Consequences of Dumping the Obsessive Boss: Stuck with Him Forever-Chapter 194: Maxim Sinclair Encounters the Isolated Summer Lowell
Mr. Huxley took a puff of his cigarette and said, "It’s a pity that Tina couldn’t win over Maxim Sinclair. Otherwise, with the Sinclair Family’s support, the Huxley Family’s future would be secure. But given the current situation, she can’t be relied upon."
"Well, men often seek novelty, but when it comes to marriage, given Maxim Sinclair’s status, he probably sees Summer Lowell as a sweet diversion. Tina still has a chance."
"And what about you? What are your plans with the one you brought back?"
"We’ll address that when the time comes. For now, the most important thing is to help you, Uncle, win this battle at hand," Justin Huxley smiled meaningfully, "With you around, I won’t worry about having no one by my side in the future."
"Good lad, I like your cleverness."
Mr. Huxley laughed heartily, then extinguished his cigar and began to dismiss Justin Huxley, "It’s getting late. Rest early and try to make a good impression on President Grant from Aevum Group tomorrow. No rush on the project; all sides are preparing."
"Understood, Uncle. But to ensure our plan goes smoothly, you need to find a way to stall the Sinclair Group, give them as many distractions as possible."
"I’m aware of that," Mr. Huxley nodded slightly, "We’ll press from both sides. Your two brothers, my two inadequate sons, will return from abroad soon. Together, you three should have no trouble breaking one of Maxim Sinclair’s wings."
"So Fullbrother and Yonbrother are coming back too? That’s great; Uncle will have two more helping hands."
"Those two aren’t very capable. Studying abroad was just an excuse to fool around. You’re close in age; help guide them when they return."
"Of course, we’re family, after all. I’ll head back to rest, and you should rest early too, Uncle. Auntie was just worried about your health a few days ago. This battle won’t be easy, so you should take care of yourself first."
"Alright, I have a call to make, then I’ll rest. Go back to your room first."
Justin Huxley respectfully retreated from the study, maintaining his gentle smile until his room door was closed.
Once the door shut, Justin Huxley’s expression changed immediately, as if he had removed a mask.
Ha, what a foolish family.
...
Tina Huxley intercepted Summer Lowell in the back garden after breakfast while she was playing with cats: "Sister-in-law, do you have any plans for today?"
Summer Lowell shook her head, subtly observing her gaze: "No plans, why?"
"That’s perfect! Let’s go shopping together. Vaughn told me before he left to keep you company, so you don’t get bored alone here."
"It’s fine. I’m not bored. Justin got me a few books. After feeding these two cats, I plan to go read."
"What’s so interesting about books? Let’s go shopping together. My friend just opened a new bar, a quiet one. Let’s go have a couple of drinks and have some fun?"
Tina was so enthusiastic that Summer couldn’t find an excuse that worked to refuse.
Eventually, she had no choice but to go out with her.
Tina took Summer to New Horizon Plaza, parked the car, and affectionately took Summer’s arm as they walked forward: "Sister-in-law, what do you usually do for fun?"
"I don’t know. I don’t have any memory of the past."
Summer spoke earnestly, with no trace of deceit on her face.
Tina listened while looking ahead, her mind briefly filled with darker thoughts.
Without memory, Summer was like a defenseless little rabbit.
Tina thought she could use this opportunity to teach her a lesson and vent some of her own grievances.
After all, she had suffered silently from Summer’s actions before.
Just as Tina had this thought, she suddenly recalled Maxim Sinclair’s warning at the engagement party a few days ago.
Maxim always follows through. If he found out she did something to Summer, he definitely wouldn’t let her off.
Though scared, Tina felt very resentful.
Why?
Just because she has a pretty face, why does Summer get to have so many men enamored with her?
Even though she’s engaged now, Maxim still can’t forget her. What’s so great about Summer?
"Tina, Tina, what are you thinking about? I was talking to you, and you didn’t respond." Summer waved a hand in front of her face, looking puzzled, "Are you okay?"
Tina snapped out of it: "I was thinking about where to take you later. Did you say something, sister-in-law?"
"Yes, I spoke to you several times, but you didn’t respond," Summer nodded, thanked the security guard who opened the door, and continued, "I was asking where you plan to go. You seem familiar with this place."
"I’m here often with friends, so of course I’m familiar," Tina said, catching a familiar figure out of the corner of her eye. She glanced at Summer beside her, who was still talking, and hastily made an excuse, "I suddenly need to use the restroom. You go ahead and shop, sister-in-law. Let’s call each other later."
"Hey, why are you running? I’ll go with you. I’m not familiar with this place, and it’s quite big. I’m afraid I won’t find you later."
Seeing the figure on the second-floor corner getting closer, Tina grew anxious and somewhat rudely pulled away from Summer’s hand: "I’m not used to going with others. Alright, let’s just settle it like this. We both have phones; we’ll use them to contact each other if we can’t find each other later."
With that, Tina disappeared from view.
Left behind, Summer felt exasperated and wanted to turn and leave. If it weren’t for Tina insisting they’d meet later, she’d already be out getting a cab.
"Justin was right, Tina does have that spoiled princess attitude."
Summer looked around, sighed, and began to wander aimlessly.
This was an opportunity to see if the place felt familiar.
So Summer strolled around, waiting for Tina, who supposedly went to the restroom, to contact her.
She didn’t know that Tina’s trip to the restroom was just an excuse and that she actually spotted Maxim Sinclair and wanted to approach him.
Meanwhile, Assistant Collins had also spotted Tina and Summer and reported this matter promptly to Maxim Sinclair.
Upon hearing this, Maxim called a security guard of similar build and had him tail Tina from a distance while he circled back, following the bodyguard’s directions to locate the solitary Summer.
