Cultivating in the Wizard World-Chapter 203 - 187: Incubation Pool
As the two Third Level Magma Giants fell one after another, the violent energy within this underground cave suddenly diminished.
Yet, Jeming and the other two wizards had no time for even a moment’s respite.
Because the battlefield’s situation did not calm down immediately due to the Leader’s death; instead, it was like a gunpowder barrel being ignited, entering an even more frenzied state!
The surrounding Magma Giants were not afraid due to the death of the two Leaders; instead, they became more and more violent!
Their eyes burned with even fiercer anger, roaring deafeningly, as if they had lost all reason, recklessly charging toward the three human wizards!
The number of Magma Giants in this cave was beyond imagination.
"Damn it! Are they crazy?!" the Second Level Wizard exclaimed in shock, as his already dwindling Spiritual Power was once again rapidly consumed.
There was not a trace of emotion in Jeming’s eyes.
The sight of these countless Magma Giants rushing forward was indeed terrifying, but to Jeming, the pressure brought by these Magma Giants was still not comparable to that of the Tier Three Magma Giant.
Most importantly, he was best at facing large-scale battles without opponents stronger than himself.
He spread out the Energy Bullets of "Great Light Appearance," like a flood of energy, ruthlessly blasting away all Magma Giants trying to approach.
Alternating between high-frequency sonic suppression and a downgraded version of "Magma Annihilation," each attack instantly shattered the Second Level elite units among these Magma Giants, turning them into sky-high scorched fragments.
The First Level Wizard hid behind the two men, barely using Healing Magic to recover himself and occasionally supporting with Small Area Damage Magic.
However, his weak attacks were merely a drop in the ocean against the massive number of Magma Giants.
Even Jeming hadn’t anticipated the astonishing number of Magma Giants in this cave.
From the depths of the cave, it seemed an endless stream of Magma Giants emerged, then rushed toward them, baring their teeth and claws.
The three wizards could only continuously, mechanically launch attacks, trying to eliminate as many of these fearless enemies as possible before being overwhelmed by the frenzied Magma Giants.
They persisted in this clearing for nearly half an hour before the almost "suicidal" charge of the Magma Giants in the vast underground cave finally began to subside.
After confirming that no more Magma Giants rushed out from the depths of the Earth Vein or crevices in the rock wall, even Jeming let out a slight breath of relief.
Having lifted the Soul-wrenching "Acceleration," Jeming took a long breath, feeling somewhat fatigued.
He slightly sensed the reserves of the energy storage Talisman Witchcraft of Great Light Appearance’s central, three metal-disc-like devices.
The battle with the Third Level Magma Giant had only consumed half the energy of one Talisman Witchcraft.
Yet the low-level Magma Giants before him had forced him to consume an entire metal disc’s reserves.
What’s most painful is that the recent battle was so thrilling that none of them had time to hold back, leaving them only able to go all out.
Thus, after such a hard battle, they hadn’t even gained much useful rewards.
"Let’s hope the intelligence from the Third Level Magma Giants can compensate for this loss."
Jeming sighed and turned toward the direction of the Third Level Magma Giants.
Meanwhile, the gasping Second Level Wizard also raised his head simultaneously.
The two exchanged a glance and nodded at each other, understanding they shared the same thought.
They tacitly moved toward the location where the two Third Level Magma Giants had died, but upon arriving at the site of the Magma Giant’s death, Jeming’s face turned a bit unsightly.
The Soul of this previously slain Third Level Magma Giant had completely dissipated due to a delay caused by the fierce battle earlier.
It had not even left a trace of Soul fragment for Soul Search.
"Does targeted destructive Witchcraft even significantly harm the Soul... makes sense..." Jeming realized this point and couldn’t help feeling frustrated, "Bad luck, can’t obtain intelligence from the Soul."
Looking at the Second Level Wizard beside him, that guy had already begun cursing vehemently; it seemed to be the same situation.
Jeming felt some regret in his heart but not too much ripple.
After all, in the breakthrough from such hopeless situations and deadly battles, survival was of utmost importance.
Moreover, for him, this wasn’t considered a huge loss.
Due to the special nature of the Talisman Witchcraft, Jeming himself had only consumed some Spiritual Power and energy reserves, things that could be replenished at any time.
The most was the loss of some time and Magic Potion.
On the contrary, the other two wizards had practically exhausted all their resources in this battle and unexpectedly gained nothing, which was a severe loss.
Once the Second Level Wizard calmed down, the three had a brief rest, replenished a bit of Spiritual Power, and set off again.
