Daddy, You Got The Wrong Mommy-Chapter 436: Encountering Elena Soo
Damon Hawke picked it up and looked at it; it was a call from Chase Quinn.
"What’s the matter?"
"Sir, I had someone investigate Franen and found that he met someone these past two days. Although it was very secretive, the person he met was definitely Gavin Miles. Moreover, his subordinates call Gavin Miles ’Young Master’, and they’ve already sent him abroad."
Chase Quinn reported truthfully.
Damon Hawke’s dark eyes narrowed, "Young Master?"
Calling Gavin Miles ’Young Master’, could it be that Gavin Miles and Franen are father and son?
"Yes."
Chase Quinn continued, "I had someone investigate deeper into Gavin Miles’ birth. It turns out he’s not Gabriel Miles’s biological son; he was adopted by the first lady of the Miles family. Also, I found out that over twenty years ago, Franen had secretly had a child with a woman. I think Gavin Miles is that child."
So that’s how it is.
This Gavin Miles is quite fortunate.
Either a young master of the Miles family or of the Franen Family.
"Sir, Franen came here this time to find business partners. He colluded with the second uncle before, but now the second uncle has been arrested, he has to find the next person to do his bidding."
Chase Quinn continued reporting the findings of the investigation.
Damon Hawke coldly curled his lips, "Have people monitor him 24/7 and see who he will find as the next scapegoat."
"Alright."
After hanging up the phone, Damon Hawke put his phone away.
Amelia Miles, with her ears perked, overheard a bit and quickly asked, "Was it Chase Quinn calling? What did he say? Was it about Gavin Miles?"
"Yes."
Damon Hawke didn’t hide anything and recounted the possibility that Gavin Miles was Franen’s biological son.
Amelia Miles widened her mouth, somewhat incredulous.
"Can’t believe this Gavin Miles is so well-off. Tom, can we just watch him escape? I’m afraid he’ll retaliate against us."
Hearing this, Damon Hawke gripped her hand tightly.
"Don’t worry, I’ll have people watch every move they make. Evil will not prevail; sooner or later, they will be brought to justice."
Amelia Miles looked into his deep, dark eyes and nodded. 𝑓𝑟𝑒𝘦𝓌𝑒𝑏𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝘭.𝒸𝘰𝑚
As long as he was by her side, everything seemed not to be a problem.
"Alright, can you still walk?"
Damon Hawke gently tucked her hair behind her ear.
Amelia Miles looked at the staircase with no end in sight and blinked her almond-shaped eyes.
"If I can’t walk, will you carry me?"
Damon Hawke chuckled softly, didn’t speak, and instead squatted down in front of her.
The man had a broad back, making one feel secure.
Amelia Miles giggled, "Tom, you’re really going to carry me up?"
"Get on."
Damon Hawke urged.
Amelia Miles laughed brightly and climbed on without reservation.
Damon Hawke hoisted her up, then steadily moved forward.
The scenery swayed lightly with his steps, and Amelia Miles felt blissful inside.
She wrapped her arms around his neck and said softly, "Tom, will you be good to me for a lifetime?"
She really loved him more and more!
I hope he can love her for a lifetime.
"Of course, Mother of my children."
"Tom, is it just because I gave you two sons that you’re good to me?"
"Of course not. I’m good to you because I love you."
"I love you too, husband."
"..."
The next day.
At the Miles Corporation.
Amelia Miles had recently established a fragrance department, so today there were interviews.
She wandered around the fragrance department, and decided to check out the interview scene when she was free.
There were quite a few people sitting outside the conference room waiting for their interviews.
Amelia Miles casually glanced around, and when she saw one of them, a hint of surprise flashed in her eyes.
Elena Soo?
She was actually in the lineup of applicants!
Amelia Miles quickly walked over and called out to Elena Soo, "Elena Soo."
Elena Soo was looking at the materials in her hand; upon hearing the call, she looked up.
Seeing it was Amelia Miles, she quickly stood up and smiled, "Charlotte. No, now I should call you Amelia."
Amelia Miles chuckled and walked over to hold her hand, "I thought I was seeing things, but it really is you? Why are you here?"
She remembered Elena Soo decided to marry Evan Miles after leaving Hawke Corporation.
Lately she’s been busy, Evan Miles hasn’t been in touch with her, so she doesn’t know their current situation.
"I heard the Miles Corporation was establishing a fragrance department, so I came to apply. Amelia, can you give me a job?" Elena Soo laughed.
Amelia Miles playfully slapped her shoulder, teasingly saying, "Are you treating me like a friend? Call me Amelia once more, and I’ll ignore you."
Elena Soo chuckled lightly, looking her up and down, "Charlotte, you’re getting more and more beautiful; you look like you’ve been nourished by love."
Amelia Miles raised an eyebrow, pulling her into the executive office, "Alright, don’t queue for the interview, it’s a great help you’re here. Come, let’s go to my office and have a good catch-up."
"Wow, does this count as favoritism? Charlotte, look at their envious eyes." Elena Soo joked.
Amelia Miles gave her a sideways glance, "Haven’t seen you in six months, why do I feel you’ve changed?"
The old Elena Soo was very reserved, speaking in a formal manner.
Unlike now, where she speaks with a hint of sophistication.
"People change. Look, haven’t you become more beautiful? Of course, maybe I’ve changed for the worse."
Elena Soo followed Amelia Miles into the executive office, smiling self-deprecatingly.
Amelia Miles could sense Elena Soo’s emotions were a bit unstable.
She poured her a cup of water and sat down opposite her.
"Elena, what have you been doing lately? Have you and Evan worked things out?"
Hearing this, Elena Soo took a sip of water, "Ever since I left Hawke Corporation, I secretly married Evan. These past six months, I haven’t worked, just stayed at the Miles family."
She secretly married Evan Miles?
Amelia Miles thought deeply, "Elena, you and Evan..."
It seemed Elena Soo wasn’t faring well.
Moreover, why hadn’t Evan Miles given Elena Soo a wedding?
"Charlotte, are you asking if Evan and I have feelings for each other?"
Elena Soo curved her lips slightly, lowered her gaze, her fingers gently tracing the rim of the cup.
"We’ve known each other for less than six months; two people without a foundation of feelings together are just partnering for daily life."
She spoke bluntly.
Amelia Miles could feel there wasn’t much emotion between Elena Soo and Evan Miles.
She comforted, "Elena, Evan is a good man, he’s slow to warm up; the longer you spend together, he’ll surely be a good husband."
"I know, but with our unequal statuses and various external factors, it’s unlikely we’ll become very close."
Elena Soo curved her lips, "I think a woman should still have a career, that’s why I came to join you."
Upon hearing this, Amelia Miles understood.
Evan Miles’s family was considered a wealthy clan in Sea City.
And Elena Soo’s status was as an ordinary citizen.
Marrying Evan Miles probably seemed like reaching too high in people’s eyes.
She had seen Evan Miles’s mother, who was like most rich wives, having the common flaw of being materialistic.
It seemed Elena Soo didn’t fit in her eyes.
Perhaps in the past six months, Elena Soo had suffered some grievances in Evan Miles’s family.
Otherwise, Elena Soo wouldn’t have come out to find work.
