Daddy is too Strong-Chapter 24
Chapter 24
“‘Hold on’ my ass,” Do-Jun cursed at Izaas.
Rumble...
The mana gun resonated with Do-Jun’s internal energy and roared as if it would explode at any moment.
As a shiver ran down Izaas’ spine, he thought that if that bullet hit him directly, even he, a dragon, could die.
“I have a question!” he blurted out.
Do-Jun nodded. “I’ll allow one.”
“What must I do for you to let me live?”
“Why are you asking me that?”
“Because you hold my life in your hands right now!”
Booooom!
A bullet shot out from the mana gun. With a thunderous noise, it tore through the air, just narrowly missing Izaas.
A moment later, a massive explosion erupted.
Booooom!
Upon turning his head, Izaas saw that an entire mountain range had been obliterated.
Swallowing hard, he looked back at Do-Jun and muttered, “This power... What in the world? How can a human...”
On the other hand, Do-Jun couldn’t understand why the dragon was trembling so hard from an attack that he had significantly held back on.
There’s no doubt that he’s stronger than the Monarch Ogre, but.... Do-Jun recalled the boss monster he had encountered in the Swamp of the Dark Ogre, but Izaas seemed at least ten times stronger.
So, was this dragon in front of him an S-rank monster?
“I can let you live,” Do-Jun said.
Izaas grinned in relief at Do-Jun’s words, but he realized it was too early to celebrate as Do-Jun continued to speak.
“But first, you gotta take like five hits.”
“Pardon...?”

Yoon-Hee pinched her own cheek. She couldn’t believe whether the sight before her was real.
“Straighten up,” Do-Jun commanded the dragon.
“Y-yes, sir!”
Izaas, the Dragon, looked like he was in excruciating pain as Do-Jun sat on top of his head, using a martial art technique called Ten-Thousand-Pound Weight. It was a skill where Internal Energy was injected into the lower body to increase its mass.
“H-how long do I have to keep doing this...” Izaas asked cautiously.
At those words, Do-Jun released the skill and lightly stepped off Izaas’ head, enabling the dragon to finally straighten his neck.
“So, your answer?” Do-Jun asked him.
Izaas nodded vigorously, knowing that doing otherwise would mean death.
Whoosh.
Izaas’ massive body began to shrink. In just a moment, he turned into a mini dragon the size of a typical pet with a cute tail and wings just a bit bigger than a hand.
“C-curses. The great Izaas... reduced to this ridiculous form...”
“What was that?”
“Oh, nothing, Master.”
Do-Jun walked over to Yoon-Hee, who was still on the ground. He returned the mana gun to her and extended his hand.
“Can you stand?” he asked.
“U-uh... Y-yes, I can!”
Yoon-Hee quickly got up without taking Do-Jun’s hand. She seemed very tense for some reason. Do-Jun reached out to retrieve his suit jacket and put it on again.
“Um, Dad—no, Father.”
“Yeah?”
“Y-you are... my father... right?”
Until now, she knew Do-Jun to be always kind and considerate to everyone, but most importantly, he was an ordinary person with basically no mana.
But the person in front of her was completely different.
Do-Jun noticed that Yoon-Hee seemed slightly afraid of him, but he also thought that it was understandable. After all, he had always tried to keep his power hidden from everyone.
However, in this situation, Yoon-Hee’s life could have been in danger if he had continued to hide his power, so he had no choice but to reveal it.
“Yoon-Hee, about what you just saw...” Do-Jun started to speak, but Yoon-Hee nodded as if she already knew what he was about to say.
“You want me to keep it a secret, right?”
“Yeah...”
“Of course.”
“Are you really okay with that?” Do-Jun asked, surprised at Yoon-Hee’s rather quick acceptance.
“Father, you must’ve hidden your powers for a reason, and as your daughter, of course I should cooperate!”
Do-Jun felt grateful. He smiled and patted Yoon-Hee’s head. At that, Yoon-Hee smiled shyly as if the touch seemed to comfort her.
