Contracted To You-Chapter 70: Let’s be one
"Hmm, Ezra?" She asked, her voice dripping with seduction as her fingers traced his jawline.
"Evie, stop," Ezra replied, his tone firm.
She paused, her eyebrows knitting together.
He didn’t intend to reject her, but he had to assert himself. "You’re tempting me to do something reckless," he muttered under his breath, making it clear he was not indifferent to her touch, like she was thinking.
It was difficult to maintain control, especially with his desire evident in his joggers.
A smirk curled on her lips, igniting something deep within him. "What if I want to tempt you?" she asked, her hands now resting against the side of his face.
"I’m trying to keep my composure, Evie. Please don’t make this harder for me," he said, his voice a blend of restraint and urgency.
But Evie was relentless. "Kiss me, Ezra," she commanded, her eyes locking onto his, demanding his full attention.
"I want you to kiss me" she said again.
"Fuck," he thought, his gaze slipping to her seductive red lips.
He had craved them for too long, but she had only been playing, slipping away from him whenever he tried to kiss her, and now that she was inviting him in, he couldn’t ignore the opportunity.
In a swift movement, he captured her lips in a fierce kiss. His tongue played with her bottom lip while she responded, quivering under the intensity as their mouths intertwined.
She wrapped her arms around his neck as he stood up and positioned himself above her, her hands roaming from his neck to his chest while her legs parted beneath him.
As their lips met fiercely, breath coming in heated bursts, Ezra’s body moved responsively, his arousal pressing against her, igniting an intense fire throughout her body.
Heat surged through her, flushing her cheeks as she pulled him closer, her nails digging into the fabric of his shirt with urgency.
The kiss was scorching—sweeping away the air in her lungs, leaving her utterly breathless. She craved more of him and wanted him inside her, now.
Ezra’s hands gripped her waist, drawing her nearer, both of them keenly aware of their desires. He was battling his own impulses, holding back the urge to tear away her clothing and claim her completely in that moment.
It was Evie’s fault for stirring him up like this, and he felt the weight of his restraint as he fought against the overwhelming need to enter her.
"Ezra," she moaned, her voice thick with longing, while he kissed her deeply, his tongue dancing passionately within her mouth, savoring every inch.
He kissed her as if he were starved for her, which was true; Evie hadn’t kissed him until now.
His hunger was relentless, leaving her lips swollen and gasping for more.
"Ezra," Evie moaned again, her fingers digging into his body, pulling him closer.
The pain coursing through her could only be relieved by his entering her.
She needed him intensely, feeling the heat radiate between them as their legs tangled under the sheets.
Breaking the kiss, she opened her eyes to see Ezra above her, breathing heavily, his gaze filled with raw desire.
Evie swallowed hard.
"Yes, Red?" he replied, his voice gentle. She took a moment to gather her thoughts before her hands found his face.
"Let’s be one, Ezra," she whispered, locking eyes with him.
They hadn’t gone this far before, and she couldn’t help but wonder why he hesitated.
Was he truly considering her feelings?
Evie was keenly aware of his hands resting on her waist, wishing he would explore further. She craved his touch, wanting him to feel every part of her and to moan his name until her voice no longer worked.
That was all Evie wanted, and she couldn’t help but wonder if Ezra felt the same. She was at a loss as to why he wasn’t taking things further.
He stared at her, as they gaze into each other’s eyes, before, "No," he said firmly, causing the atmosphere between them to shift dramatically.
Ezra pulled back, leaving Evie staring at him, confusion etched on her face.
As she sat on the bed, she felt a surge of disappointment wash over her. His response was like a punch to the gut, she felt her heart drop down to her stomach.
There was a tense silence between them, unbearable for Evie after being rejected.
She looked at him, not believing what had just happened.
She felt the moisture in her eyes threatening to spill, but she held her ground, refusing to let a single tear fall.
It was clear now: he didn’t want her the way she had hoped. All of it had been in her head.
Ezra had claimed he wanted her, so why was he hesitating? She had believed he was hesitant because of her, only to face rejection. She swallowed hard.
"I need some air," Evie declared, the suffocating atmosphere in the room pushing her towards the door. Her stride seemed angry, purposeful as she moved away from him.
"Evie," he called, but she didn’t stop.
"Wait, Evie!" he insisted, but she ignored him. It was clear she was annoyed and didn’t want to hear what he had to say. Ezra knew he had to intervene before this spiraled out of control.
Just as she reached the door and gripped the handle, Ezra placed his hand firmly on it, stopping her from leaving.
"What do you want?" she snapped, her voice cold. "I asked for air, but you won’t let me go?"
Ezra took a deep breath. "Face me, Evie," he said, maintaining his composure as she stood with her back facing him. 𝑓𝓇𝘦ℯ𝘸𝘦𝑏𝓃𝑜𝘷ℯ𝑙.𝑐𝑜𝓂
"Open the door," she replied.
"Just turn around," he urged, gently pulling her to face him. She was stubborn, turning her head defiantly away from him.
"Why are you angry?" he asked softly.
She shot him a glare.
Despite her attempt to appear unaffected by his rejection, her eyes betrayed her annoyance at his question.
"What do you mean, why am I angry? You just rejected me," Evie said, frustration evident in her voice as her gaze locked onto his.
"I didn’t reject you," Ezra replied calmly. He knew they couldn’t both be angry at the same time.
Evie scoffed. "What did that ’No’ mean? It means you don’t want me, you don’t want anything to do with me. If that’s not rejection, then I don’t know what is."
Ezra maintained eye contact, his expression steady. "That’s not it at all."
"Then you owe me some explanations right now. I laid everything bare before you, believing you felt the same, but clearly, you don’t want me or care about me." Said Evie.
"That’s not true," Ezra retorted, his voice rising a pitch before he brought it back down. "It’s not true, Evie. I want you, and you know."
"Liar," Evie thought, the anger coursing through her veins.
He had clearly rejected her moments ago, and now he was twisting it to spare her feelings? Too bad she was already aware that he didn’t want her, and she had no intention of talking to him ever again.
The sting of rejection played on repeat in her mind, fueling her anger and disappointment, pushing her to the brink of tears.
Ezra placed his hand on her cheek, and she turned to meet his gaze, her brows furrowed in disbelief. How could he still touch her after what he had just done? She frowned at him, her resolve hardening.
"I want you, Evie. I want you more than you can imagine, but I need to do this right with you," he said softly.
"You have no idea how much I long to kiss you, to explore every part of your body—your lips, your neck, your breasts, your belly, your thighs, and everything in between your legs. I want to leave every part burning with desire for my tongue sucking them," he whispered.
The anger within her began to dissipate, replaced by a flush in her cheeks and parted lips.
What was he saying? His words sparked something within her even before he touched her.
"But with you, I want to approach this differently... I want us to be married before taking that big step. This isn’t just about having sex; it’s about our souls intertwining. As our souls merge, I want to call you mine—completely and utterly," he explained.
In that moment, Evie’s earlier upset vanished.
Why had she been upset at all?
She swallowed hard, realizing that his rejection had stemmed from his desire for commitment, not a lack of attraction.
This man.
If only he had made his intentions clear from the beginning—his wish to marry her first before making love. Then she wouldn’t have been angry.
