Cosmic Paragon-Chapter 100 - 94: New Path
Chapter 100: Chapter 94: New Path
As Drake did his morning run, his mind drifted off back to the events of last night.
After Logan had stopped the fight, he had given all of them a proper chewing out. Drake especially had been scolded until his whole face was covered in spit.
Logan had been particularly mad at Drake for using such a powerful skill.
That last punch of Drake and 7 Day Wolff had been blocked by Logan, and if it weren’t for him arriving in the nick of time, the result of those attacks would have caused them extremely heavy injuries, if not that then instant death for one or the both of them.
Drake felt a chill run up his spine when he had heard that.
Drake had not been fully conscious of his surroundings at the time, but he had remembered the blurred figure of Logan who had moved at a speed so fast it could be compared to teleportation, landing in between himself and the giant 7 Day Wolff.
Logan had then extended both palms to his sides taking both attacks with his bare hands and tanking the impact with his powerful body. At the same time he had used his magic power to forcefully cancel the 7 Day Wolff transformation.
As for Drake, the little bit of rebounding force that Logan had been unable to completely nullify was what had sent Drake flying. Luckily, it had ended at that.
Or at least that is what Drake had thought.
It was only until later after he had returned to his Dorm room that the adrenalin rush from that fight had worn off.
Drake immediately felt a piercing pain assault every single inch of his body; it was a pain that was almost comparable to that first pain he had experienced when the barrier sealing his magic power had cracked.
When Drake checked it with the ’Eyes of Order’ he was frightened by what he had seen.
His entire skeleton with not a single inch spared had been covered in cracks and even his internal organs looked like they were on the verge of collapse.
Drake quickly mobilized all his efforts into activating his ’Healing power’.
Unfortunately, these injuries were not so easily healed.
Drake had discovered that, every organ and every crack in his skeleton was covered in a special energy that stuck to them, making their recovery process harder and also more painful.
Drake soon identified this energy as the special force that he had used in that ’Earth Pulse’ attack.
Actually, if it wasn’t for that special energy lingering in his wounds Drake’s whole body might have already collapsed a long time ago. But luckily, this special energy had the force of gravity that was literally holding Drake together.
It had taken Drake nearly three full hours of effort before he could eliminate all that energy. The seals special power of attraction on any and all forms of magic power had also played a major role in assisting in his recovery. After that it had taken another extra hour of work to completely repair his Skeleton and internal organs.
Drake’s mind couldn’t help but turn back to that special force as he ran.
When Drake tried thinking of what it was. A set of words appeared in his mind.
’A force of nature, the power of the Earth!’
That is all Drake could call it.
Whenever Drake recalled that power, he got the premonition that he had come into contact with a power he should not have. Especially not at his current level.
"It might be a power I should not have, but it’s mine now that it has fallen into my hands. I will master it."
Drake had a fire burning in his eyes as he said this.
Drake soon arrived at a bridge that he always went over during his runs and sat at the bench on it to rest. He turned on the ’Eyes of Order’ and checked his stats.

Drake smiled when he saw his battle power had risen by a whole two hundred in such a short time. This was the result of the fight with the Wolff Brothers as well as that painful healing process.
During both ordeals, Drake’s body had been put through a grinder, and his body had been forced to it’s limits causing it to absorb more magic power. Therefore, raising his battle power and cultivation.
He then turned his attention to his seal and as expected, he had better control over the energy of his stars. Even his control over the magic power from the Libra constellation was more flexible.
Drake muttered in satisfaction. "This means I don’t need to waste time training to control the energy of the constellations. From now on I will simply form as many constellations as I can without a care. Then I will just need to get into fights more frequently and I can raise control mastery alongside my cultivation."
There’s also the preliminaries for the Grand mage tournament that would be starting soon at the beginning of next month. Drake would have plenty of opponents to help him then.
Drake deactivated the ’Eyes of Order’ and looked around at the surrounding scenery. Alpha academy had magnificent views if anything all over the academy grounds.
From where Drake was seated he had a clear view of the beautiful sunrise and its reflection in the river that flowed from the distance under the bridge and to his back.
Drake was enjoying the nice view when he caught sight of a plainly dressed young man practicing with his sword beside the river.
It was quite the view. Drake himself was a sword user and while he could tell that the plainly dressed young man was no master, as Drake could point out a few openings in his swordplay, it was something even Drake had to appreciate.
Every move he made was slow and refined, but also sharp and decisive. It was evident that he had trained with the sword for a long time.
The young man suddenly stopped after a few seconds and turned to Drake.
"It’s not very nice to stare you know." he said directing a smile at Drake.
Drake scratched his head a little embarrassed that he was caught. "Sorry about that, I was just admiring your form. You look like you’ve put in a lot of practice."
"Thank you, I’m more of a Spearman, but I have been putting a lot of effort into practicing with the sword." The young man nodded gently then added, "But you really shouldn’t stare so intensely next time or somebody else might get the wrong idea if they saw a full grown man staring at another man so closely."
"Woah, easy there big brother. Don’t get the wrong idea here, I’m straight!" Drake immediately raised both hands cringing on how wrong idea was. He almost retched at the thought.
The plainly dressed young man laughed at Drake’s reaction.
He picked up the second practice sword lying on the ground and threw it up at Drake. "Come practice with me, it’ll be good for you."
Drake caught the sword and jumped down from the bridge accepting the invitation. "Don’t mind if I do."
He had to admit that he too was feeling a bit of an itch after watching someone else practice.
The plainly dressed young man smiled gently when he saw Drake’s eagerness. He thought Drake looked like a child who had just got his favorite toy.
Drake stood ten meters from the young man and brandished the sword feeling it’s weight and balance.
When he saw how much expertise Drake had when wielding the sword, the plainly dressed young man was a bit surprised.
"You train in the way of the sword?" he asked.
Drake shook his head and said, "I wouldn’t really call it the way of the sword as I don’t think I’m anywhere near good enough to be called someone following the way of the sword. I just train with every weapon with no particular favorites. So I guess I could say I know a little about swords."
The young man nodded and raised his own sword. Each of his moves and casual gestures were stable yet graceful.
They stood in silence for a second. The young man’s expression was stern as he stared at Drake.
Drake didn’t take up any special sword stance. As a matter of fact he stood there quite casually. But while he looked like that, he gave off the impression of being boundless like the starry sky.
Adam felt like he was up against a sword that stood above the world amongst the stars. He could not find any openings in that casual stance.
’Well, if there are no openings I will have to create one myself.’ Adam thought and took a step forward piercing at Drake’s chest with his sword.
Drake brandished his sword and the tip touched against the flat side of the blade deflecting the sword to the side.
Adam drew his sword back then attacked again.
The both of them practiced with the sword. It was nothing major just the basic skills of the sword. Slash, pierce, parry, chop, tap and so on.
This continued for a minute until Adam found his sword flying out of his hand and falling into Drake’s. With Drake’s sword pointed at his throat.
Adam chuckled softly. "You were being modest when you said you were no sword expert, I should have known you really are no sword expert you’re a sword master. Now I’ve made you laugh at me."
Drake stopped him, "I have never laughed at you, nor will I, trust me. Just because I’m a bit better than you with a sword doesn’t mean anything. You might not be able to beat me in the sword right now, but that may not necessarily be the case in the future? Not to mention there are probably other things you are better than me at." Drake said solemnly. "I believe there is always something to learn, so no, I am no sword expert."
Adam nodded and said, "Your mental state is really very broad."
