Cultivation: I Have a Golden Talisman-Chapter 51: Killed with One Punch
Fang Cheng chuckled lightly and said with a relaxed air, "I’ve long heard of the Zhou Family’s famous Sword Technique. Today, I suppose I’ll have to experience it for myself."
When Zhou Huaijin heard the utter lack of fear in Fang Cheng’s voice, he was stunned for a moment before sneering, "You truly don’t know what you’re up against!"
He had always looked down on Loose Cultivators like this—men of low birth who, through some minor lucky break and a sliver of talent, became smug and considered themselves extraordinary!
’How could a frog at the bottom of a well like you possibly understand the profound heritage of a great family?’
Zhou Huaijin had originally prepared a whole set of taunts, afraid that Fang Cheng would simply crush his Trial Talisman and leave, causing him to miss his chance for revenge.
But to his surprise, his opponent was this arrogant. For a moment, Zhou Huaijin found it both laughable and infuriating.
He couldn’t be bothered to waste any more words. He simply gestured to the Zhou Family Disciples and barked, "Go!"
In an instant.
Twelve ethereal sword gleams, each carrying a demonic aura, scattered and weaved through the air, surrounding Fang Cheng in the blink of an eye.
As these sword gleams swirled and turned, their brilliance flashed erratically before they suddenly converged on the center!
The twelve sword gleams weaved back and forth like shuttles on a loom, forming a Sword Array that bore down mercilessly on Fang Cheng.
A vicious glint flashed in Zhou Huaijin’s eyes. He intended to take advantage of Fang Cheng letting his guard down to kill him in one fell swoop and quell the hatred in his heart.
Even a Late-stage Sensing Cultivator would be unlikely to escape this Zhou Family Sword Array alive.
He spurred on the sword gleams, already imagining the sight of Fang Cheng being torn to shreds by the Sword Array...
Fang Cheng stood still in the void, his Sword Heart Clarity reflecting everything around him.
This was his first time encountering a Sword Array Technique.
The twelve Cultivators had scattered, then linked their power from afar, easily trapping him within their Sword Array.
Unless he knew in advance how the Sword Array formed, it would have been impossible to react in time. He would have needed to stick close to one of the twelve Zhou Family Disciples as they moved to avoid being trapped from the start.
But Sword Arrays were unpredictable. Who could guess if this Zhou Family Sword Array had a countermeasure for that?
So Fang Cheng simply decided to counter movement with stillness!
With a low shout, he activated his Cyan Profound Sword Technique. The Red Feather Sword shot out, its gleam swirling into a whirlwind of light that completely enveloped him.
"TING TING TING..."
The Red Feather Sword flashed with agility, just barely holding back the torrential flood of sword gleams from the array, which poured down like a waterfall of rain.
He focused on controlling his Flying Sword, his movements deceptively slow as he adapted to the array’s shifts and began to comprehend its mysteries.
Meanwhile, Zhou Huaijin saw Fang Cheng was on the defensive. An idea struck him, and he shouted sternly, "Watch out for his Poison Gu!"
The numerous Zhou Family Disciples all secretly gripped their Rejuvenation Talismans, preparing to defend against the invisible Poisonous Gu.
At the same time, they all activated their Sword Technique in unison. The Flying Swords within the array suddenly accelerated, weaving together as they rained down on Fang Cheng in a relentless series of strikes.
None of their twelve Flying Swords were inferior in quality to the Red Feather Sword; in fact, the swords belonging to Zhou Huaijin and a few others were even superior.
In a mere instant, Fang Cheng’s Red Feather Sword endured the assault of over a thousand sword gleams. Despite its superior quality, approaching Tier One Upper Grade, it could not withstand the barrage. With a mournful hum, it shattered.
The Sword Array immediately closed in on him!
Zhou Huaijin’s eyes lit up. Seeing his enemy about to die under his swords, he couldn’t help but let out a triumphant laugh.
But right at that moment, his gaze met Fang Cheng’s eyes.
As their eyes met, he saw the placid look in Fang Cheng’s, and for some unknown reason, his heart suddenly lurched.
A faint golden light surfaced on Fang Cheng’s skin. Invisible flames seemed to wreath his body, emitting an oppressive wave of heat.
The sword gleams descended. The expected scene of Fang Cheng being torn to pieces by the chaotic blades never happened. Instead, a dense chorus of metal striking metal rang out.
