Chapter 144: Queen of Krivos [End]

Akamir thought before he fully turned towards...him.

The terrified prince frozen in place.

Akamir smiled genuinely. "Lucien."

Lucien stumbled back a step falling down the thorne, his face pale and drenched in sweat.

"You... you’re a monster," he whispered.

Akamir tilted his head slightly, the blood-soaked spear still in hand.

"You’re not wrong," he said, calm as ever. "But I warned you, didn’t I?"

Lucien reached for the sword at his side but fumbled with the hilt.

His fingers trembled so badly, he couldn’t even draw it.

Akamir walked toward him, slow and steady, each step echoing in the now-silent throne room.

"You know," Akamir said, tapping the end of the spear lightly on the floor, "I never had any interest in you."

Lucien finally drew his sword, pointing it forward, though his arms were shaking. "D-Don’t come any closer!"

Akamir ignored him completely.

"Had you not been an asshole, I might help let you live." He said, walking closer. "I mean, I am generous enough to do sapre a worthless prince."

"Why are you lying?" Nayomi asked, amusement clear in her voice. "You would have killed him either way."

Lucien took a shaky breath, trying to muster courage. "The elves... they’ll come for you. You’ve gone too far by killing him—!"

Akamir chuckled. "You think that would stop me?"

He took another step as he now stood infront of him. "Do you Lucien?"

Lucien’s sword began to lower, his voice broke. "...You, I will kill you!!"

Lucien rushed in rasing his sword to behead him.

Akamir just moved his head just a little to let the tip of the sword rush past his face.

He then took a step forward and kicked Lucien’s knee.

"ARGHHH!!!!"

The boy screamed form the top of his lungs as his knee was dislocated.

Lucien dropped like a sack of stones, clutching his leg in agony as he writhed on the cold marble floor.

Akamir stood over him, unfazed.

"You really thought you’d land that strike?" he asked, genuinely curious. "Even after watching what I just did to the elf?"

Lucien didn’t answer.

He was too busy groaning, tears streaming down his face, trying to drag himself backward.

Akamir lowered himself slightly, crouching beside the prince.

He looked him in the eyes.

"You talk too much, you threaten too easily, and you think too highly of yourself," he said, voice even. "You weren’t born to lead. You were born to hide behind people like him."

Lucien’s hand fumbled toward his belt—searching for something.

’A dagger, maybe.’

Akamir noticed, but didn’t stop him.

He waited.

Lucien’s fingers closed around a hidden blade.

With a desperate yell, he swung upward.

Clink!

Akamir caught his wrist mid-swing.

With a twist, he broke his wrist.

The dagger clattered beside them.

Lucien whimpered, holding back his tears.

Akamir stared at him. "That was your last attempt?"

Lucien spat, but even that was weak. "I am the prince—!"

The voice of people entering the room echoed.

Akamir shifted his gaze as he found, Inara walked inside.

Thier were other people behind her as well, generals, nobles and lot more.

She slowed down her steps as she looked at the throne room.

Her then than landed on Akamir and finally at her borther....Lucien.

Inara looked back at her subjects. "Stay out, I will handle from here."

A few opened their mouths but none protested.

They bowed once and then walked out leaving the three alone.

Inara stepped forward, her heels clicking softly against the blood-stained floor.

Her eyes didn’t leave her brother as she walked.

Lucien groaned, trying to sit up despite his ruined knee and limp wrist.

"Inara..." he gasped, his voice weak, hopeful. "Help me..."

The girl didn’t said anything as Lucien began to crawl towards her.

"He..he is a monster." Lucien said, pointing at Akamir. "He has those...creatures. He will burn his kingdom!"

Inara didn’t respond right away.

Her expression stayed calm as she watched her brother crawl across the marble floor like a broken doll.

His voice trembled with desperation, but there was no pity in her gaze.

Akamir stepped back, giving them space, quietly watching.

Lucien reached for the hem of her dress, clutching it like a lifeline. "Inara... please, I’m your brother."

She looked down at his hand, then slowly pried his fingers off her dress.