After all, having spent so much on this battle, they definitely needed to see if there was anything in the cave that could offset the loss.
However, upon re-entering action, Jeming could distinctly feel the attitude of the two wizards toward him had completely changed.
Especially the Second Level Wizard, who even behaved somewhat reserved.
After all, in the recent battle, the two wizards were not blind; they clearly understood how exaggeratedly powerful Jeming’s combat prowess was.
This Second Level Wizard knows that if a real confrontation were to happen, he would barely last a few rounds under the opponent’s hand.
Jeming also realized this, but he didn’t pay attention to it for now, focusing instead on another matter.
Just before, his Fifth Level Spatial Jumping Witchcraft, a powerful witchcraft capable of penetrating space barriers, was perfectly interfered with by the forces within this cave!
This undoubtedly indicates that there is some extremely special and unusual existence hidden here.
If he could make some special discovery, this trip might be worth it.
During the search process, a peculiar feeling lingered in the hearts of the three people.
After the previous savage battle, this cave became unusually "clean"!
Aside from the wreckage of Magma Giants and destroyed plants scattered across the ground, there were hardly any remnants of Magma Giants left along the way.
Unlike the medium-sized stronghold that Jeming had cleared before, where even after the main battle concluded there were still some scattered individuals hiding.
Walking further in, not even the corpses of Magma Giants were visible.
Now, the feeling this cave gives is as though all Magma Giants "voluntarily" went to their deaths in the last round of battle, leaving not a single survivor!
This made Jeming even more curious.
Although Magma Giants are elemental creatures, they are, in essence, still biological beings.
They possess self-awareness, engage in social activities, and naturally fear death.
This near self-destructive charge seems extremely irrational.
Moreover, based on the previous battle, the proportion of Second Level Magma Giants within this cave also appeared to be very abnormal.
In typical Magma Giant strongholds, Second Level Magma Giants are rare, making up only a tiny fraction.
Yet, in the previous battle, the number of Second Level Magma Giants reached nearly one-tenth of the number of First Level Magma Giants!
This ratio is much higher than the common situation outside, even surpassing the elite ratio during the landing battle!
"This place is definitely not simple..."
All three wizards sensed this eerie peculiarity, proceeding even more cautiously.
Not far from the "plantation," was another area where the Magma Giants kept their livestock: the "farm."
It was several sections enclosed by special rocks, housing some Otherworld creatures capable of surviving in high temperatures—they were covered with rock-like keratin, resembling giant lizards, lying on the ground munching on those red leaves.
These creatures were evidently the source of food for the Magma Giants.
As Jeming walked each segment, he activated the "All-Purpose Eye," sensing any spatial distorting fluctuations nearby.
Then, Jeming would head toward the area with more concentrated spatial disturbances.
Hard work pays off.
Gradually advancing a dozen kilometers or so, Jeming finally detected an anomaly deep within a concealed rock wall.
The spatial fluctuations there were extremely faint yet carried a sort of distorted gravity.
Following this wave, the three quickly arrived at a very hidden tunnel extending deeper underground.
The tunnel was so narrow that it could truly be termed cramped, starkly different from the style of the previous Magma Giant’s nest.
Venturing along the tunnel, it wasn’t long before a spacious chamber unfolded before them.
In the darkness, a strong wave of Energy surged forward, carrying the primordial essence of Life.
Upon seeing what’s inside the chamber, even the experienced Second Level Wizards and Jeming, the well-informed Logistics Element Wizard, couldn’t restrain their expressions of shock from appearing on their faces!
What lay before them seemed like a man-made Magma Pool.
Although not large, about a dozen meters in diameter with a regular shape, its edges surrounded by delicately carved runic stones.
However, the most astonishing aspect was the fluid within the Magma Pool.
Though equally viscous and emitting rolling heat, its color displayed a peculiar and vivid crimson, seeming less like melted rock and more akin to actual blood!
A rich and intricate essence of Life, along with some primordial wave, permeated from the Magma Pool.
Jeming, seeing it for the first time, immediately recognized its origin—this was one of the unique "resources" specific to the Magma Giant race: the Incubation Pool!
His mind instantly recalled scraps of conversation among those biological wizards at the Wizard Camp discussing the reproductive methods of Magma Giants.
Magma Giants have no gender division; their primary mode of reproduction is the more primitive "autonomous splitting."
The production process is quite simple; a Magma Giant needs only to separate a fragment of its core, throwing it into a Magma Pool saturated with Energy.
That fragment bearing Life’s signature could, under the nourishment of Magma’s force, quickly grow into a brand-new Magma Giant.
