Damned Healer-Chapter 744: The Anomaly (2)
"Darian, let’s negotiate!" Chrysos spoke hurriedly. "We can resolve this peacefully. You came to the sect to cultivate in peace, as you said before. We can give you that."
"Oh? And why would I trust you?" Darian replied without turning around.
"I give you my word... as the Sect Leader..." The hoarse voice of that man sounded in front of Darian.
In response, Darian snorted. "Now that it’s come to this, do you think I’m an idiot to accept so little? Are you really willing to... let’s see, hand me the entire sect?"
Everyone fell silent, completely stunned.
A tremor exploded from that Dragon in the lake. "You don’t want trouble! Then you don’t want this sect!" her dry voice sounded.
Darian smiled faintly. "Indeed. Well... if you want to settle this, I won’t hold back. I don’t want this sect, and I won’t interfere with anything. Just give me the core of this planetary inscription that controls this lake."
Everyone was just as stunned as before. Wasn’t that the same as handing over the sect? That inscription was their source of resources for cultivation. Without it, the sect would be like a starving, malnourished tiger.
Darian sighed when he saw everyone’s reaction. "Did I end up becoming the villain here? I have no intention of monopolizing everything, and the sect won’t lose that much in the long run. I’ll use this inscription however I want until my cultivation reaches the top, then everything will return to normal."
Darian’s voice sounded completely confident and indifferent. If they really handed him the core of this inscription, even if all the sect’s strongest joined forces to attack him, he could detonate everything and kill them easily. It would be a huge waste, of course. But he was willing to try.
"Oh, right, I also want you to announce me as the Leader’s direct disciple. I don’t want to cause any commotion, and you can pretend nothing happened. I also intend to participate in the Celestial Tournament I heard about."
With those words, everyone was shocked, but for the opposite reason now.
If what he said was true, the sect wasn’t really losing anything, but actually investing in him for the future.
Would he still participate in the tournament as someone from the sect? With his power, how could he lose? The sect would be like a dragon ascending to the heavens in status within the universe because of him.
For just one generation without all the resources from the Golden Celestial Lake? In fact, they were gaining far more than they were giving.
Chrysos felt his soul return to his body. He had never felt so relieved in his life. For some reason, he was sure Darian had completely changed his mind when he saw his brother’s wife striving to save him.
"Well?" Darian asked dryly, staring at the figure in his hand.
The Sect Leader’s eyes trembled slightly. "I’m willing. I will hand over the core and full control of everything in the Golden Celestial Lake, and the sect will do everything possible to support you."
That figure felt Darian was being sincere. He saved his brother and came to the sect, trying to follow the rules. After joining, he stayed focused on simply cultivating for years and advanced absurdly fast in his cultivation. He really seemed to just want to cultivate and, if they gave him what he wanted, they could profit in the future.
It was a gamble. Darian had already shown he was someone they couldn’t control or demand anything from, but he didn’t seem irrational.
After hearing the answer, Darian stared fixedly into that figure’s eyes for two seconds.
Then, with a thought, he removed the chaos power that was sealing his cultivation and released him.
The eyes of all the sect’s big shots lit up at that moment.
But... any thought of doing something right now triggered an instinctive sense of danger in their minds.
They didn’t know how Darian had done that and didn’t know the extent of his power. If they tried anything now, and he could repeat that, the entire sect would meet its end.
The Sect Leader looked at Darian, watching him calmly step a few meters away.
After taking a deep breath, he announced, "My name is Gildor. I know it will only be in name, but you will be announced as my disciple. And also..."
He didn’t hesitate and waved his hand. A multicolored rune appeared in the air, coming out of his spatial ring. The rune floated toward Darian, who calmly took it.
The current Darian, just as he had learned a bit of Alchemy from his uncle, had also learned a bit about inscriptions and formations from his mother, who was a specialist in that.
That was the central rune and the command core of this entire inscription. With that in hand... nothing else could threaten him, and he had taken a big step toward cultivating faster.
"Good," Darian said and turned toward the Dragoness who had appeared again and was staring at him with a cold expression.
Darian felt a chill run down his spine. He thought quickly, then waved his hand, and a white knowledge rune appeared in the air.
It slowly flew toward her. She didn’t look away from him, but received the rune and absorbed it curiously.
"!"
Her eyes widened immediately.
Gildor turned to his wife, confused. "Minril, what happened?"
She trembled from head to toe, clenching her fists tightly.
Darian said calmly, "You absorbed the scale and the inheritance I found before, correct? That will help you stabilize your bloodline better. Your power should also rise quite a bit."
She abruptly focused her gaze on Darian. All her anger evaporated, as if it had never existed.
"You... how..."
Darian smiled. "That’s a secret."
Yinou, the Yin Chaos Dragon, was someone very close to Ruri. Because of that, Yinou also visited Darian frequently while he was growing up without memories. The young Darian was very curious, and everyone who visited often was questioned and made to teach him a little.
The Primordial Dragon didn’t have much to teach a human. But since the Celestial Bloodline was superior to everything and could adapt, Yinou taught Darian an exclusive Dragon technique that made his bloodline easier to control.
This Dragoness called Minril was the one who ended up with that draconic inheritance from Ruri, which Darian found on the planet of the Mortal Plane at the very beginning.
So she absorbed a bit of the Chaos Dragon’s bloodline, along with other things that were left behind. Now, with this technique Darian gave her, the entire inheritance she gained would be a thousand times easier to use. Her already terrifying power would grow much more.
Ruri wouldn’t leave this technique together with her inheritance because it would be too much of a shortcut. It was better for whoever received it to struggle and push themselves to the limit until they could use it. But Darian didn’t mind helping, since he didn’t want a woman so similar to Niara looking at him with resentment.
"My name is Minril, thank you very much." She thanked him immediately and didn’t question again how he had that. And she also wouldn’t tell anyone much about it. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝔀𝓮𝒃𝙣𝓸𝒗𝒆𝒍.𝙘𝒐𝒎
Darian nodded. "Good. Since everything is settled, you can leave. I’ll stay here for a while."
The Sect Leader, Gildor, became somewhat agitated. "Darian, you can’t break through to the Celestial King Realm and pass the tribulation in here... it will destroy everything around."
Darian sighed. "Yes, I won’t do that now. I plan to spend a month studying my current discovery."
Hearing that, everyone sighed in relief.
Gildor nodded and added, "If that’s the case, in seven days, could you stop for one day? Since you will be announced as my direct disciple, everyone needs to know, and we have to hold a ceremony. I know it seems like a waste of time, but it’s essential..."
Darian looked at him unwillingly but understood that it was important for outsiders to know. "Alright."
The Sect Leader became excited, then waved his hand, and a small golden crystal appeared in his palm.
All the sect’s big shots froze when they saw it.
"Inside are 3 pure drops of the Golden Crow bloodline. And also all the knowledge of the Golden Crow Canon." Gildor made it float toward Darian, then spoke lightly.
"There are only 2 other pure drops stored. With these three, I intended to give one drop to my direct disciple and split the other two among all the selected disciples. That way, the sect would create the best candidates to compete in the Celestial Tournament. But now... keep them. I will take the last two and divide them among the others."
The first thing that crossed Darian’s mind was to return those things. He didn’t need this, and nothing was superior to his Celestial Bloodline, but...
He had never studied high-level fire techniques like those. To perfectly use the Golden Crow Canon, he needed the Golden Crow flames and, naturally, to create that, he needed its bloodline.
It wouldn’t be a waste. In the future, Darian could ask the Golden Crow itself to hand over more of its bloodline and thus replenish everything in the sect.