Celestial Fire Body Forging Technique!
Zhou Huaijin could even see the golden sparks that shot out when the Flying Swords collided with Fang Cheng’s body.
All twelve members of the Zhou Family froze, utterly stunned.
Utterly and inexplicably horrified. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎
They watched as Fang Cheng endured the rain of swords, swatting aside the blades that had yet to reach him. With a thunderous roar, he lunged forward. Like a sudden clap of thunder, like a blazing sun crossing the sky, he closed the distance to Zhou Huaijin in a single bound and sent a fist flying toward his face.
Zhou Huaijin was completely taken aback. He hastily snapped back to reality and tried to pivot his sword to block Fang Cheng.
But it was too late.
All he saw was the flash of a fist before his vision went black.
In the eyes of the other Zhou Family members, Fang Cheng’s punch had utterly obliterated Zhou Huaijin’s head in a brutal and bloody spectacle.
"A decent Sword Array. It’s a shame your Cultivation and Sword Technique are so lacking..."
Fang Cheng murmured. Two Vajra Gu scrambled over each other as they flew into Zhou Huaijin’s corpse.
The large corpse began to vanish at a speed visible to the naked eye.
Seeing this, the other Zhou Family Disciples lost all will to fight. They fell back one after another, turning to flee.
"You should all stay a while longer..."
A cold light appeared in Fang Cheng’s eyes. He pointed his finger, and a jet-black Demonic Light flew out.
His Li Hen Demon Light, now at the thirteenth level, shot forward like a flash of lightning, sweeping past the eleven Zhou Family Disciples in a heartbeat.
The eleven first felt a surging, tyrannical demonic will pour into their seas of consciousness, leaving them dazed and their minds in turmoil.
Then they felt the Magical Power inside them begin to burn uncontrollably, and their bodies erupted in pure black Demon Fire.
The men didn’t even have time to scream, let alone take out their Trial Talismans, crush them, and escape.
They had no time to use any of the other life-saving measures they carried.
In the blink of an eye, eleven balls of pitch-black flame blazed in the air, only dying down after the Cultivators within were reduced to cinders.
However, thanks to Fang Cheng’s deliberate control, all eleven of their storage bags remained intact.
With a flick of his finger, he sent out a gleam of sword light that wrapped around the eleven storage bags and pulled them back. He then collected Zhou Huaijin’s storage bag as well before nodding in satisfaction.
’I am not a bloodthirsty person, but... there can be no witnesses.’
’Otherwise, the trouble will be endless.’
The two Tier One Late Stage Vajra Gu quickly devoured all of Zhou Huaijin’s flesh and blood. Fang Cheng released a beam of Li Hen Demon Light, burning his bones to ashes, and only then did he quietly depart.
...
Not long after, Fang Cheng found the fourth Trial Stele.
Once again, someone had beaten him to it.
Fang Cheng didn’t stop to rest. After adding his mark, he continued towards the fifth Trial Stele.
Relying on the connection from his Trial Talisman, his speed was much faster than the others.
But he was still not as fast as that mysterious Cultivator who possessed a Fire Element Technique.
Wherever this person went, traces of battles fought with a domineering flame-based magic were left near the Trial Stele, and the corpses of various Demon Beasts littered the ground.
Fang Cheng chased all the way to the eighth Trial Stele, but his path was blocked by seven or eight Cultivators, who wouldn’t let him go down and approach the Stone Stele.
After asking, Fang Cheng learned that this was a Trial Stele occupied by the Xu Family.
These seven or eight Xu Family disciples had raced here from the moment the trial began, making no stops along the way. Their goal was to block other participants and create an opportunity for the cultivators from their own family.
Unless one had already made a deal with the Xu Family, they would have to force their way through to get near the Stone Stele.
Fang Cheng tried reasoning with them humbly for a moment. When that proved ineffective, he secretly activated his Poison Gu, poisoning all of them and sending them collapsing to the ground.
He knew that surveillance Magic was active near the Stone Stele and that outsiders would be watching. Therefore, he held back the full power of the Poisonous Gu and didn’t kill them.
The Xu Family Cultivators scrambled to crush their Trial Talismans. They were immediately enveloped by streams of white light and sent back to Cloud Whale Mountain.