"I saw you as my brother," she said, her voice quiet but clear. "But you saw me as your tool."

"W-what are you saying?" He asked, his voice breaking. "I was thinking about the people, the kingdom—."

"You never thought about them." She said, looking down at him. "You always thought about yourself."

Tears trickled down his face as he couldn’t even understand why she was doing it.

He always thought his sister was navie and easy to manipulate but now....

Lucien’s eyes finally fell on Akamir once again.

"He..He is a murder!!" Lucien yelled, pointing at him. "He killed the crown prince and framed his older brother!"

Inara looked at Akamir who remained calm and collected.

"Sister he even killed your...fiance!!" Lucien said, his voice trembling with hope. "Moris died because he wanted you all for himself!!"

That...effect Inara a lot.

But not in a way that Lucien wanted.

Inara gave him one last look before she walked towards the throne.

When she arrived infront of Akamir she stopped.

Her crimson eyes met with his own.

"....Please give him a painless death." She requested, her voice trembling in pain.

Even though Akamir wanted to torture Lucien....

He just gave her a short nod as he moved towards Lucien.

Lucien’s eyes widened as Akamir approached, dragging the blood-soaked spear behind him.

"No—no, wait!" Lucien scrambled backward, legs shaking, arms useless. "Inara, you can’t let him—!"

His words were cut short as Akamir stopped a few feet away. He looked down at the broken prince, unflinching.

Lucien’s breathing grew shallow. "I... I was going to make things right. I swear."

"And you failed," Akamir said.

Lucien’s mouth opened to speak again, but no sound came out. Only shallow, panicked breaths.

Akamir raised the spear. "Farewell prince."

Lucien shook his head frantically. "No, no, no, please—!"

Akamir didn’t let him finish.

With one clean thrust, he drove the spear through Lucien’s chest.

The prince froze, mouth agape, the life draining from his eyes.

Akamir pulled the spear back and let the body fall to the ground.

He turned around slowly and walked back to Inara, wiping the blood off the blade with a torn piece of Lucien’s cloak.

Inara didn’t even turned back to see his brother’s dead body.

She just clapped her hands and Maria walked inside.

She knelt down. "Your majesty."

"Take away his body and hang it infront of the palace." She ordered without looking back. "Make sure the kingdom is aware of his deeds."

"Yes, my lady." Maria said, standing up as she called two more soliders to drag the body out.

Inara remained quiet as Akamir stood by his side.

She stared at the throne with lifeless eyes.

Akamir walked closer and frimly squeezed her shoulder. "It was supposed—."

His words halted as Inara took a step back and pointed at dagger at him.

Akamir raised an eyebrow, not moving.

The dagger trembled slightly in Inara’s grip.

Her hand wasn’t steady but her eyes were.

"Inara?" he asked, calmly.

"Sit on the throne." She ordered, staring at him.

"Why—."

"Do it."

Akamir let out a sigh as he sat on the iron throne.

He leaned back as he looked at her pointing the dagger from afar.

"You do know, I can disarm you from this distance." Akamir said, looking into her eyes.

Inara didn’t replied as she walked forward.

Without a word, she raised her legs and straddle his body.

Her soft body now pressed against him while the dagger close to his throat.

’Is she playing with me?’

He wasn’t sure.

"You...are the greatest asset of this kingdom." Inara said, looking into his eyes. "...And potentially it’s greatest enemy."

Her breath mingled with his as they were inches away.

"With the power you hold." She continued. "No matter what happens, I can never fully trust you."

Akamir nodded calmly. "Understandable."

"But...." Inara said, lowering the dagger. "As the queen, I will do everything in my power to keep the kingdom’s greastest asset with me."

She leaned forward, her lips touched his, lightly at first before turning heated.

When she finally pulled back, her breath was uneven.

Inara slowly moved back, standing on her legs.

Her expression turned serious as she looked at him.

"As the queen of Krivos Kingdom."

She said, her voice completely calm.

"I order you to visit my room tonight."

"..."

She didn’t waited for his reply as she turned around and walked away.

.....Akamir sat on the thorne for a long time.
