Chapter 1085: Chapter 282: Fire Spirit Venerable (2)

After stepping into the Nascent Soul Realm, he was granted a Dharma Spirit by his sect, the one initially used by Elder Hu, who was one of the Eighteen City Lords of the sect, named "Fire Spirit Venerable".

The Pingdu Sect values hierarchies, and originally, given his novice status in the Nascent Soul Realm, he wouldn’t have been appointed to command this Dharma Spirit. However, after Elder Hu was slain with one sword by Zhang Yan, there was no one left to inherit this Dharma Spirit. It so happened that he was chosen to engage in a swordfight, thus benefiting him.

He pinched a spell, chanting an incantation, and suddenly by his side appeared a Golden Armored God, ten feet tall and mighty looking, holding a golden whip in one hand and bearing a Treasure Bead in the other; his whole body was armed to the teeth.

As soon as the Golden Armored God appeared, Wu Han Cheng suddenly leaped up, fusing with it instantly. Then, with a loud shout, he raised the enormous figure.

The Pingdu Sect’s utilization of Dharma Spirits is distinguished between Displaying God Skill and Enslaving God Skill. If the sacrificial refinement is done long enough, it becomes human commanding spirit, where all spells and Daoist Formulas known by the Dharma Spirit are mastered.

However, he has not yet reached such proficiency; his Daoist Cultivation is shallow, only able to manifest the Dharma Spirit to confront enemies. Yet doing so, if he cannot suppress it, inevitably the spirit could seize control, not only causing significant harm but also potentially shaking his Dao Foundation.

Thus, he dares not battle for long, leaping into the high air, exhaling a gush of fierce wind and smoke below towards Gao Ruowang.

Originally just a plume of Elixir Evil, yet with the Dharma Spirit’s infusion, it transformed into a mouthful of Elixir Fire,

Gao Ruowang smiled faintly, tapping lightly with his foot to morph into a blood-shadow-red glow, like a plume of smoke, avoiding it in advance.

The fire sprayed down, landing on the hills; where it passed, the earth was scorched, grass withered, trees burned, all turning scarlet.

Wu Han Cheng in the form of the Golden Armored God firmly fixed his gaze on that blood-light, shouting angrily, "Where do you think you’re going!"

He drew his massive body in a motion, promptly triggering a pillar-like golden glow that roared, chasing closely.

Gao Ruowang seemed not interested in engaging in direct conflict, only maneuvering his tunneling light to weave and fly around the mountainside, without turning back.

Wu Han Cheng felt an overwhelming mana flowing throughout his body, pursuing relentlessly behind him, howling continuously, unleashing thunderbolts repeatedly that blasted one mountain peak after another into chaotic flying debris, breaking the vegetation.

The spectating cultivators, recalling the fate of those before, gasped in terror, fleeing in all directions.

Wu Han Cheng, after all, was lacking in escape skill, pursued for the time of an incense stick, still unable to narrow the distance between them; moreover, Gao Ruowang intentionally navigated toward crowded places, exacerbating his restraint, feeling increasingly impatient. He waved his sleeve, shouting, "Scatter for me."

As his robe sleeve swung, a fierce Gang Wind spiraled immediately; under Nascent Soul cultivator’s wrathful hand, those cultivators were defenseless, instantly swept a dozen miles away. Those with deeper Daoist Cultivation managed better, stabilizing themselves at a distance, whereas those unable to fly had a dire fate, all with broken bones and torn muscles, left in a critical state.

Having pursued for an hour, Wu Han Cheng suddenly felt a void of energy within his chest, a slight dread creeping up, with a thought he understood why.

Looking up at Gao Ruowang several times, realizing he could never catch up to this person, continuing further was now unnecessary.

He sneered once, unexpectedly turning around and leaving.

Gao Ruowang stopped ahead, clutching his long beard in the roaring mountain wind, smiling, "Fellow Daoist, are you leaving then?"

Wu Han Cheng, hearing this, instead of turning back, accelerated his escape speed.

In the recent reckless rush, he might have seemed imposing, but the mana consumption was significant; a growing sense of rage slowly filled his heart, fearing he might lose control over the Dharma Spirit.

He, fortunately, remained rational, knowing continuing further, the situation would be unmanageable, which was minor, but risking his life was undesirable. Better to leave early while momentum was good.

Gao Ruowang smiled indifferently, not pursuing, hands behind, watching him leave.

Though he considered keeping Wu Han Cheng’s life, this person was unlike Chen Qingping; if pressured, he would surely concede, summoning his sect’s elder for rescue.

Since he couldn’t kill him yet, and having acquired the token talisman, there was no need for unnecessary effort.

He turned around, flying towards the Demon Cloud above.

The many Xuanmen Sect Disciples on the peak felt the battle ended anticlimactically, couldn’t help but shake their heads in disappointment.

Approaching the Demon Cloud, a Blood Essence Sect elder greeted him, puzzled, "Why didn’t Master Gao seize this person’s life?"

Gao Ruowang smiled, "I don’t think much of Wu Han Cheng, a little intimidation and retreat will suffice, but if it were Xun Huaiying, Huo Xuan, Zhou Huang, or Zhang Yan, I’d gladly fight them."

Ms. Xu cast a clear glance, seemingly concerned, "Senior Brother Gao, did you suffer any loss fighting Chen Qingping?"

Gao Ruowang shifted his gaze to her, his smile unchanged, candidly stating, "Ms. Xu guessed correctly."

Ms. Xu momentarily hesitated; she spoke to probe, but with Gao Ruowang’s carefree demeanor, she couldn’t discern the truth of his words.

Feng Haiyang smiled, addressing a gentle young Daoist on his left, "Brother Gao fought two battles, best not to tire further; Junior Brother Yan, the token talisman’s next arrival will only trouble you for a while."

The young Daoist bowed, "Since Brother Feng has spoken, I’ll venture forth for the next round."

On Qingdan Peak, Ying Ya Daoist saw the first token talisman taken by the Demon Sect, sighed in pity.

Steadily rising from the cushion, he walked leisurely to the Dharma Platform, ordered the child to change the incense, candlelight, and bowed again to the talismanic script.

Soon afterward, a loud noise resounded from above, followed by cracks in the clouds, a silver stream like a waterfall descending, illuminating the peak, appearing as a cloud of piled snow, bright white.

Ying Ya Daoist gazed up, seeing this time three token talismans drift down, one towards his place, one towards the Lishan Sect, and the last towards Guangyuan Sect’s peak.
