Consequences of Dumping the Obsessive Boss: Stuck with Him Forever-Chapter 173: Teaching You to Fish, Step by Step
Maxim Sinclair circled around firmly, catching Summer Lowell, who was about to run away, and pulled her to the table, grabbing the hairdryer beside him: "This little habit of yours of not liking to blow-dry your hair after washing it just can’t be changed."
Summer Lowell couldn’t stand his affectionate demeanor, reached out to snatch the hairdryer from him, got up, and stepped aside: "No need to trouble you, I can do it myself."
Maxim Sinclair didn’t want to argue with her, nor did he want to cause any unpleasantness, as their relationship had just started to improve over the past couple of days.
He nodded and let Summer Lowell do her thing: "Finish up quickly then, in half an hour, I’ll contact the yacht manager and take you out fishing."
It seemed evident that Maxim Sinclair was determined to take her out.
Forget it, it’s better to just comply obediently.
After more than fifty minutes, Maxim Sinclair took Summer Lowell to the seaside, where the yacht manager was already waiting. Seeing Maxim Sinclair approach, he led two people to greet him, introducing, "Mr. Sinclair, these are the experienced yacht hands you requested. For your and your wife’s safety, I specially selected the two top safety officers on the island for you."
As he spoke, he pointed to the two men in safety uniforms not far away.
Maxim Sinclair nodded in satisfaction and was about to walk towards the yacht, holding Summer Lowell’s hand.
At that moment, Tina Huxley’s voice came from behind.
Summer Lowell paused, pulling the seemingly uninterested Maxim Sinclair, and looked at him with a subtle smile: "Miss Tina is here too, aren’t you going to say hello? After all, you were childhood friends, and I heard you almost became a couple."
Maxim Sinclair, unable to proceed as she held him back, could only turn around and look at Tina Huxley approaching from not far away, along with Melanie Sinclair trailing a couple of steps behind.
The manager, not understanding what was happening, asked Maxim Sinclair courteously, "Mr. Sinclair, you seem to have two more friends. Should we switch to a larger yacht? The current one might not accommodate more people."
"No need, I won’t be with them." Maxim Sinclair shook his head in refusal, his right hand tightly gripping Summer Lowell’s hand, watching the approaching Tina Huxley with a cold expression, "What are you doing here?"
Tina Huxley’s heart ached at his attitude, but she quickly recovered, greeting Summer Lowell with a familiar smile: "Miss Lowell, long time no see."
This familiarity seemed as if they had a better relationship than they actually did.
Summer Lowell was wary of her, afraid she might be scheming something harmful, so out of self-preservation, she responded with a bland attitude: "Miss Huxley is good as well."
While they were exchanging pleasantries, Melanie Sinclair caught up a bit later. She approached them with a particularly courteous and sincere bow: "Big brother, sister-in-law, what a coincidence, you’re vacationing here too."
"Indeed a coincidence." Maxim Sinclair stared at her with a deep gaze, "I hope it’s just a coincidence."
Melanie Sinclair laughed heartily: "It’s rare to see big brother have time for a vacation. It seems like you’re going fishing. Can Miss Tina and I join you? The manager just mentioned there are no extra yachts."
Before Maxim Sinclair could decline, Melanie turned and waved to someone afar, explaining to Maxim Sinclair: "Besides us, there are other designers I met last night while swimming. I was planning to go fishing with them today, but unfortunately, the yachts are too small for us. There’s a larger one, but we don’t have the status for the manager to lend it."
Maxim Sinclair looked down at Summer Lowell: "Did you hear what she said? There are two more designers who want to join in fishing."
Summer Lowell did hear, but she didn’t grasp Maxim Sinclair’s intention: "So?"
"If you’d like to get in touch with those designers," Maxim Sinclair looked at the group observing from afar, "I can request a larger yacht to include them, giving you an opportunity to network with the designers."
Summer Lowell glanced at Tina Huxley and Melanie Sinclair who looked at her expectantly, then at the group waiting in the distance, and after some consideration, nodded in agreement: "Let’s bring them all along then."
The manager, hearing this, hurried to the seaside to arrange the yacht switch.
Maxim Sinclair took her to a quieter spot, reminding her in a low voice: "Think it through, Tina Huxley and Melanie Sinclair are both cunning, letting them on the yacht so easily might put you at a disadvantage later."
"I noticed, among the designers Miss Sinclair mentioned, there’s one I’ve wanted to connect with for a long time."
Maxim Sinclair smiled noncommittally: "With me here, whoever you want to connect with, just let me know and I’ll invite them over to meet you."
He certainly could do that, but Summer Lowell couldn’t bring herself to make such a request.
She glanced at Tina Huxley peeking over from a distance, deliberately provoking Maxim Sinclair: "Are you feeling guilty seeing your ex-girlfriend?"
"Don’t you know who my ex-girlfriend is?" Maxim Sinclair leaned close, his voice carrying a smile, "When we face each other like this, who’s more guilty?"
"Speak properly, don’t come so close." Summer Lowell pushed him away, turning towards the seaside, "It seems they have the yacht ready, let’s go."
"Miss Tina." Melanie Sinclair smiled as she approached, "What are you thinking about? Why do you seem like you’re in a daze?"
Tina Huxley withdrew her gaze, looked at Melanie Sinclair’s harmless smile, and replied faintly, "Nothing, just spacing out for a bit."
A while later, the manager returned: "Mr. Sinclair, Mrs. Sinclair, the yacht is prepared for you."
Maxim Sinclair intertwined his right hand with Summer Lowell’s left, firmly leading her towards the yacht without looking back: "Then let’s get on board quickly, tell them not to dawdle."
Upon boarding, Summer Lowell mingled with the two designers, kindly inviting them for drinks.
As they barely started conversing, Maxim Sinclair suddenly appeared, taking Summer Lowell to the front of the yacht, positioning himself behind her, enclosing her in his arms while guiding her hands on the fishing rod: "The best-tasting grilled fish you ate last night was fished from this sea area. Catch one yourself and grill it for a better taste."
Summer Lowell squirmed uncomfortably: "Could you let go of me? Everyone’s watching."
"Ignore them." Maxim Sinclair’s palm covered the back of Summer Lowell’s hand, "Focus, stop looking around, I’ll teach you how to fish."
At the yacht’s stern, Tina Huxley, eyes fixed on Summer Lowell, had veins bulging on the back of her hand, nearly crushing the bottle she held.
Melanie Sinclair walked over with a fruit platter, smiling knowingly.
