Chapter 420: Chapter 420: You Approached Him on Purpose

"Annie, you’ve suffered a lot. Rest well, I’ll go back and ask Auntie to make some soup."

Amelia Miles saw Serena Wells waking up and greeted her before preparing to leave with Damon Hawke.

"Okay, thank you, Sister Amelia. Safe travels."

Serena Wells was full of gratitude. 𝑓𝘳𝑒𝑒𝓌𝘦𝘣𝘯ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝑚

Amelia Miles smiled and left after speaking with Benjamin Harper.

The door was closed, and Benjamin Harper reached out to hold Serena Wells’s hand, his eyes full of guilt, "I’m sorry, Annie, I’ve dragged you into this."

If it weren’t for him, Ru Townsend wouldn’t have targeted her.

Her foot wouldn’t be injured either.

He wasn’t sure if he should tell her the truth.

"That’s not it, Brother Evan, you’re the best man in the world. I just hope you remain peaceful and happy until old age."

Serena Wells quickly shook her head, looking sincerely.

The woman’s complexion was pale, but her eyes were full of bright light.

Her heart and eyes were all for him.

Benjamin Harper’s heart felt endless ripples.

He tightened his grip on Serena Wells’s hand and asked, "Annie, will you be my girlfriend?"

He didn’t know when he started having feelings for her.

He wanted to spend his life with her, to love her until old age.

Serena Wells widened her eyes, staring at Benjamin Harper in disbelief.

Was she hearing things?

Brother Evan wanted her to be his girlfriend?

Why?

Was it because he felt she was injured because of him?

Did he feel guilty?

After a brief shock, Serena Wells’s eyes flickered evasively.

"Brother Evan, I...I’m not worthy of you."

He was her dream guy, but she felt she was nothing.

She didn’t have a good background, and she lost her most beloved career; how could she be worthy of him?

"Silly girl, you’re a good girl. There’s no such thing as worthy or not worthy."

Benjamin Harper said softly.

Serena Wells only felt that the fingers holding her were scorching hot.

She bit her lip, a hint of sadness flashing in her eyes.

"Brother Evan, I know my foot is injured. I won’t be able to dance in the future. You don’t need to say such things out of guilt, truly."

She was too self-aware.

How could she be worthy of her dream guy?

Benjamin Harper was a bit surprised that Serena Wells already knew she wouldn’t be able to dance in the future.

He pondered a moment, "Annie, do you think I want you to be my girlfriend because I feel guilty?"

This silly girl, she’s so insecure.

Marrying her out of guilt?

Was he a man who would aggrieve himself?

Serena Wells pursed her lips, not speaking.

She probably had already made up her mind on this thought.

Benjamin Harper sighed silently and didn’t press the topic further.

Time could prove everything.

Perhaps he was too abrupt today.

He scared her.

Let her see his actual actions.

"Does your head still hurt?"

Benjamin Harper tenderly touched Serena Wells’s bandaged head.

Serena Wells wanted to shake her head, but a sharp pain made her wince softly.

Benjamin Harper’s tender gaze intensified.

"Maybe I could sing you a song. Would that help a bit?"

Brother Evan wanted to sing a song for her?

Serena Wells blinked and smiled sweetly, "Sure."

"All right, I’ll sing." Benjamin Harper cleared his throat, intentionally softening his voice.

"Sleep, sleep, my dear baby..."

Serena Wells: "..."

Why did Brother Evan sing an adapted lullaby?

Serena Wells was amused, watching the man with such gentleness in his eyes that it could melt, her eyelids gradually drooping.

Hmm, she was indeed tired.

Outside the hospital.

Amelia Miles got into Damon Hawke’s car.

After closing the passenger door, Amelia Miles asked, "Tom, do you think they’re suited for each other?"

Benjamin Harper seemed to truly care for Serena Wells.

And Serena Wells treated Benjamin Harper with much care as well.

They appeared quite compatible.

But it was just an appearance.

Benjamin Harper was a good man, and she had said she would find a good girl for him.

"Wife, only the wearer knows if the shoes fit. You shouldn’t worry about other people’s affairs; instead, care more about me."

Damon Hawke started the car and turned the steering wheel.

"He’s not just anyone; he’s my family. I can’t help but worry." Amelia Miles glanced at his handsome face and smiled.

Damon Hawke raised an eyebrow, indifferent.

Amelia Miles didn’t get his response, nor did she ask further.

She was just a little puzzled when the car wasn’t headed in the Grant Family’s direction, so she asked, "Tom, where are we going now?"

"To spend time just for us."

Damon Hawke replied concisely.

Amelia Miles: "..."

No way.

This man, how did he suddenly have a whim?

"Tom, are you kidding? I still need to go back and tell Auntie to make soup for Serena Wells."

"Just call and say it." Damon Hawke maintained his calm demeanor.

"But, there are a whole lot of things to deal with at the company." Amelia Miles smiled helplessly.

"What company has tasks to handle?" Damon Hawke raised his eyebrows to look at her, "The Grant Family has Rhun Quinn, and Hawke Corporation has Cole Hawke. You and I are quite free."

Amelia Miles: "..."

This man, what’s up with him today?

"Then where are you taking me?"

"To nurture emotions."

"So, you mean we don’t have emotions now?"

"I misspoke; we’re going on a honeymoon."

"Tom, we haven’t registered our marriage yet."

"Elly, are you blaming me?"

"..."

Luxury restaurant.

Frost Moore and his sister were dining in a private room with Lily Johnson, accompanied by the little one.

Watching Frost Moore frequently serving Lily Johnson, in a pampering manner, Sarah Moore’s almond eyes flickered.

Her mind flashed back to words Amelia Miles had said to her.

This Lily Johnson was sent by Craig Landers.

So she approached Frost Moore with a purpose.

She was really afraid that one day Frost Moore might invest too deeply emotionally and get hurt once more.

"I’m going to the restroom, enjoy your meal." Frost Moore finished eating and elegantly wiped his mouth, getting up to leave.

As the door closed, Lily Johnson saw the little one watching her, so she smiled and teased, taking the little one from the nanny and playing with her.

The woman smiled brightly, not looking like someone bad.

Sarah Moore pursed her lips and said, "Lily, are you deliberately getting close to my brother?"

With one sentence, Lily Johnson’s smile froze.

She looked at Sarah Moore, her gaze flickering slightly.

"Brooke, what are you talking about?"

"Stop pretending, I’ve figured it out. You resemble my brother’s deceased girlfriend, and someone asked you to approach him, right?"

Sarah Moore spoke frankly.

Lily Johnson pursed her lips, quietly playing with the little one.

Inside though, she felt a bit panicked.

She wasn’t sure how Sarah Moore found out about this.

"Lily, my brother is a good man. I just hope you don’t hurt him."

Sarah Moore softly said.

Lily Johnson raised her eyes to look at her, "Brooke, I don’t know where you heard such things, but I swear, I won’t hurt your brother."
