Side Story: The Disaster of Laraska V, (final part)
[Poison Domain]
[Stage 2: Adobe of Achlys]
His voice reached the demon even though he just mouthed the words.
An invisible barrier expanded outwards instantaneously, not even taking a picosecond to cover kilometers between them, before the demon was sucked right at the Earl both of them disappearing into a different space.
Into a space that belonged to Earl.
His domain.
***
There was no land, only a sea, a multicolored sea.
Another Sea of Poison who obeyed Earl’s every whim.
A bubbling sea of poisons that had poisonous mist swirling above it, extremely poisons but extremely beautiful as poisons of different colors gave it a beautiful view.
And the Devil was experiencing its effects firsthand.
"arGGhhhh.", the Devil retched, vomiting black blood as even his skin started to melt.
And that was just the Earl unleashing the Domain.
During the whole fight, Earl utilized poison, but it was only when the poisoned dagger grazed him, i.e., when the poison was directly injected into his body, that it was effective; his outer body being relatively fine even after being exposed with poison.
But now, that changed.
Trying to escape, the Devil flew, unfurling his wings, whose membranes were half-melted.
Of course, the Devil didn’t actually need wings to fly. He remained afloat with his half melted wings, the magic he had been preparing before snuffing out as he couldn’t hold it.
It was after he escaped the sea, that he got a sense of his surroundings. The poison somehow messing with his senses.
It was a world of colors, with a multicolored sea beneath.
A strange world. A sea of poison that shouldn’t have any life on the contrary was brimming with it. Strange creatures swimming in it that he couldn’t see, but even with his messed up senses, he could feel.
Above was a multicolored sky shining with various colored suns, some close some far, each emitting a poisonous mist.
A poison so effective that his skin still melting. His melting flesh mixing with his armor that wasn’t in a better state.
"I am disappointed."
Zarkiart heard Earl’s languid voice and abruptly turned, finding the only structure in this separate space.
A massive structure floating on the multicolored sea.
A pure white flight of stairs was connected to the sea, its other end opening up to a big square filled with stone statues, each statue having an element or two that identified them as a poison user.
And all of them were facing in the same direction, kneeling as they prayed towards the largest statue that the Devil had seen in his life. A hundreds of meter tall statue of a woman, garbed in a tattered robe but somehow still looked regal as she sat on an equally big throne.
With a staff in one hand, and a cauldron in other, the woman sat regally wearing a huge crown that didn’t match her clothes. A crown that converged to form another throne, a grand human-sized throne on which the Earl sat. Three orbs from before were still floating on his hands, just much bigger as they sucked up the poison mist in the air.
The Earl’s eyes that held a disappointing look locked with the demon’s again, as he continued, "A Jack of all trades...that’s what you are. Specializing in strength, spirit, fire, stealth, and sword? The Polymath with five specialization? That’s no specialization, that just a façade. A façade, an act to cover up the fact that you have hit a wall."
Spreading his hands, the last bit of poison was absorbed by the orbs, before he stated, "After all, a jack of all trades is a master of none."
"HAHAHAHHAHAHAAHHAHAHHAAHAHA!!!!"
The demon burst out laughing, not his usual sinister laugh, but a – I can’t believe this shit laugh. Laughing so hard that his whole body shook.
"YoU aRE rIGHT!!" The demon shouted amidst laughter. "haHA, I caN’T beLievE A BoY LesS than FIftY yEarS Old fiGuRED ME Out! HaHahA~"
"But whAT dOes IT mAtTer!", He stopped laughing abruptly. "You are going to die after all!", he declared as if he gave a performance.
"Oh, and who will kill me?", Reynold asked raising a brow.
"OH! yoU SuRe Are EXcitED aBouT your dEaTH~", the demon said mirthfully. Before he leaned forward and quietly whispered, as if revealing a secret "ThE SATAN OF ChAOs, OF cOurse. hAhAHA!"
The demon laughed again and this time he had his fill laughing for a good half a minute before he stopped, no, he was stopped. By a calm voice that spoke in ridicule, "You really think we are fools?"
"Huh?" The demon stopped laughing, not liking that calm tone, nor the confidence in his opponent’s eyes. Thus, he asked gravely, "WHaT dO yOU Mean?"
"You think we would come into the demon territory without a plan?"
"ThAt sTUpiD bArRiEr? ThAT isn’T goINg To HiDe yOu!", the demon shouted.
