Consequences of Dumping the Obsessive Boss: Stuck with Him Forever-Chapter 215: Summer Lowell Finally Returned to Maxim Sinclair’s Side
At this point, Mrs. Huxley finally spoke the truth: "I’m sorry, Miss Lowell, Tina lost her head tonight and did something wrong. We need your help to resolve it."
"Then before I go help resolve the issue, shouldn’t you at least tell me what she did first?"
Summer Lowell felt slightly annoyed, having a sense of being played.
Mrs. Huxley looked troubled and glanced at Mr. Huxley, who was sitting in the front passenger seat. After hesitating for a long time, she slowly began to tell Summer what Tina did at the bar.
After hearing it, Summer laughed, finding it absurd: "She lost her head and did such a thing, why should I be the one to resolve it? I have no relation to her, you’re being too domineering! I’m not an object to be traded around by you!"
Mr. Huxley in the front was displeased by this remark: "Miss Lowell, let’s be frank, we’re aware of your past with Maxim Sinclair. At the core, it’s all about unfinished business between you two."
Summer’s eyes flashed with sarcasm, and after a moment, she retorted without backing down: "What exactly happened between me and Maxim Sinclair? Justin only mentioned that Maxim Sinclair was intent on breaking up me and him, and said that if not for his protection, I would have been taken away by Maxim."
With that, Mr. Huxley remembered Summer was fooled into an engagement with Justin because she had amnesia.
Mrs. Huxley used this chance to smooth things over, secretly pinched Mr. Huxley, and discreetly warned him with her eyes to be careful with his words.
Mr. Huxley lightly coughed and changed the topic: "There’s not much more I can say, just follow through, you won’t be mistreated."
"What a joke, did you ever ask for my opinion? You came to my place and took me away, clearly showing my opinion doesn’t matter at all."
Summer chuckled coldly, moved to the other side of the car, and took out her phone to call Justin Huxley.
Seeing this, Mrs. Huxley reached over to grab her phone, looking at Summer with a pleading expression: "Miss Lowell, please help us, Tina is still young. She can’t be taken to the police station, or her future will be ruined."
Summer opened her hand, asking for her phone back: "I can’t handle this matter. Since she did such a thing today, she should face the consequences. She is an adult now, not a child."
Mrs. Huxley threw the phone to Mr. Huxley, and her eyes gradually turned cold: "Miss Lowell, sorry, but I must protect my daughter, so I’ll have to trouble you today. But don’t worry, Maxim Sinclair won’t do anything to you. He’s always had feelings for you. You won’t suffer being by his side."
Summer found her words absurdly laughable: "Would you dare say this in front of Justin Huxley?"
Mrs. Huxley tried to maintain her calm: "That child has always been fond of Tina. He would understand our dilemma. And Miss Lowell, once you’re by Maxim Sinclair’s side, find a way to protect yourself. Let’s get through this matter today, and Justin will find a way to get you out. Please bear with it for now."
"Since someone has to bear the grievance, why not let Tina bear it for a few days at the police station? With the Huxley Family’s influence, are you worried you can’t get her out? From what I heard in your words, Maxim wasn’t really hurt, so it’s an attempted injury at best. It wouldn’t have a major impact!"
"That can’t happen," Mrs. Huxley shook her head, refuting Summer’s words, "If Tina really gets into the police station today, what about her reputation? I must be responsible for her about this matter. Miss Lowell, you’re not some big shot, and maybe if you ask Maxim Sinclair, he might happily keep today’s matter quiet and not let others know."
At this point, Summer fully understood this couple was determined to send her away to save Tina.
She shook her head and laughed coldly: "After you’ve handled things so ruthlessly, will Justin Huxley still be so devoted to working for you?"
"Shut your mouth!" Mr. Huxley, not liking these words, turned his head and pointed at Summer, "I’ve already given you enough respect, Summer. You should weigh what you’re worth!"
Summer decided against pretending anymore and tore off the pretenses: "Anyway, I’m not someone who drugs men to get ahead in life. Just this makes few people surpass Tina Huxley. Mr. Huxley, you’ve taught your daughter well!"
"You’re going too far, how dare you say such things." Mrs. Huxley, infuriated, reached over wanting to slap Summer.
Summer reacted swiftly, grasping her wrist as a warning with hidden meaning: "Push me too far, and I might not cooperate with you! Remember, I’m the only one who can save your precious daughter now."
Mrs. Huxley, keeping Tina in her mind, reluctantly held back after hearing this: "Miss Lowell, you’d better not play tricks. Although Justin likes you a lot, he’s always adored Tina. If it really comes down to choosing between you and Tina, who knows who he’d choose."
"I know, I never hoped he’d choose me," Summer’s expression showing no sadness, "Both shut up, if any more unpleasant words are said to make me unhappy, I might just not go."
So, for the rest of the journey, Mr. and Mrs. Huxley, wary in their hearts, dared not say anything that might upset Summer more.
Until they reached the bar, where a waiting Tina Huxley and the others finally saw Summer.
Tina, looking at Summer being pushed in by Mrs. Huxley, felt relieved yet couldn’t help but show a resentful expression.
Who would have thought, after going around in circles, she’d return to Maxim Sinclair’s side.
Upon seeing Summer, Maxim Sinclair took the jacket next to him and placed it on Summer’s shoulders: "It’s quite cold in here with the air conditioning blasting. Why didn’t you bring a jacket?"
Summer wanted to brush the jacket off, but Maxim anticipated her intention, pulled her into his arms, and without looking back, started walking out.
Pausing deliberately as they passed Mr. Huxley, Maxim said: "Uncle Huxley, you’ve got a good eye. I never expected you’d let a wolf into your house."
Mr. Huxley didn’t like his tone: "What are you saying?"
"Nothing much, just thanking you for sending my love back to me while kindly reminding you, don’t trust those around you too much, or you might find yourself with nothing left."
With that, Maxim Sinclair left the room with Summer in tow.
Assistant Collins went up to the police to continue negotiations.
In the car, Summer turned to look at Maxim, who still held her close: "There’s no one else here, can you let go now?"
"I kind of don’t want to. Getting you back after losing you is hard to resist," Maxim said, lifting her onto his lap with a soft sigh of relief, "I’ve dreamed of this day so many times, and it’s great that you’re finally back with me, it’s truly wonderful."