The now-adorable Izaas cautiously approached Do-Jun. However, still shaken by the earlier terror, Yoon-Hee flinched and took a step back.
“Grrr...” Izaas growled lowly as if his playful side was emerging.
Do-Jun picked Izaas and brought him up to his face. Seeing Do-Jun’s cold eyes, Izaas shuddered and quickly apologized, “I-I’m sorry!”
“Act cute.”
“Y-yes, Master!”
As soon as Do-Jun put Izaas back down, Izaas flipped over and exposed its belly, a sign of submission in the kingdom of animals.

Only then did Yoon-Hee cautiously approach and petted Izaas’ belly.
This is humiliating...

Meanwhile, Cheol-Soo checked his wristwatch and looked around.
It was already close to noon. The free hunting time was nearly over, and it was time to wrap up the field trip.
“Have you seen Do-Jun? Where is this guy?” Cheol-Soo asked Hyuk-Soo.
“He was just over there earlier, but he’s disappeared,” Hyuk-Soo said, staring at the spot where Do-Jun had been hunting with Yoon-Hee.
Then, out of nowhere, Do-Jun and Yoon-Hee suddenly appeared in midair.
Hyuk-Soo rubbed his eyes and looked again, thinking, What just happened? Did I just miss them because it suddenly got dark for a second?
But it didn’t really matter anyway.
“Chief, he is there.”
“Where?”
Hyuk-Soo pointed in the direction. Cheol-Soo turned his head and saw Do-Jun walking over with a student and some sort of pet.
“Where were you?”
Do-Jun replied to the Chief’s question, scratching his head, “I had to take care of something.”
“We’re about to wrap things up, so let’s get ready... Hmm?” Cheol-Soo noticed Yoon-Hee sticking close to Do-Jun and tilted his head in curiosity. “Do you know this student?”
Hyuk-Soo glanced at Do-Jun with concern.
However, contrary to his expectations, Do-Jun answered without hesitation, “She’s my daughter, Chief.”
“Oh, I see. Your daughter... huh... huh?”
Cheol-Soo was shocked.
As if he had anticipated this, Do-Jun elaborated, “It’s a long and complicated story, so I can’t go into details. I’m sorry.”
“No, no, that’s understandable, haha! Everyone makes mistakes when they’re young.”
Despite his words, Cheol-Soo alternated his gaze between the two, mouth agape. They didn’t look that far apart in age, so how was this even biologically possible?
“H-hello, I’m Seol Yoon-Hee.”
“Nice to meet you, haha. I’m Kang Cheol-Soo, the Section Chief of the Fissure Management Division... hold on, your last name is Seol?” Cheol-Soo said, then quickly turned his head to Do-Jun.
“I can’t go into details.”
“Ah... haha, I see. Okay, okay.” Cheol-Soo didn’t pry further.
Hyuk-Soo smiled and extended his hand for a handshake. He had been standing next to Cheol-Soo during the awkward interaction.
“I’m Kwon Hyuk-Soo, Do-Jun’s senior.”
“Oh! I’ve heard a lot about you. My father says you’ve been helping him a lot... Thank you.”
“Haha, not at all. Actually, Do-Jun has been helping me a lot.”
Then, Cheol-Soo pointed to the creature clinging to Do-Jun’s feet. “But this little... Is it a dog or a cat? No... it’s neither. Anyway, what is it?”
“This is Izaas... I mean, Yong-Yong.” Do-Jun quickly changed his answer mid-sentence.
“Yong-Yong?” Hyuk-Soo said, surprised.
Upon hearing that, Izaas growled lowly at Do-Jun, perhaps because of his new name.
“Tsk.” Do-Jun fired a light warning.
“Yong-Yong...” Izaas muttered in disbelief.[1]
Do-Jun continued, “He’s my new pet. He will be helping me from now on.”
“A pet...?” Hyuk-Soo asked, confused.
“I’ve had my Awakening,” Do-Jun said, startling Cheol-Soo and Hyuk-Soo.
