Contract Marriage: Love Has Finally Arrived-Chapter 545 - 546: Nangong Mingchuan’s Concerns
Chapter 545: Chapter 546: Nangong Mingchuan’s Concerns
At that moment outside the consultation room, another figure dressed in a nurse’s uniform was standing there.
Upon hearing the doctor’s words "You did indeed give birth to a child once", the hand hanging by her side clenched tightly; hiding beneath the mask, only a pair of sinister eyes could be seen growing increasingly ferocious and malevolent.
After a long while, Tang Yuyan took the paper and turned to leave the gynecology consultation room.
Just a moment before she emerged, the figure hiding outside the door also vanished without a trace.
...
The night deepened.
She walked out of the gynecology building, her melancholic silhouette appearing particularly desolate and pitiful under the night sky.
Her mind was filled with that disturbing dream, which, it turned out, was not a dream at all.
She tried to remember something, but in the end, she couldn’t recall anything; the more she deliberately tried to think, the more intense her headache became.
Alone, she sat down under a pavilion at the hospital, her mind a jumbled mess.
Qiangwei was her daughter, but would she hate her? Would she hate her for abandoning her, for not wanting her...
In her mind suddenly echoed her son’s words, "Sister Qiangwei is very pitiable; her mother doesn’t want her..."
Upon this thought, Tang Yuyan felt a pain in her chest so intolerable she nearly collapsed. Clutching her chest, she only barely managed to avoid falling by supporting herself on a stone chair with one hand.
Twelve years had passed since she abandoned Qiangwei, without inquiry or contact. Would she ever forgive her, would she ever call her ’mother’ again...
In the silent night, there was nobody in the garden, only the faint sound of sobbing could be heard.
It was an indeterminate amount of time before Tang Yuyan, who had lost track of the hours, stood up listlessly, the tears on her cheeks dried by the cold wind, and walked towards her son’s hospital ward building.
By late night, the entire hospital had become very quiet.
Running on the last bit of willpower, Tang Yuyan entered the foyer and walked to the elevator.
She pressed the button, but the elevator didn’t come.
Looking up, she noticed a sign on the elevator door that read "under maintenance."
She turned to look at another elevator which could only go up to the second floor.
She went over, pressed the button, and the doors opened swiftly. She stepped inside.
When she reached the second floor, she stepped out of the elevator and took the stairwell towards the third floor.
Meanwhile, inside the ward, Nangong Mingchuan was also watching the time tick by every second.
"Dad, has Yuyan really left?"
In the dead of night, Nangong He received a call from his son.
"Yes, she left around eight-thirty. What’s the problem? Hasn’t she arrived at the hospital?"
Now, Nangong He too began to feel worried.
"No."
The more he thought about it, the more uneasy Nangong Mingchuan’s heart became.
He hung up the phone, glanced at his son who was sound asleep, and unable to contain himself any longer, he got up and rushed out of the ward, making phone calls to locate Tang Yuyan’s whereabouts.
Arriving at the elevator, he pressed the button only to find that the elevator power was completely off. He furrowed his brow in confusion, as usually, a maintenance sign is posted if an elevator is out of order.
But in the end, he didn’t give it much thought, assuming it was a hospital oversight, and pressed the button for the other elevator stopped at the second floor.
However, after a long wait, that elevator did not come either. Maybe it was the urgency in his heart, not able to wait another minute, he decided not to wait any longer and turned around, dashing toward the direction of the stairwell!
At this moment, Tang Yuyan, who had just stepped out of the elevator, walked towards the stairwell, her spirit in disarray.