"Is it stupid? Who knows now?", The Earl mysteriously smiled.
"Also, I know that you are trying use those domains of yours?", the Earl chuckled as he saw the demon’s face stiffening. "Go on, no need to hide, try using those domains of yours."
And this time the demon didn’t hesitate, nor did he curse. Instead, he focused on invoking his domains-
[Spirit Domain]
[Stealth Domain]
[Transformation Domain]
[Power Domain]
[Sword Domain]
-But nothing worked.
He called out again and again, burning up more and more of his mana-
[Spirit Domain]
[Spirit Domain]
[Spirit Domain]
[Stealth Domain]
[Stealth Domain]
[Stealth Domain]
-But still nothing worked. He was still trying when he heard, "It’s futile. When two domains overlap only the stronger one survives. You don’t expect my domain to lose to yours, right? Not when you have so little Mana left, that too is being devoured by my poison."
"Let me ask you, can you even use your strength right now?"
"..."
-Haa
Knowing what the silence meant, the Earl sighed, "You know, I am so disappointed that I don’t want torture you, but I can’t disappoint my wife...", getting up.
"I promised to give you hell...So, what did you say to my son…ah, right, HOW ABOUT WE PLAY?"
"Wait-"
The Devil said, but he couldn’t complete it as the Earl appeared in front of him, grabbed his face and punched. The poison in his system making him the perfect punching bag.
-Bang!
-Bang!
-Bang!
Once, twice thrice...till his face couldn’t be recognized and then threw him into the plaza.
-Crash!
"Devotees of Poison, wake up...", he said as the statues in the plaza came to life, looking at the Earl, for their orders.
"Heighten his pain sensitivity to the max.", The Magus replied as he crashed down on the demon’s back.
At his words the statues moved, arrows, darts, daggers, kunai…all sorts of poisoned weapons easily digging into the devil’s half melted skin, heightening his sensation of pain.
"ARRRGHHHHHH!!!!", the demon screamed. The pain of his broken bones, the pain of his melted skin and the pain of his broken pride hitting him hard. But that was just the start.
After the onslaught of weapons finished, the Earl walked on the demon’s back, intentionally stomping on his body as he came down, stomping two more times on his head.
"URGHHHH!!"
Seeing him like this, this enraged, this cruel, even the statues who came to life were wondering – Just what made him so mad?
Not minding them, the Earl walked, his shoes getting red with the Devil’s blood, as he held his hand.
"Okay your ribs are crushed, then the next were my son’s hands, right?"
"NO! NO! NO!", the demon begged...
-Snap
…before it turned into a screamed.
"ARRRGHHHHHHH!!!"
"Now, your other hand."
But his misery just continued.
...
..
.
Half an hour later, a mangled half melted mess laid on the hand of the biggest statue, on the hand of the Achlys herself. Unable to speak, unable to see, unable to hear, the only thing he could do was feel. Feel pain, unimaginable pain.
"That’s enough, Reynold.", the statue spoke in a soft voice. Bringing him back to his senses as he heard the voice.
"Kill him, now.", the statue continued. And as the Earl saw what he made of the demon, he agreed.
’I went overboard...’
He made a motion with his hand, and the three tiny orbs that had been rotating for a while came to his hand.
-Gulp
The statue gulped, asking, "You surely don’t have to use that to kill him? How about killing him normally?"
At that, the Earl raised his brows, "You’re right. But I can’t dispel it. And I can’t use it in the demon realm too. The Empress must be already here, fighting the Satan of Chaos. I can’t show this move to her."
"Huh? Wasn’t he bluffing?", Achlys asked, mildly surprised.
"No, he wasn’t. After all, the main objective of this mission was to lure out the Satan of Chaos and kill him.", the Earl said languidly.
Achlys remained speechless for a while, digesting the information, while cursing the Earl in his mind, ’Couldn’t warn me a little? And what’s with that languid tone!!?’
Using that moment distraction, the Earl threw the demon’s body in air, following it by, "Here goes, [Antimatter Poison Vortex]"
Achlys’ building sized eyes widened, her pupils trembling. "Everyone!! He went and did it!! Jump into the sea!!", she shouted.
Following her own advice, Achlys jumped in first, creating tsunamis on her descent. Following her were the rest of statues that came back to life, who also followed her example.
And while this happened, the three orbs reached the demon. One of the orbs touched his skin, being slightly displaced as it touched other two orbs and then-
-BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMM!!!!!
