Contract Marriage: Let's Make It Real, Mrs. Sterling!-Chapter 355 - 354: The Scheming Mr. Xi
After internally complaining about Jensen Sterling, Mia Sutton sat on the bed to calm her emotions a little, then reached out, lifted the light veil, and got out of bed.
Seizing the moment when no one noticed her, she quietly snuck behind Director Lawson and stood there, looking earnestly at the monitor in front of her.
As soon as Director Lawson turned his head, he saw her and was a bit surprised: "When did you get here?"
Mia, who had only been standing there for a couple of minutes, replied smoothly without a second thought, "Quite a while ago."
Ian Lee, hearing her say that, didn’t think much of it, and said, "Mia, come have a look, what do you think?"
Saying that, he made room and let Mia move forward a bit to see what they had just shot. Mia murmured an "Oh" and then bent forward to take a look.
When shooting earlier, it was already... Now watching the playback, it felt even more ambiguous.
At first, it was quite desolate, but from the moment Jensen held her wrist, there was a tinge of romance, and the footage was quite beautiful. It didn’t feel vulgar at all; on the contrary, it was moving yet restrained.
This restrained desire often moves people more.
After watching, Mia herself felt a bit flushed and her heart racing.
Glancing up at Jensen, she found the man looking down at her with a smile in his eyes.
Mia: "..." She unconsciously licked her lips and quickly averted her gaze.
She didn’t see it, but when she looked away, the smile in Jensen’s eyes deepened.
This segment made Ian Lee very satisfied. He waved his hand and let them rest for a while.
He even praised Mia’s kissing scene to others, saying she managed to do it in one take without any NGs, which was quite impressive considering it was her first time.
Those around echoed, saying, "Yes, very impressive."
Ian Lee seemed to remember something and turned back with a smile, saying, "Jensen Sterling, I almost forgot, your kissing scene was quite good too. I don’t know why you refused to do them before. If you get a good script in the future, don’t turn it down."
When he said this, everyone remembered this was also Jensen’s first on-screen kiss scene. Of course, the forehead kiss in his previous cameo didn’t count.
Due to his long career and his natural performance, people forgot this was his first serious kiss scene.
Everyone had one thought in mind: a grand slam Best Actor’s first on-screen kiss was with Mia Sutton, someone who hadn’t been acting for long.
This would be a topic of discussion again in due time.
Despite the age difference between the two, on screen, they appeared to be a perfect match.
Ian gave them a break, though it wasn’t an actual break. They discussed the next scene as they rested.
Calling Mia and Jensen to the front, he explained the next scene.
"There’s not much left of this scene, and it’s not difficult."
"You two are already on the bed, and there’s no need to shoot it explicitly. We’ll film it from the outside, and just a vague shadow will suffice." He explained to them while holding the script.
After that, he told a staff member, "You’ll use the fan to lightly blow the veil when the time comes, understood?"
Ian went over the finer details with them one by one, explaining them meticulously, including which angle to start shooting from and when to switch angles, covering all aspects.
"Alright, let’s continue shooting. Once we finish this part, we can call it a day."
...
The equipment was all set up. Looking at the bed, Mia felt a slight sense of helplessness, but the scene needed to be shot.
The two of them got on the bed. Jensen had changed out of his military uniform and was now in his underclothes, with the collar somewhat loose.
Just as described in the script.
The script described how Seth Quinn had suppressed his feelings for a long time, ultimately allowing his emotions to prevail, losing the composure expected of a general. His clothes became disheveled, and the light veil by the bed obscured most of the view, with only vague shadows visible.
Rosalind’s breathing started to falter, and her voice trembled: "Aren’t you afraid I’m a spy, the kind that might take your life?"
There was a momentary silence in the room, then Seth’s calm voice responded: "Are you?"
After a long pause, a faint voice replied: "No."
Then the veil fluttered, and the wooden bed creaked.
...
Even though she knew the scene well, Mia felt a shiver run through her heart as she lay down on the bed.
The space was limited, filled entirely with Jensen’s scent, a man who had an oppressive presence.
Jensen looked at the slight tremor in the young girl’s eyelashes, chuckled softly, and leaned down to whisper in her ear, "Nervous?"
Already tense, Mia had her eyes closed to calm down, yet this person disturbed her.
She immediately opened her eyes, glancing at him, not knowing that her gaze lacked any real intimidation and even seemed soft and tender.
Jensen reached out and gently patted her back to soothe her: "Don’t worry, don’t be nervous. This scene is not a hard one."
Mia bit her lip, her voice very soft, like the buzzing of a mosquito. If one didn’t deliberately listen, they wouldn’t hear it.
"I know it’s not hard, just as long as you don’t pull any pranks."
Her voice was soft, but Jensen, being so close, naturally heard it, and a smile crossed his eyes, "Mm, won’t tease you."
Indeed, he couldn’t tease the young girl anymore; otherwise, if she exploded, it wouldn’t be good, and he’d be the one to suffer in the end.
Limits still needed to be set.
Mia looked at him, slowly blinking. Could she trust those words?
Seeing the apparent disbelief in the young girl’s eyes, Jensen chuckled inwardly.
As it turned out, his words could be trusted. Jensen, true to his word, didn’t tease Mia, and even guided her when she struggled. The scene was completed very quickly.
Later, Mia felt a little embarrassed for misunderstanding Mr. Sterling, especially when someone playfully accused her of the fact. She felt even more guilty, thinking how she could accuse Mr. Sterling like that.
In the end, she even got a kiss stolen by someone, known as "compensation."
What Mia didn’t know was that Jensen didn’t act out because the setting was inappropriate. If he had teased her then, he would be the one uncomfortable.
Thus, he refrained from teasing her.
It must be said, our Mr. Sterling had quite a strategic mind.
This scene finished quickly, and Ian Lee kept his word, waving his hand and wrapping up for the day, mainly because the shooting pace was fast.
