet for the lady, and you’ll be together forever."
Summer, who was walking ahead, turned around at the commotion and couldn’t help but exclaim, "This kid really knows how to do business."
Maxim nodded in agreement, pulling out his wallet with one hand, laughing as he said, "His blessing is such that I can’t refuse to buy."
While speaking, Maxim smiled and glanced at Summer.
His gaze made Summer inexplicably flustered, prompting her to speak loudly, "If you buy it, keep it for yourself! Don’t give it to me, I don’t like flowers."
The boy, eyes shining and ready to take the money, was momentarily stunned by her words, but soon looked expectantly at Maxim: "Sir, I picked these flowers with care. If you’ve argued with the lady, it’s even more reason to give her flowers. No woman dislikes flowers."
Maxim, unable to hold back his amusement, put the thick wad of cash into the boy’s hands: "Whose child are you? How did you end up selling flowers here? I remember this island is private."
"My family works on this island, and I sell flowers here when I have nothing to do," the boy said, hefting the cash without counting it and stuffing it into the small bag hanging on his chest. He glanced at Summer walking ahead and handed all the flowers to Maxim, "I wish you the best of luck making the lady happy and staying together forever."
Maxim laughed at that, chasing after Summer, who had walked ahead with the large bouquet: "What a coincidence, these are your favorite Daphne flowers."