An explosion so big that it felt that world was going to end took place. And that was just the first explosion.
-BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMM!!!!!
-BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMM!!!!!
More explosions of the same magnitude continued taking place, destroying the structure, destroying the space, even destroying the domain.
’Maybe the bottom of the sea will be intact?’, Achlys thought, feeling that the explosion stronger than the one she felt two years ago.
**
-Swoosh
The Earl left the domain, just before the explosion engulfed him.
Appearing in the very same crater that was created during the creation of ’that’ spell, noticing a slight difference.
’The [Seven-way Purple Hex] is undone, so the Empress’ teleportation must be a success.’
As the name stated, Seven-way Purple Hex. ’Seven-way’, meaning seven uses, aside from protection, stealth and other uses the barrier was also a teleport point, a teleport point custom-made for the Empress, thanks to the Imperial Archmages who made it.

Actually, the appearance of Satan of Chaos wasn’t a confirmed fact, from what they knew he could come or he couldn’t.
If he came, then the Empress along with a ’helping hand’ would teleport here and kill him.
If he didn’t, then they follow the original plan.
It was just that simple.
Just on time, a humongous crack appeared in space. A mountain sized body falling down from within it, followed by two individuals slowly floating behind him, both of them having the aura of SS rank.
First individual, he knew. White hair, red eyes and a white day dress, it was the Empress, the Eternal Magus, Adeline Von Grey Jurgen Alexis.
Her dress was ruined, barely hanging on her figure as it showed some important bits that it shouldn’t. But it looked like the Empress was too busy during the fight to notice that, not to mention the fact that she looked too out of breath.
Other than that, she looked fine, some of her hair were burned, yes; her hand had some kind of cracks of strange chaotic energy, which she neutralized first after coming out, but she was fine. She wasn’t going to die, and that was enough for an Eternal Magus to be considered fine.
The second figure was someone unknown. A man with similar white hair, the only feature of his, that was similar to the Empress. He had reptilian eyes that weren’t like that due a skill, white scales covered both of his hands, and a pair of white wings sprouted from his back. He wore a tattered robe that did little to cover his features, showing his pale skin, golden eyes and chiseled body. His state was like his robe too, tattered. With cracks in his scales, the same energy wreaking havoc on his body.
’The White Dragon...so he was the ’helping hand’ she mentioned.’
The Earl deduced, before he turned his gaze.
Even if he was the only dragon that wasn’t reclusive and interacted with humans, there is no good in staring at an Adult Dragon in his tattered state.
So, the Earl turned his gaze, just for an instant peering into the space crack that was closing rapidly. Feeling the presence of three remanent energies, in the crumbling space where three SS ranked clashed, feeling the energies that still held the power to swallow him...the Earl stopped probing.
’The SS rank...becoming an Eternal Magus...too close yet too far...’, the Earl ruminated, his gaze finally landing on something that may have a clue on attaining the said rank.
The corpse of the Satan of Chaos.
Appearing near the mountain sized corpse, all sorts of equipment materialized around the Earl as he closely observed the corpse. Even taking a few samples, for detailed research.
After all, it was the corpse of a SS rank demon! A Satan! One of the only seven them.
He couldn’t miss this chance!
-Crackle
Black lightning crackled as the Duchess appeared in front of him, her gaze asking him the question – You killed the demon?
"It’s done.", the Earl said to both Duchess and the Empress. "Our mission is done."
The Empress who was bargaining with the dragon, heard that and teased, "Yes, all thanks to my stubborn Earl~"
"It must be hard being your subordinate.", The white dragon muttered in pity.
Only for him to be rebuked, "Shut up! I will only give you his lower half."
"No can do, I atleast want one of his horns."
The bargaining continued, one by one Archmages arriving at the scene, most of them choosing to remain silent as they too observed the corpse.
Maybe they could glean something from it that would help them in breaking through the next rank?
Actually, watching the fight between the SS ranks would be better for them, but no one was mad enough to take that risk. A single stray move could be their end after all.
Also, they didn’t want to bicker in front of two powerhouses!
It was only after everyone arrived, that the Empress said, "Okay, good work everyone. Your mission officially ends with this. Now, you can go back, reinforcements will take care of the rest."
The two SS ranks gave them a lift, dropping them to Vanzahra. And after a series of goodbyes, they left.
The outpost, the demon world, and the human world, all of them none the wiser to the fact that one of the seven pillars of demon world fell today.
