Chapter 41: Chapter 41: The Wedding Night

Fang Cheng waited at the Guest Welcoming Inn at the foot of Cangwu Mountain for over ten days before Die’Er finally informed him that the Ye Family had set the wedding date.

In this realm, weddings adhered to the tradition of welcoming the bride in the morning and marrying her at dusk. This custom was the very origin of the word for marriage.

As dusk fell that day.

All of Cangwu Mountain was festooned with lanterns and colorful banners as a grand, lively wedding celebration got underway.

Every guest at the wedding banquet was a core, high-ranking member of the Ye Family!

After Fang Cheng and Ye Yan completed the ceremony according to ancient tradition, Ye Yan, dressed in a phoenix coronet and embroidered wedding gown with a red satin veil over her head, was escorted back to the new Cave Mansion the Ye Family had built for the couple.

Fang Cheng, as the groom, remained behind to toast the guests and receive their well-wishes.

Die’Er stayed by Fang Cheng’s side, introducing him to the senior members of each of the Ye Family’s branches.

But the true focus of the wedding banquet was the one who held real power in the Ye Family Elders’ Council: Madam Ye!

Everyone was polite to Fang Cheng, but in truth, it was only out of deference to Madam Ye. Their congratulations were mostly empty pleasantries.

Die’Er had also told Fang Cheng that Madam Ye’s Dao Companion—Ye Yan’s father—had perished years ago while away from home. If not for Madam Ye’s high cultivation, it would have been difficult for her to keep the various branches of the Ye Family in line.

Of course, Madam Ye came from another of the four great families, the Feng Family, and had received considerable support from her maiden family in her early years.

Inside the grand banquet hall, melodious music filled the air and dancers twirled gracefully. After a few rounds of wine, the guests at every table grew more boisterous.

According to custom, the groom could now leave the banquet, allowing the guests to continue drinking on their own.

Fang Cheng had been toasted with a great deal of Spirit Wine by the guests. Even with his Minor Achievement in Body Refining, his head was now spinning.

He went to Madam Ye’s table to bid her farewell. Then, with Die’Er supporting him, he made his way to the Cave Mansion.

This was his first time visiting the Cave Mansion since its completion.

The Cave Mansion was located atop a high cliff in the southwestern part of Cangwu Mountain.

Under the bright moonlight, a Jade Tower stood before the woods at the cliff’s edge, shimmering with a rosy glow. The tower was three stories tall, with five rooms on each floor arranged in the shape of a plum blossom. Its entire structure seemed to be carved from green jade, featuring ornate railings, jeweled steps, golden doors, and jadeite pillars. Adorned with carvings of clouds and moons, it exuded a majestic and solemn aura of unparalleled beauty.

There was a Tier Two Spiritual Vein on Xiaocang Island. Though this location wasn’t part of the Ye Family’s core territory, the concentration of Spiritual Qi far surpassed that of the Yinluo Sect Marketplace—it was more than ten times denser!

With Die’Er’s support, Fang Cheng entered the Jade Tower and was astounded by what he saw. The interior furnishings were magnificent, crafted with a skill that seemed to defy nature. It was a true eye-opener for him. 𝒇𝓻𝓮𝓮𝙬𝙚𝒃𝒏𝓸𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝓬𝓸𝒎

Brocade stools, patterned side tables, jade desks, and crystal beds—everything was both luxurious and tasteful. Yet amidst the gleam of jewels and finery, the decor retained an antique charm, lending it a unique air of dignified and serene elegance.

The top floor of the Jade Tower had its five rooms opened up into a single, spacious hall. It was surrounded by green jade railings, exquisitely wrought, seemingly designed for guests to lean against while enjoying the distant view.

Now, a hundred golden lamps were dotted throughout the hall, twinkling like stars and suffusing the space with a warm, festive glow.

The entire Jade Tower was for daily living, while beneath it lay the true secret chambers of the Cave Mansion!

The bridal chamber was on the second floor.

Inside the magnificent and elegant bridal chamber, red dragon-and-phoenix candles burned quietly.

On the large, canopied bed, spread with a brocade quilt embroidered with mandarin ducks, sat a stunningly beautiful woman in her wedding finery.

Die’Er quietly withdrew and closed the door.

Fang Cheng picked up a ceremonial rod from a nearby table, walked before the Jade Couch, and slowly lifted the bride’s veil.

In that instant, a devastatingly beautiful face—one that could topple nations—was revealed before him.

Under the candlelight, Ye Yan was clad in her magnificent wedding gown. Her skin was fairer than snow, her features as picturesque as a painting, her lovely face delicate and flawless. This, combined with her slender figure and graceful curves, made her look utterly enchanting and seductive in the festive atmosphere.

A faint, sweet fragrance permeated the air, a scent that was wonderfully pleasant.

’Truth be told, Ye Yan’s beauty... far surpassed my expectations!’

"Husband, it is time for the nuptial wine."

Ye Yan’s lovely face was tinged with shyness. Her dark, bright, almond-shaped eyes studied Fang Cheng with curiosity as she spoke in a soft voice.

