Chapter 96: Chapter 96: Professor Glory

"Greetings students, we’ll be continuing from where we left off yesterday regarding the Fire Tornado Spell. Spells cast without chanting are extremely weak, especially..."

"That’s not true." said someone in the crowd of students. Currently, this professor was having a lecture on a High Tier 1 Flame Spell and many students enjoyed his lectures and the teacher was well respected by the students.

"Who said that?" asked the professor.

"Justin Glory." answered the class.

"Young Justin, you’ve never given me trouble ever since you joined my class and you always listen attentively and take notes, you’re very smart and spend most of your time in the library, surely you’ve read many books that touch upon the topic of Chants."

"You’re right Professor, I often spend time at the library and have read many books. Initially, I had thought that spells without chants were weak but recently, my thoughts have changed. If the caster is weak then the spells will be weak and if the caster is strong then the spells will be strong. It’s that simple, Professor, please don’t misinform the students." Justin replied.

"Misinform the students? Hahaha, very funny. Young Justin, you can eat whatever you want but you can’t whatever you want. If you want to cause trouble then you may leave the premises, no one is stopping you."

"How about a demonstration Professor? I demonstrate my point of view and you also demonstrate your point of view and let everyone know the truth."

"Sure. Everyone, let’s go to the practice field and demonstrate, practicality is also part of learning."

"Yes Professor."

...

"What kind of spell do you propose we choose for our demonstration? I’m ready for anything?" asked Justin.

"There’s no need to complicate things, we’ll just go with the basic Fireball Spell, what do you say?" answered the professor.

"Sure, let’s do it."

"Marcus, you shall be representing me in this demonstration."

"Yes Professor."

...

The Professor’s class was currently in the practice field where wooden scarecrows were placed a hundred meters from the students. The practice field was surrounded by many tall buildings including the Dean’s office which was at the last floor of the tallest tower.

"Mhm, there’s a class at the practice field, how rare. Who’s the lecturer for this class, oh, Professor Rioss. Let’s see what exactly he’s teaching the students." said the Dean while looking down from his office.

Justin and Marcus stood from far from each other and stood opposite their wooden scarecrows.

"Begin!" shouted Professor Rioss.

"O Great Flame Spirits, bless me with the power to..." Marcus started chanting with his hand forward.

[Fireball!]

Justin didn’t even waste a second and just raised his hand forward, a fireball condensed and hit the target, that simple. Marcus was so shocked that he stopped chanting mid way while the class and the professor couldn’t believe what they were seeing. A standard fireball for students like them was the size of a chicken egg but Justin’s was ostrich egg sized without chanting.

Justin’s fireball completely destroyed the wooden scarecrow, not leaving even the ashes of the wooden scarecrow.

Marcus returned to his senses and finished his chant.

[Give me the strength to burn my enemies, Fireball!]

A chicken egg sized fireball struck the wooden scarecrow and only burned a part of it, not completely burned it.

"How did you do that?" asked Professor Rioss and the students also looked at him with inquisitive eyes.

"Simple, I activated the spell from within my heart and as it moved from the heart to my palm, my Mana increased its size and when it was outside my body, it naturally ignited, pulling more Mana in the air to strengthen itself. Even as it flew towards the target, it never stopped gathering Mana from the air until it exploded on the target." explain Justin in a calm manner.

The students didn’t understand anything Justin said and Professor Rioss only understood a little bit of it but someone else understood exactly what Justin was saying and he appeared in thin air.

"Little fellow, you mean like this?" the middle aged man did as Justin explained and an ostrich egg sized fireball condensed and destroyed the target.

"Exactly like that."

"Interesting, very interesting. I have a spell here that I want to show you, go and practice it and we’ll discuss it tomorrow." said the middle aged man and gave Justin a page with magic circles.

"No need to discuss it tomorrow, I already understand it." said Justin after just getting a glimpse of it without even taking the paper.

"What?"

"Let me show you."

[High Tier 1 Flame Spell: Fire Rain!]

About twenty small magic circles appeared in the sky and flame arrows condensed from those magic circles and fell on the ground, leaving one meter craters on the ground.

"This... This... Impressive! Very impressive! How did you do it and how is your casting speed so fast?" asked the middle aged man.

"As long as you know how to multitask, you can activate this spell with relative ease using the method I’ve shown you. As for my casting speed, it’s probably because of the Fire Runes engraved on my heart." answered Justin truthfully.

The middle age man’s eyes widened in shock Professor Rioss’s too and the two were about to attack him and quickly apprehend him.

"I know what you’re thinking, he’s probably a spy for the Dark Mages or he’s been possessed by the Dark Mages. That’s not true though, you see, the Source of Life comes not from sunlight in the sky but from the star that transcended itself. As long as a passion burns in your heart, even the darkest thoughts cannot extinguish that flicker of light." said Justin as a small sphere floated in his palm, greatly resembling the sun.

’The Truth Of Fire! He actually understands the Truth Of Fire! What a terrifying young man!’ thought the two men.

"I’d like to invite you to my office to discuss more on the topic of Fire Magic."

"Sure, lead the way." said Justin then the middle aged man disappeared with Justin.

"Professor Rioss, what just happened? Who was that man and where has he taken Justin?" asked the students.

"Hahaha, I’m afraid you’re not qualified to know. Justin is not someone you can casually talk about. When you see him, ask him for a pointer or two and your strength might soar." said Professor Rioss as he looked at the sky in melancholy.

...

"Who are you and why have you come to my school? Is it to cause trouble for me or for the school?"

"I am... Justin Glory, a student of the Magic Academy since last year and I haven’t come here to cause trouble, I came to learn obviously but after awakening my talent, I want more. Not for free of course."

"You want something? What exactly is it that you want? And what are you willing to give up in return?" said the middle aged man.

"You’re not qualified to know, get your superiors."

"Hahaha, there’s no one in the academy with more authority than me." said the middle aged man and his appearance returned to normal.

"I greet the Dean."

"Just tell me your demands!"

"I want an environment best suited for someone of my calibre,"said Justin.

"You mean?"

"Yes, I want the Volcanic Zone all to myself. And I want full access to the library. In exchange, I can produce a hundred Five Star Mages by the end of the year. What do you say?"

"Can you really do it? Produce a hundred Five Star Mages within a year? Let’s draft the contract before we continue our conversation." said the Dean and quickly took out a scroll from his drawer, filled it in with the content of their agreement and both parties happily signed it. Once signed, the scroll burned to ashes that disappeared into their bodies.

"Nice having you on the team Justin."

"I’m glad to be on the team. So, when do I start?"

"You want to start right now?"

"Why not."

...

"Ehem, ladies and gentlemen, I have an announcement to make. Professor Rory will no longer be your teacher, instead, a new professor will take her place and be your new teacher. Please welcome, Professor Glory." said the assistant lecturer.

"Professor Glory? Who is he or she?"

"I’ve never heard of him before."

"This is a special class, hopefully he or she won’t hold us back. The other special classes are way ahead of us in the syllabus."

"Thank you for introducing me, you can go on and continue with your business," said Justin.

"Thank you professor." said the assistant lecturer before leaving in s hurry.

"Wait a minute, isn’t this Justin from class H?"

"Oh yeah, I went to the same primary school with him."

The students whispered to each other and Justin only responded with a wide grin.

"Quiet everyone. My name is Justin Glory, Professor Glory to you all and I’ll be your new teacher. I hope we can get along and discover great things together."
