Consequences of Dumping the Obsessive Boss: Stuck with Him Forever-Chapter 186: Who Is Maxim Sinclair?
"You’d better change your attitude now. I know you have issues with Summer Lowell, but you must understand, she is my fiancée now, not your rival. You should treat her with the respect appropriate for a future sister-in-law. She’s very sensitive, and if you continue like this, she’ll easily sense something’s wrong."
Tina Huxley reluctantly nodded, "Got it, I’ll watch my attitude. But seriously, are you really going to marry her? My dad found a few girls for you who are suitable for a union, don’t they all surpass her?"
"I’ve seen the photos of those girls Uncle found for me, none of them are prettier than her."
"Why are you just like those men, so shallow, only caring about looks?" Tina frowned with displeasure, "Other than that face, what does Summer Lowell have that matches you?"
Justin Huxley laughed heartily, speaking frankly, "I just fancy her face. I don’t need a marriage alliance to expand my power; finding a beautiful and gentle woman to live with is enough for me. But you should hurry up and take down Maxim Sinclair."
Tina snorted, initially wanting to voice more disapproval of Summer Lowell.
But upon further thought, having Justin marry Summer would at least completely dispel Maxim Sinclair’s intentions.
Varden Villa.
Maxim Sinclair emerged from the bathroom, drying his hair as he entered the living room. Assistant Collins was sitting quietly on the sofa and immediately rose upon seeing him, "President Sinclair, the person Justin Huxley brought back to the country indeed poses a problem, but we still don’t know her identity; we’re continuing to investigate."
"Didn’t I instruct you to bribe The Huxley Residence’s cook? Regardless of the price, you must get that person under control."
Maxim poured a glass of water and stood by the window, pointing at a flowering tree in the courtyard and instructing the butler, "I remember Summer Lowell liked those flowers very much. Take good care of them, keep them nice and thriving, so she’ll be pleased when she sees them on her return."
The butler nodded in response and left the living room to instruct the gardeners.
Assistant Collins observed from the side, secretly amazed.
President Sinclair was even more sentimental than he had imagined.
Sadly, this sentiment seems a little late; misunderstanding and discord seemed more prevalent between him and Summer before.
"Matthew had originally struck up a conversation with Auntie Jacobs, the cook who’s been with The Huxley Residence for over a decade. But for some unknown reason, Auntie Jacobs was dismissed the next day, reportedly on Justin Huxley’s orders."
"Such a big reaction. I’m even more certain now; the person Justin Huxley brought back that night is definitely Summer Lowell."
Maxim Sinclair tightly gripped the glass, staring silently into the distance for a moment, "Change tactics; focus next on all the projects handled by Justin Huxley. Make him suffer first so he has to come to me and beg."
Assistant Collins hesitated, "If he’s pushed too hard and decides to do something harmful to Madam, what then?"
"He doesn’t dare; he presents himself differently to Summer Lowell. He won’t show his true self. Summer, although a bit foolish, isn’t beyond help. If Justin Huxley dares to reveal his true self, she’ll immediately realize the evidence I showed her before is genuine."
Assistant Collins nodded, temporarily feeling Maxim Sinclair’s reasoning held, but still sensing something was off, "But if that person is truly Madam, why would she go with Justin Huxley to The Huxley Residence? And why doesn’t President Sinclair directly go there to demand her back?"
Maxim Sinclair cast a deep gaze at him, eyes brewing a storm.
"Instead of guessing blindly here, it would be better to get to work on this. Go investigate the projects Justin Huxley is handling now and to come, draft plans against them, and bring them to me for review."
Realizing he’d misspoken, Assistant Collins nodded repeatedly, "Alright then, I’ll get on it right away."
At this moment.
Disguised, Vivian Sullivan circled to the hospital’s back entrance and got into a car that had been waiting.
The car arrived at The Huxley Estate half an hour later.
Vivian followed a waiting maid to the fourth floor of the villa, to Summer Lowell’s room.
At the entrance to the fourth-floor stairs, Justin Huxley greeted her with a smile, "I apologize for making you come here specially."
Vivian shook her head, too occupied to socialize, quickly stepped forward before him, and pressed, "Where’s Summer? You said she’s here with you."
"No rush, am I the type to deceive you?"
Justin Huxley smiled calmly, guiding her to the room facing the staircase, knocked on the door, then pushed it open to enter, addressing Summer Lowell, who was aimlessly drawing by the window, "Your good friend is here to see you, Vivian Sullivan, your most important friend."
Summer Lowell set down her paintbrush, standing up blankly, looking at the red-eyed Vivian Sullivan, "Vivian Sullivan?"
Vivian rushed over, embraced her, and after carefully checking her over with a choked voice, wiped her tears and queried Justin Huxley behind, "What’s going on with her? Why does she seem like she doesn’t recognize me?"
"Summer has lost some memory. But the doctor said she’ll recall them later. Now it’s just temporary amnesia; her diagnosis report is with me, I’ll give it to you to see shortly."
"It’s alright, forgetting is alright. As long as you’re fine, that’s better than anything," Vivian embraced her again, released her after a long while, "Summer, you really scared me."
"I’m alright. I’m living well, Justin is taking very good care of me." Summer Lowell smiled awkwardly, then asked Justin Huxley somewhat politely, "I’d like to talk to my friend alone for a while, is that okay?"
"Of course, you don’t need to ask my permission for such things. I told you before, you can do as you wish, don’t be constrained." Justin Huxley smiled, then seriously told Vivian, "If work isn’t too busy, stay over tonight, keep Summer company. Her sense of security is low since losing her memory."
"I know. I took leave especially before I came." Vivian nodded and agreed, then after Justin Huxley left the room, turned her head around, looking at Summer Lowell with mixed emotions, "What did you go through? Was Maxim Sinclair bullying you again? Weren’t you supposed to be traveling? How did things turn out like this?"
"Maxim Sinclair? Who’s that? Could it be the person Justin mentioned?"
Since awakening, Summer Lowell finally heard the name of the one Justin Huxley claimed wanted to break them apart.
Vivian hesitated, unsure how to explain Maxim Sinclair’s existence to Summer Lowell.
She pondered for a while, then asked Summer Lowell, "What’s the state of your memory now? How much can you remember?"
Summer Lowell pointed outside the door, "I can’t remember anything. Justin said he’s my boyfriend, said we’re about to get married and that someone has always wanted to break us apart."