Fang Cheng nodded. "I almost forgot that part of the ceremony."

With that, he got up, walked to the table, picked up two cups of wedding wine, and handed one to Ye Yan.

Then, he and Ye Yan each drank half a cup first, before linking arms and finishing the rest together.

As they did, their faces were so close they could feel the warmth of each other’s breath, and the atmosphere grew incredibly intimate.

After drinking the nuptial wine, they followed the ancient rite and tossed the cups under the bed. One cup landed face up, the other face down, and they happened to stack perfectly together.

It was a perfect analogy for the man above and the woman below, for the heavens covering the earth. A sign of harmonious yin and yang, portending great fortune and prosperity.

The newlyweds looked at each other, then smiled in unison. A warm, intimate feeling blossomed between them, shattering the awkwardness of being strangers just moments before.

Ye Yan’s face flushed slightly. She couldn’t help but steal a few more glances at Fang Cheng before turning to sit back down on the edge of the Jade Couch. She kept her long, shapely legs together, a smile in her beautiful eyes.

Fang Cheng came to the bedside and, without a word, personally removed Ye Yan’s red, gold-threaded embroidered shoes and silk stockings. He took hold of her beautiful, fair, jade-like feet and couldn’t resist tickling her soles a few times.

The girl’s smooth, snow-white toes instantly curled up, and she couldn’t help but let out a giggle. Her exquisite, coolly elegant, oval face now held a trace of coquettish charm, making her look both innocent and seductive.

Fang Cheng looked at the young woman’s delicate face and asked earnestly, "Wife, it’s getting late. Shall we rest?"

Ye Yan’s pretty face was crimson. Amidst her shyness and nervousness, there was also a hint of playfulness.

She nodded lightly, pulled her small, snow-white feet from his hands, then reached up to unfasten her ceremonial gown, taking it off and hanging it on a nearby clothes rack.

Beneath her gown, she wore a moon-white silk nightdress that clung to her graceful figure, accentuating her full, round breasts—like heavy fruit hanging from a slender branch.

And below her slender, curved waist, a pair of long, smooth, and shapely legs, fair as jade, were utterly captivating.

She turned, her shapely rear lifting as she climbed onto the soft quilt. She draped herself lazily over the pillows, then turned to cast a sidelong glance at Fang Cheng, who stood by the bed. Feigning a bold, unrestrained air, she said, "Well, what are you waiting for...? Come on up."

Against the backdrop of the flickering red candles, the sight of this woman in this scene was almost too beautiful to behold.

...

After a night of passionate intimacy, the barrier that had existed between them as strangers completely disappeared.

Having spent her whole life cultivating within her clan, Ye Yan had a simple and sheltered personality. How could she possibly be a match for Fang Cheng, a man with the experience of two lifetimes?

Under Fang Cheng’s endless sweet talk, the young maiden of the great clan became sweet and compliant, even a little coquettish and clingy. Her cool, elegant demeanor was now reserved only for outsiders.

In front of Fang Cheng, she was nothing but gentle and charming.

「The next day.」

The two of them sat in the third-floor pavilion, examining the many wedding gifts they had received.

Each gift bore a name tag, and the variety was immense. There were elegant items like Spirit Tea, Spirit Wine, travelogues, calligraphy, and antiques... as well as cultivation resources like spiritual materials, pills, Magical Artifacts, and Talismans.

Most of the gifts were items beneficial for cultivating Water Element Techniques; one didn’t even need to look to know they were for Ye Yan.

She cultivated the Black Water Profound Talisman Scripture, one of the most powerful Water Element Techniques in the Abyssal Marsh. It allowed one to use various types of Heaven and Earth Spiritual Water to cultivate the Water True Light, and was incredibly profound.

While they were looking through the gifts, Ye Yan introduced the senders to Fang Cheng one by one.

One gift in particular caught Fang Cheng’s attention. The sender was, to his surprise—Feng Ling!

"This is from my cousin..." Ye Yan said, pointing to Feng Ling’s name. She smiled and unwrapped the gift. Inside was an exquisitely carved Golem made from Dao Pattern Spirit Jade.

The Golem was about a foot tall, and a faint Demon Charm flowed around it. It seemed to be helpful for comprehending Demon Path Cultivation Methods.

"Feng Ling is your cousin?" Fang Cheng asked, looking at Ye Yan with a strange expression.

Ye Yan made a sound of agreement. "You know her?" she asked curiously.

Fang Cheng pondered for a moment before replying, "She knows my master. She later asked me to help her brew Spirit Wine."

He did not mention the matter between Fang Hen and the Feng Family.

"Oh, I see." Ye Yan chuckled lightly and said in a gentle voice, "My mother is from the Feng Family. She’s Feng Ling’s paternal aunt."

Fang Cheng nodded. A thousand thoughts churned in his mind, but he said nothing more.

He picked up the Spirit Jade Golem. The Golden Talisman in his sea of consciousness trembled slightly, and the text on it changed.
