Contract Marriage: Let's Make It Real, Mrs. Sterling!-Chapter 315 - 314: We Can Be Like Other Married Couples Too
Mia Sutton stayed in the bathroom for a long time, and finally sighed helplessly, walking out with rather heavy steps.
As soon as she stepped out, she saw Jensen Sterling sitting beside the dining table, his long legs crossed, eyes lowered as he looked at his phone. Hearing the movement, his gaze shifted from the phone to Mia Sutton, his eyes a light shade.
"Not coming over?"
Though Mia Sutton secretly reproached herself, she also knew that what had happened couldn’t be changed.
Getting drunk is harmful.
Then she dragged her feet over slowly, sitting opposite Jensen Sterling, her head lowered like a quail, lightly biting her lip. Realizing her action, she instantly stiffened, quickly releasing her lips.
Next, a glass of milk appeared in front of her: "Drink some," the man’s voice sounded faintly.
Mia Sutton: "Oh..." She then picked up the milk and drank it slowly, leaving a faint ring of milk around her lips.
Jensen Sterling sat across from her, not eating, just watching the girl opposite casually.
As Mia Sutton was about to finish the milk, he pushed a bowl of porridge over.
Mia Sutton raised her eyes, looked at him steadily for a moment, then obediently took the porridge, saying softly, "Thank you, Mr. Sterling."
The tone was quite weak, probably because she felt guilty.
She scooped up the porridge and took a sip; it was cooked very thick, with ingredients beneficial to the stomach.
Mia Sutton liked cooking herself, so she naturally knew that the best breakfast after getting drunk was milk and porridge to heal the stomach.
As she drank, a sense of guilt crept up.
Clearly, she was the one who kissed him, yet Mr. Sterling had prepared these things for her.
Mia Sutton carefully lifted her eyes, glanced at the person in front of her, her gaze involuntarily falling on his broken lips. Barely had she looked when she was caught; Jensen Sterling sat opposite, lightly watching her.
Mia Sutton: "..." She was silent for two seconds, then said, "Uh, Mr. Sterling, I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to bite your lip." Speaking, her eyes wandered, afraid to look at Jensen Sterling.
After speaking, realizing what she had just said, she hurriedly corrected, "I meant... I shouldn’t have kissed you." Saying it, Mia suddenly found it not so hard to voice.
"I just drank a bit, and my mind was unclear." Even now, it was somewhat blurry, as if a thought was about to emerge.
Jensen Sterling understood her words, and after a long pause, chuckled quietly.
"Shouldn’t have kissed me?"
Surprised by his question, Mia Sutton was momentarily speechless as his fingertips lightly tapped the table, the sound small but landing in her ears like knocks on her heart.
"Then who would you want to kiss?"
Mia Sutton: "...!" Her eyes suddenly widened, not expecting Jensen Sterling to ask this: "No, I didn’t want to kiss anyone."
Jensen Sterling leaned back in his chair, and Mia Sutton then heard a voice coming through, carrying a hint of helplessness, very faint, but to Mia it sounded magnified.
"Mia, we are a couple, isn’t such behavior normal?"
Mia Sutton sat there, forgetting the porridge in her hand, her mind filled with Jensen Sterling’s statement that they were a couple.
Just a kiss—for a couple, the most natural thing, like drinking water every day.
But the issue is, they are unlike other couples.
Mia Sutton’s eyelids slightly lowered, her long lashes fluttering, obscuring the emotions in her eyes. This wasn’t the first time Jensen Sterling had said this.
Mia Sutton opened her mouth, not knowing what to say; after a moment, with a stiff voice she said, "But we’re not like them."
Jensen Sterling: "We can be."
Mia Sutton lifted her head, looking at the person opposite, her mind blank, opening her mouth without making a sound.
Just then, as Jensen Sterling was about to continue, his phone on the side rang.
The man’s look turned cold instantly, if there were swords in his gaze, that phone would probably be full of holes by now.
Reaching for the phone, his voice carried a chill: "Speak."
Cameron Grant shivered at the sound, feeling as if Jensen was going to kill him.
An illusion, definitely an illusion.
"Jensen, here’s the thing. Since ’God and Demon Technique’ has wrapped up now, the platform is preparing a live stream. Plus, the roles you and Miss Sutton played in the show were loved by the audience, so they called asking if you wanted to join."
Jensen Sterling grasped the phone, lazily leaning against the chair back, and asked, "When."
Cameron Grant: "The day after tomorrow."
Honestly, this timing is a bit tight; they should have contacted earlier, but they thought Jensen wouldn’t go, so didn’t plan to contact. Finally, the director scolded them terribly, hence the call asking.
"Alright, got it."
Cameron Grant: "So, Jensen, we’re set to go, what about Miss Sutton, what’s her take?"
Jensen Sterling glanced at the person opposite, Mia Sutton holding a spoon, her doe-like eyes occasionally glancing at him.
Jensen Sterling: "She’s here, you talk to her." After speaking, he handed the phone to Mia Sutton, saying, "It’s Cameron."
Mia Sutton oh-ed, then put down the spoon, taking the phone: "Hello."
Jensen Sterling sat nearby, watched as Mia took the call, occasionally responding with an okay, saying she understood, she could go.
Finally, hanging up the call, Mia handed the phone back to Jensen Sterling, then asked: "So, Mr. Sterling, are we going back today?"
Just-ended topics were skirted around this way, Mia Sutton did not bring them up again, and Jensen Sterling’s deep, profound eyes lightly looked at her, then replied, "Yes."
Mia Sutton immediately stood up: "Then I’ll start packing now."
Saying it, she immediately hurried off.
Watching Mia’s figure, Jensen Sterling sighed and let her be.
Originally planned travel arrangements were canceled due to this matter, actually since morning when she knew she kissed Jensen Sterling she understood, this travel plan was done.
Mia Sutton and Jensen Sterling quickly packed their things, actually mostly Mia’s, Jensen Sterling practically came empty-handed.
The tickets were booked by Cameron Grant, and the two flew back quickly, discussed a rough plan with the platform briefly, then headed home.
To be exact, Jensen Sterling went home alone, while Mia... slipped away, went back to the Sutton Family.
She needed some quiet time, to sort through things properly.