Awakening without undergoing physical enhancement meant that he was what was commonly referred to as “blessed.”
“D-Do-Jun, are you serious? You’ve Awakened? Then does that mean....” Cheol-Soo trailed off.
“Do-Jun, are you planning to become a Hunter?” Hyuk-Soo asked instead.
“No, I’m not. But I do think it will be quite helpful for future Fissure explorations.”
Cheol-Soo sighed in relief at Do-Jun’s response.
Compared to a year ago, Do-Jun’s contribution at work had become significantly more substantial, and losing a capable subordinate like him would be tough for the head of the division.
“Chief, we should start wrapping things up,” Hyuk-Soo said, looking at the gathering students.
Cheol-Soo walked over to the students while stealing glances at Yong-Yong as if he was still fascinated.
***
Amid the students who had finished hunting and were resting, Teacher Lee Joo-Hyung stood up as he saw the Seoul City Hall staff approaching.
Cheol-Soo shook hands with Lee Joo-Hyung, saying, “Thank you for your hard work today, Mr. Lee.”
“Not at all. Thanks to you, Chief, everything went smoothly. Thank you all.”
Lee Joo-Hyung smiled and bowed his head to the three men from Seoul City Hall.
At that moment, Do-Jun turned his head toward an inexplicable hot gaze locked on him. The person staring at him was Eun-Joo. To be precise, she was staring at Yong-Yong at his feet.
Sensing her gaze, Yong-Yong growled at her, but he looked more like a small puppy trying to be playful.
Eun-Joo got up and strode over to Do-Jun.
“M-mister! What is this unbelievably cute animal?” she asked in an excited voice.
“He’s my pet.”
“Your pet?”
With its adorable legs, wings, tail, and a tiny horn on its forehead as the cherry on top, it was clear at a glance that this wasn’t an ordinary pet.
“I’ve Awakened,” Do-Jun said as an explanation.
“Awakened? Then, are you a Tamer?”
Tamer was an extremely rare special Class of Hunters that could summon or control monsters as slaves.
“But... mister, during the preliminary assessment...”
Do-Jun’s assessment showed that he had no Abilities or any potential. He was rankless.
“I can’t believe this is happening... So are you going to switch to being a Hunter now?” Eun-Joo inquired.
“No, I have no plan to do so,” Do-Jun said.
“But why not? Tamers are treated like royalty in any guild!”
Tamers were treated on par with Healers or perhaps even higher. They were versatile enough to act as tanks or dealers by controlling summoned beasts or contracted monsters, which was enough to make any guild desperate to recruit them.
“I am going to use it, but for Fissure explorations, of course.”
“But still... this is your chance to make a fortune,” Eun-Joo said, clearly feeling it was a waste.
Lee Joo-Hyung had been listening from the side and quickly agreed with her. “While it’s your choice, Supervisor Lee, I agree with Eun-Joo. If you became a Hunter, you could really make a name for yourself. With the skills of a Tamer, no matter the rank, you could get a contract with a signing bonus of at least 100 million won.”
Success.
At that word, Do-Jun gave a bittersweet smile.
Money and fame were words he’d grown tired of in the Central Plains. Honestly, if he wanted them, he could get them whenever he wished.
Just selling the remaining mana stones he got from the Monarch Ogre sitting at home would net him over 2 billion won, and if he started to wipe out monsters with his power, the honor would naturally follow.
But instead of thinking of doing any of that, Do-Jun smiled at Cheol-Soo, who was looking at him with worried eyes.
“Don’t worry, Chief. As I said earlier, I’m not quitting.”
“E-Ehem, did anyone say anything? I was just...” Cheol-Soo cleared his throat, embarrassed, and turned his head, and Hyuk-Soo chuckled as he watched.
Do-Jun looked over at Yoon-Hee. When their eyes met, her face flushed, and she quickly lowered her head.
Honestly, I’m having more fun now than I did back then, Do-Jun thought with a chuckle.
That was his true feeling.
